Check out "Good Ole Boys Like Me" by Don Williams. It shows the philosophical side of him, wrapped up in a very comfortable melody. Something about his voice makes you feel like everything is ok while you're listening to him, even if it isn't.

Great videos man. My dad died when I was 16 I'm 24 now with two kids of my own. I listen to this song to fill the void of my father's missing support. He was a great dad and loved and supported his 4 children and believed in us all. It just helps to hear an old man who somewhat sounds like my dad to tell me he believes in me. I think this song is great because Don was speaking directly to every person who would ever hear this song and it is so easy for his song to become personal to each one of us.

This is probably my favorite Don Williams song. His live performance here sounds almost exactly like the recorded version. That's impressive in itself. One of my favorite Underdog Artists Marty Brown idolized Don Williams. Infact, the little hat he wears is in honor of Don (my dad's first name by the way). Williams had a great voice, and so does Marty. Check out his song that on title alone should be intriguing enough "You Can't Wrap Your Arms Around A Memory". Marty is as Country as it gets.

Glad you feel the same way I do about the song, CTC! I mean, how could anyone improve upon that, right? Gives me so much to think about. And as an aside, if anyone wanted to know the difference between traditional country and pop country, I would have them listen to Florida Georgia Line first, and then this song by Don Williams. That would pretty much cover it.

LOL about the language barrier, C-Mac!! It's a Latin word (technically it's a phrase, I suppose) that we've imported into English---it's "per se," and means something along the lines of "all by itself," or "an intrinsic quality." The French have an expression that may be similar that we all also use in speech here, and it's "je nais se quoi," which means a certain indefinable quality of a thing, but one that you recognize when you see it. I hope this helps more than confuses!!

Steven Rogers I’m from Childress. Where are you from, Steven? This gentleman is correct. The first “a” is pronounced with a long a sound.

Steven Rogers I know Loop. I started school at Guthrie which is another one of those small schools that plays six man football. I’m in Lubbock now which isn’t too far from Loop.

I will bet 99percent of people who read this will never have heard of 6 man football. In West Texas however it is quite a sport.
