Don't Waste Wood! Smelt Ore Stacks Efficiently in Large Furnaces in Rust!

Ойындар

Large furnace efficiency stacks all call for less than 2k wood except for in the very unlikely scenario that you have 1k high quality metal ore. Save yourself the wood by using the right amounts.

    I know it's overkill for the smelting, but I tend to throw in a full wood load when I can for the charcoal. Helpful though to see the actual numbers for when wood is scarce. thanks.

    "And like small furnaces, they'll cook at their maximum speed regardless of how many slots are being used." "Having ore in more slots just means each slot goes a bit slower." These two sentences seem to contradict each other. What did you mean?

  • @Renzo911X

    @Renzo911X

    Жыл бұрын

    If you use only 1 slot, it will go max speed, if you use all slots, the speed will divide by the number of slots in use as it is actually smelting all of them at the same time, this means that doesn't matter how many times you split to fill the slots, the speed will be the same.

    Isn't large furnace consuming wood at half rate?

  • @visnyliss

    @visnyliss

    Жыл бұрын

    Not quite. A Large furnace is 3x as efficient as a small furnace, meaning it actually uses only one third of the wood it would take to smelt the same amount of product in a small furnace. As for the actual speed at which it consumes the wood, I'm not sure, actually. I can't get into game right now otherwise I'd set up a quick test.

    Video looks helpful but it's not really so. You only need to save wood if you don't make gunpowder. Otherwise you often have to burn wood without any ore because big furnace is so fuel efficient that you lack charcoal.

    Always put 2k Wood in there, wood gathering is super fast and waiting for charcoal just annoying as fuck.

  • @nutellabrah6718

    I’d rather farm more wood than build a large furnace and it’s housing. When you consider that you have to farm stone and it’s upkeep for it you’re just substituting stone for wood requirements. It’s also dumb to risk it all with a furnace base burning all the time and enemies knowing you have goodies in there for sur - all just because you’re too lazy to pop a wood tea and grab a chainsaw for 2 minutes. Boom 20k wood for 5-10 small furnaces. All without installing raid bait.

    1 sulphur = 2.5 wood and 1 metal = 5 wood, a small furnace burns 3 stacks of 200 metal per 1000 wood for 600 metal total or 400 sulpur stacks for 1200 sulphur total.
