@Lex... I went to the local casino.... " Le Lac Leamy " lol.. They used to run 100$ tourneys on tues & thurs so I won the thurs tourney for 2,200 and change and then they had a 550$ buy in on Sundays and I decided to go in early and grind a little 1/2 cash cause I used to be a low low stakes player but ive moved up over the years.. I got it in with QQ few hands later for 250$ and two players called it off I ended up spiking a straight on the turn... freerolled into the 500 and then I get to FT (8.5K for first) and I ended up getting Q9 suited in BB, the SB limps.. I jam it for like 14-15 BBs he snaps it off.. I leave the table as I thought I was covered and dealer calls me back and says you got 500 chips left (1ante worth) not even a SB... I won like 14 all ins in a row and ended up making heads up for an ICM chop lol left with 6,800$!!!!

Just a question Lex: If your logic is to defend when they minraise but not when they put in 2.3 bb or something. Than why do you minraise yourself instead of raising to 2.1 or 2.2? Your goal is to let them fold right?

Lex can correct me if I'm wrong: But I think it's because the first tourney was 6-max and and it simply had good odds to call. The next tourney he played was 8-max and if you're short stack, then you don't want to open 2.3 and lose 0.3 extra if someone 3-bets. It's more likely that will happen with more players at the table, therefor a min-raise is the safest option and you will lose less in the long run. TLDR: Just because it's worth it for Lex to defend, then it doesn't mean his opponent did something wrong by minraise open

@Lex Veldhuis if joining a $4 tournament when shortstacked effectively means it's a $7 tournament. That implies a 75% increase in the buy-in value. Does this apply as a rule of thumb?

Im not sure how he comes to this, variance may be bigger but the amount you lose is the same.Youll have longer bad swings but i would think that is balanced out by more min cashes.Just always have a decent BR to cover the bad streaks

Sometimes I don't know if you're the right tutor for this kind of content. As shown around 8:00. Some people, at least one per table almost, limp every hand except kings, aces, ak and aq. From any position. And some people limp every hand with the the same suit from any position. I would love some more statistical or strategic thoughts and lessons. Like when you were under 18BB and how to act, which cards are shit and which are not. Or which spots to hunt bounties in BB tournaments. More stuff like that. EDIT: But don't try to read people's minds in these stakes. You need notes and history to understand anything about them. They don't know GTO, they don't understand poker at all.
