Love your videos man. One of the very few people that consistently gives great tips, advice with solid reasoning. And as a bonus, it's well editted,making it easy to comprehend. I learn new stuff everytime. Thanks for all your efforts!
Awesome big z I’ve owned soothe 2 for a while and use it on 909 hats and mix down never thought of using it to process vocals so thanks man, also once happy with your vocal always bounce it down as soothe can be cpu hungry even with a top end pc or Mac
Thanks for this video. Sometimes I already used some of the methods you have shown, and it is really reassuring to see, how the pros do it.
ALWAYS great advice! Thank you so much! 👊🏻🙌🏻

0:23 that's why i always search for that dry version on Splice, when hearing a nice vocal with FX on it. Gives you all the room you need to work with it

This is great video. Thank you for that. By the way, FabFilter Q3 can also be a dynamic eq. At a boost/cut frequency knob there are 2 "wheels", the main one, and within it a secondary one. Thank you again. A good editing is quite important thing.
@ItsGrantM

Its not quite true dynamics as it doesnt identify the sounds as they move in time, it only responds to each peak within a given time interval. So Soothe can follow the vocal notes as they change frequencies. Im sure there are plenty of instances when Q3 would do the same job but this isnt one of them.
great video, soothe is incredible. You didnt add much saturation with Saturn tho, you just turned the gain up 7 db. Also, instead of adding another Soothe to tame what you just added via Saturn, why not just pull back on the gain. Pro Pro tip, volume automate all the silibance instead of relying on de-esser or soothe. or even better, volume automate, and then have soothe to subtle balance the top end.

Great video! Could you put Saturn first in the chain and follow with Soothe, then you'd just need two?
Ty
Hello, I follow you for a long time. Could you make a video on how to solve the monocompatibility problem that, for example, the reverb of the serum generates? What do you do to make your songs play so well in mono and stereo?
awesome video per usual
If you dont have soothe2, can you use gulfoss as an alternative with the tame parameter for the specific freq range only?
Can i use hook vocals from slice ..for any proction + relasingf for axample on spotiy or youtube.. ?..
big z with big tips, my man.
I was just watching an old video of yours and you drop a video.

What is the name of the site and can I find phonk singing on the site?
Hey Big Z, did you used a splice sample for this track ?
Great tutorial as always!! One question though…why utilize Soothe over the dynamic eq in Pro Q3? Other than frequency precision? 7:15
@BigZMusic
11 ай бұрын
I think the frequency precision is the most important part. Soothe2 basically creates tons of little bands that react to every part of the audio, while ProQ3 you have to add the bands 1 by 1 in specific places

at 6 min mark he says he can SEE harsh frequencies - any idea what hes looking at for that?
@Zerdesht
5 ай бұрын
He's looking at the right hand side of the frequency spectrum, inside his EQ plugin Pro-Q3, all graphic EQs will show Frequencies from Left to Right, 20Hz to 20,000 Hz. Sounds in the 7,000Hz to 11,000Hz range cause these harsh frequencies.
I think it's better to use dry vocals.
Can you PLEASE make a video that shows how you organize and save your projects and samples ? Or at least reply to this comment. Thank you so much
You just have to find the right samples... the wet ones I use are fire.

This is why I don't like samples very much, typically they try to make them "production ready" but the production done to it is usually crap
I was just curious why not use the Dynamic function in proQ3 ?
@fts1981
11 ай бұрын
He would actually have to take the time to listen and target the resonances himself instead of letting Soothe automatically do it. I use both, I target what jumps out (my ears pound like a heartbeat to ugly resonances) with Pro Q 3 dynamic cuts, then soothe after that to catch those smaller peaks across a broader range.
@BigZMusic

Yeah @fts1981 nailed it!
idk i think it’s pretty obvious that you want to process your dry samples on your own and fit them in depending on the style of your song. people who don’t get this on their own probably shouldn’t be producing music because that’s like one of the most basic things that you will have figured out by using your brain for just 2 seconds. the real problems with dynamic EQing, mastering etc. occur very much later in the whole process
Please break down this whole song 😩❤️❤️❤️❤️

BPM was in your video. But another aspect is the key of the vocal. You must transpose it to the key of the song. Is that another video?
Don't Use SPLICE Vocals Until You Shazam the vocal first!! 😂
@greedokenobi3855
11 ай бұрын
My Shazam brain recognized that first vocal from a DnB tune lol….. I guess you have to either don’t care that you won’t be the only one (and possibly not the first one either) to use that vocal or just don’t use vocal samples. Or alternatively alter them to a point where they become ‘original’. Also wonder how times people can get into issues because algorithms recognize the song as the ‘other song’ just because of the use of the same sample. Probably solvable afterwards but then still an annoying hassle.
Here before 100 ❤️💪
