Don't Practice Bad Habits | Strive To Achieve Excellence While Training | Boxing And MMA
Спорт
There's a lot of information out there. Some good, some bad. Everyone has an opinion and there is more than one right way to do certain things, but practicing poor training exercises sets you up for poor performances. The sport of boxing is already tough enough to master without practicing flawed techniques. The moral of this story is....Please don't "hand drop!"

@@WorldClassBoxingChannel So first question u say that ur suppose to be tight always for defense its funny cuz fighting the regionals match a guy i tried to drown was able to catch me cuz i was just disregarding his ability and assuming he was better n i kamiakazed him bad ik(first year boxing) but i got caught with a left hook never seen coming but it was i opened up to wide to land a big Shot my question is beginning of a fight when someone comes out extra aggressive and explosive n throws a 1 1 2 should i just be able to take it by defending throwing short blows or is it okay for me to throw full shots with with full extension??? I feel like what ur saying is correct but dosnt it take alot of heart to stand there n catch catch roll right hand ??? But wouldnt that leave u off balance n if u throw light tight punches wont a bigger guy then u just walk thru it????
Honor worth more then money ...thanks for ur free techniques and skills
Thank you sir!
Man, you are the man!!! TOP 👍🥇🙂

You are absolutely correct. I thought the same thing when I saw he coached Anthony video about dropping your hand. It would leave you open. Thank you for the correction
Simply top.
What are some of your poor training habits? What have you done to correct those bad tendencies? Train hard, but most importantly train smart!

I love it
Your the best coach in the world
This is a very good talk on fundamentals. Everything that's said is awesome by itself but when the movement starts it's clear how the stance ties punches together with defense. I kinda feel like I should've paid to see this XD, but I'm very grateful it's out here for free.

Words of wisdom. Great video Tom. Best regards

That part about being lazy with the fundamentals hit home for me. Even happens to the greats. Great advice for me to being accountable to keeping that strong foundation in my training.
Another great video.

Very important concepts thanks coach!
You are a godsend. Thanks coach.
This was such a beautiful breakdown coach...I own a muay thai/boxing gym in san marcos ca, I watch a lot of your videos for my own group classes and I can't say enough about how amazing you are at what you do, down to the explanations, just great stuff!
3:35 short hook (dont wind it up ) Bringing it forward and over 4:05 tyson shadow box Always practicing those fundamentals 4:40 uppercut tight 5:45 philly shell hands defense 6:55 punches are hidden to ko
Wow. Just what I needed.
Look at him doing those moves while explaining and talking. Still in great condition.
Beautifully explained 💯
Good topic, good advice. Not a fan of that slap style focus pad work. Dont swat it into the punch for added effect. Give me an old fashioned set of standard mitts with a strong partner

👍
That is true but sometimes you need to through wide when you spar or fight.
@WorldClassBoxingChannel
5 жыл бұрын
Sometimes you do. But don't leave yourself unprotected. If you practice "tight" fundamentals your punches will tend to stay a little more compact. If you practice too wide, then you will leave yourself too open just as this video expresses! Thanks. The "wideness already comes naturally in the fight, so don't make it worse by practicing poor habits in the gym.
While i agree you must keep your punches tight at all times for protection, the fact of the matter is you will have to unavoidably open up to get your shots off. Whether it's your head or your body. whenever you throw a punch something opens up. The key is to keep it as subtle as possible and making sure your retraction is fast.
@WorldClassBoxingChannel
5 жыл бұрын
And when you open up to throw the punch, is when you need the most protection. Chin in, elbows tucked, knees slightly bent, shoulder shield, movement and limited target space. Thanks V!

“ Punches are Hidden”,
Great video but I think the fella missed the point about flashy fighters having their hounds down, for more power and distractions, or possibly to conserve energy. Flashy fighters encourage bad behavior from wannabe boxers. Fighters only have their hands up if they fear being hit. Will not mention names.
