    If the Model-T and the J-4 are good enough for Robert DeLeo of Stone Temple Pilots, that’s good enough for me. I think he used those in their 2001 Live at the Rolling Rock Festival performance and his tone (and playing of course) was insane.

    Nice review and cool looking bass. I have a Model T that's a couple years old. The fit and finish is beautiful and mine came with EMG'S and an EMG 18v 2 band preamp. Sound wise, I definitely prefer the active electronics of mine, and the pricing was a bit less as well (right around $800 US). Other basses have come and gone, but my Model T is a forever bass along with the "SuperSquier" that my daughter and I built together.

    Awesome review, Johnny 😎🤘🏻🎸 schecter makes such phenomenal basses. I own a schecter stiletto extreme 5-string bass for about 11 years and it is an awesomely beautiful bass guitar. It’s been my main bass for a long time and it’s one of my most treasured basses. It’s an absolute keeper for me. As for the schecter model-t bass, it’s a really nice looking and sounding bass. Superb tones and great for any genre of music. I also dig their diamond J bass(which is their take on of a jazz bass). A little too pricy but totally worth buying if you like jazz basses. Other than that, the model-t bass is a great sounding bass.

    I’ve commented on this channel about schecter before. Schecter basses are the best product schecter makes in my opinion. I would put a mid tier schecter against any one else’s mid tier basses even over some high end makers basses I think the are just the meaning of bang for buck.

    Regrding coil split Of couse it's not what the badge says it is. It's a switcher to what they call a vintage mode Based on my personal experience of playing different Schecter basses with this system it works that way: all Monster tone pickups have specific higher output with notable low-end boost (even single coils, yes), both of which are off when you put knob in a split position - now it's more classic sound, but with lower output (bad for mix) btw, its neck is more narrow than on Session series, especially noticable for 5 string version

    I own this bass and actually love the pickups. I actually found the neck pickup to really boom compared to my Fender PJ. My favorite setting tends to be full P, 70% J and 70% tone. Also get really good tone going 70/70/70. I didn’t really like the tap either at first, but it is more noticeable with high volume or with headphones. That feature while not impressive at first has grown on me. It should go without saying that a good chunk of the price is in the black limba and ziricote, not to mention the roasted maple neck. That is not cheap wood. It’s in the exotic line for a reason.

    That wood and finish with a roasted neck it’s screaming LOOK AT ME on the stage, gorgeous. Anyway, it seems that the body is pretty flat with sharp edges: is it forearm safe for longer sessions? Did you notice some fatigue regarding this? Great review anyway man, really enjoy your content, keep it up! 🙌

    I've played one at a local store (it was the only store in Switzerland that had this model on stock!).. it was a really bad bass, 3 consecutive dead spots on the D string (starting at G#) and 1 on the G string somewhere and one on the A string around the 12th fret. I really wanted to buy this bass because of the EMG pickups and the crazy good locks. But this very model will definitely stay in that shop forever!

    This bass looks ammmazing! But the sound... I don't think it's that special. I love the Model-T shape and have one of these, but for the price this one should give more than it has. And one more thought - I can't understand why this one, and mine too, has such a weak bridge pickup. That's why it's useless. Thank you very much for your review! This is really a good choice.

    Seems to have a very nasally tone, compared to the Session model. 😕 i think it’s the bridge pickup. The P sounds great but that bridge pickup makes it sound… idk.. anemic? Just my two cents. Thanks for the great review!

  • @michaelkeefer4293
    @michaelkeefer429311 ай бұрын

    I think it is a beautiful bass! However, there are two things that keep me from considering it... First and foremost is the weight. My 11 pound 2008 MM SR5, which is an absolutely amazing bass, has not been played very much over the past few years because of the weight. The older I get the more sensitive my back has become and I just can't handle anything much over 9 pounds any more. Second, I have to agree that I'm not a fan of the overall tone nor that completely unnecessary coil tap switch. To me the P pickup sounds okay, but that bridge pickup sounds a bit too thin and gets even worse when you pull the coil tap. All just my personal opinion, your review as always is very informative and entertaining.👍

    Neither of the pickups blow me away individually, but they blend together well. I don't get the point of the coil tap either. It looks nice and I'm sure it's quite well made, Schecter know their stuff. But if I had $1200 to spend on a bass this one probably wouldn't make it on the short list.
