This is not necessary. You can do a regular two strand twist and it will still loc.

You can 2 strand and just let them be. That hair starts to loc from the ends to an imaginary demarcation line where they will never loc. I observe this with my first set of locs. Once the buds at the ends hang off, let them be because that indicates they are sealing. I love the process.

I know mine will loc up cause when I have my cornrows in for 2-3 months my hair at the roots and tips loc up

Yes that’s the method I’m using but just know that depending on how much volume your hair has is what leads to it being thick or thin

@@3ch0ri0t9 all hair locs up if you don’t do anything but wash it. It’s just that the tighter curl patterns will loc faster and easier than looser to straight patterns
