⛔️ Don’t Speak Old School English! ⛔️

Slang is not something you will learn in English class with your teacher, and that's understandable, but you really need to learn these words because any native English speaker uses these words in normal everyday speech.
Slay - To do something exceptionally well or to look amazing. It's often used to compliment someone on their appearance, performance, or achievement.
Bussin - Something that is really good, especially in reference to food. It can also mean something is exciting or excellent.
Vibe Check - Assessing the general atmosphere, mood, or energy of a situation or a person. It can be used to ensure everyone is feeling good or to call out someone who might be bringing negative energy.

As a 34 year old American. I didn't know several of these.... I've never heard of bussin. I've only heard people use slay or rizz online, not in person, and the latter more joked about and made fun of then actually used. I've never heard anyone say "Do it for the plot" or use the word "ate" in that sort of context. I grew up in Houston and overseas, and currently live in Idaho. A lot of these are probably weird west coast regional things made popular by tictoc

I’m from Norway and we use “slay” and “rizz”. This could be for two reasons. 1. They use these words in Europe but not in America. Or 2. Gen Z-ers use them, but not millennials. However, I’m not in America so I don’t know.
