“Can’t never could” we were told as kids. Wonder if one red square or two would work in that piece you’re doing. Nice work

Your work is inspiring. Since my beginning as an artist I worked with graphite and lately I have started branching out with color; pastels, water colors, colored pencils and recently colored pens. But the way you draw, dark to light , helped me see how to use tones and values.Thank you for sharing.

I'm in tears this is so beautiful. I have loved charcoal for just shy of 40 years. I've stretched my own canvas, had the staple gun, all the tinctures and oil paint, as well as, creating that classic jr college101 color canvas. For me, charcoal is more down to the ground and I love it for that reason alone. Your creations are truly magnificent. ❤❤❤

Something important that viewers should note is your tempo. Keeping the tempo up is so important to the vitality of a piece. So many starting artists slow down which leads to stiff overworked results. Thanks for the great demo and wise advice.

I left art long time now, its been months and maybe a year now. As a believer and as im seeing your work now and remembering that it inspired me to move from graphite to charcoal and how it was a great learning experience. I want tk come back to art and this time do it for the LORD❤✝️

For the past 4 years, all I drew were graphite portraits and I just started colorful fantasy drawings from World of Warcraft. I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it and how cool of a challenge it was 😊

Perfect timing for me to hear this, so encouraging! I’m about to take a giant risk and paint a wall mural, at an invite-only festival with professional muralists 😱 and I’ve never completed one 😂 (except in grade 8 I made one with my sister that I’d like not to count) As a watercolour and charcoal artist I’m absolutely outside of my comfort zone in pretty much every way… but I’m excited for the experience, confident it’s going to stretch and grow me big time. I very much appreciate your transparency and watching your pieces come together. Full of risk and reward ❤

I would say drawing what I see instead of always relying on a grid. I would also say speed drawing with charcoal and pan pastel is a new thing that I’m working on. I like you have had drawn in mostly graphite.
