    Hi All! Answering some questions! Yes, the online store is now closed. Thank you all so much! You have no idea how much you all have helped throughout this journey. Thank you for making YAYA Chébé Hair Care Line more than I could ever dream of. It was truly life changing. I will do my best to answer questions about the shop closing in the next few videos. If you have any questions, leave them under this comment. As for orders, the last batch will ship between the first and second week of October. If you have questions about your order, please email me at iamjustyaya@gmail.com.

    Chemistry DIY Buff here! Knowing my own low Porosity hair, there's a couple changes I would make solely to be more "UNIVERSAL". Guar, Protein and Dimethicone are VERY temperamental in a lot of peoples hair. Guar gives AMAZING slip and definition but it dries down with a surprising "cast" and can even flake!, that and I feel most people don't use a leave in for hold. Dimethicone also has a tendency to buffer against curl definition in very coarse hair. Protein, some people hair flat out hate it. - I would substitute the Emulsifier with BTMS / Cetyl Alcohol in the heat phase - I would drop the dimethicone (if your hair is coarse / low porosity), there is just too much reporting of negative reactions associated with it. - I wouldn't recommend protein at all in a universal detangler because it can dramatically reduce slip in some folks hair. Again, this is only relative to my hair. I like to leave options for Coarse/Low Porosity/ Protein sensitive hair types. I tend to formulate my leave ins to be more creamy and unctuous

    Great video! I had requested you make more hair products like leave in conditioners; and also facial creams and serums. I was over all the body butter videos. So I was excited to see this one. I made a leave in conditioner with almost the same ingredients, only I find that polyquaternium 10 builds up in the hair, HEAVY. Atleast for mine and my daughters hair type it does. We all have super long, very wavy hair. I used polyquaternium 7, 37, and a touch of polyquaternium 11 for styling benefits. It worked out beautifully! Can't wait to see you make more hair products.

  • @YayaDIYCreations

    @YayaDIYCreations

    Жыл бұрын

    Yay! Happy to help! The only way to know the effectiveness of a preservative is to test it in a lab. This can be expensive and time consuming. For us at home, it is best to follow the usage rate and other instructions as much as possible. See what ingredients will change its effectiveness for better or for worse. The pH is also important when dealing with preservatives. All in all, this formula has a lot of water in it. I was actually planning to use an even stronger preservative due to the high water content, but I wanted to test this one out first. Putting this into a jar will be messy and will introduce more microbes from putting the hand in the jar. Just something to think about when testing. I hope this helps. 💜💜😊

So when I get samples that are too small to make a standard batch of soap ...I usually use it to make a lotion or something so I can get the scent and decide how I like it before I put it in the soap and fair warning if you smell it directly from the bottle you're like, "whoa what is this!!" hahaha but once it's diluted into a lotion or soap or whatever the scent kind of blooms and I had made her hair lotion and put it in there because well it needed scent and it was the only thing available and everybody around me is here wow your hair smells amazing what are you using and I like to send too but that's the first time I got such mass feedback. But what I noticed personally was I didn't get tired of the scent like when you put a leave-in conditioner in... if it smells too flowery or too citrusy or whatever at some point in time you just want to wash your hair to get rid of the smell ...this is a scent I can live with forever.

    There are a lot of DIY ingredients like herbs that can give your product some slip. Slippery elm, xanthan gum, marshmallow root, oils, etc. Just know that it is harder to preserve these raw ingredients and more difficult to correctly stabilize them in the product. In most cases, you need a lot to even get half the slip. I hope this helps.

    Can I use a hand mixer instead of a stick blender for emulsions??? Nice video 👍🏾

  • @YayaDIYCreations

    Thank you! I do not recommend that. Your emulsion will have lots of air bubbles and may not emulsify completely. It may be better to make sure you allow your ingredients to completely dissolve and hydrate before combining the oil and water phases. From there, you can gently stir with a spatula or a stirring rod. However, I am only speaking for this particular formulation. Thicker formulas will 100% need an immersion blender of some sort. I hope this helps. 😊💜

    Is this conditioner for low porosity hair. I love your products

  • @YayaDIYCreations

    Thank you for watching! I would be careful. Most of the ingredients are film forming and bond to the hair strands to strengthen, condition, add slip, and sheen to the hair strands. Too much of this product may be overwhelming for those with low porosity hair. Make sure to follow up with a clarifying shampoo at least once a week or once every other week to remove any build up. I used the bare minimum of each ingredient and carefully chose them to reduce build up. However, what works for one, may not work for the other. I hope this helps. 😊💜

  • @YayaDIYCreations

    There is really no replacement that I know of. I will look around and get back to you. In the meantime, you can use more water or a different emollient (like an oil or more water) to make up for it missing in the formula. However, this will drastically reduce the viscosity and change the consistency. Try adding more of another thickener to make up for it. I hope this helps. 💜😊

  • @YayaDIYCreations

    @YayaDIYCreations

    Жыл бұрын

    Hi Jennell! You can replace one of the humectants for the honey, like glycerin or propanediol. This may change the consistency and feel of the final product. You could leave out most ingredients depending on what you are looking for. Dimethicone, polyquaternium 7, shea butter, sweet almond oil, and a few more are just there to improve the overall feel, texture, and conditioning of the detangler. Water, a good thickener, an emulsifier, preservative and conditioning agent could be more than enough for a very simple conditioner. It probably won't be as good for detangling though. I hope this helps. 💜😊
