I would suggest using FBI or DOJ crime stats over one of the sources you’ve mentioned below. While they aren’t entirely accurate for reasons like the ones I mentioned in my reply to another commenter, they are a better source than a 3rd party that appears to also be out of date. Please also note that arrests and convictions have a lot to do with economic status and race. Given similar evidence, a person is more likely to be convicted if they are poor or a person of color. These rates also don’t consider false arrests in their calculations. I think including air quality and other pollution stats might also be helpful. I’m much more worried about the effects of pollution in WVC than being the victim of a crime. I’m glad to see Gardner mentioned, though! A lot of my colleagues work there. It skews a little conservative, but that’s what you get in Utah.

White. The state is about 80%, but only because of the Salt Lake area and even areas in SL can be more than 95% white. The rest of the state is generally around 90+%. Areas of Ogden being the exception. The Gardner Institute should have the latest stats. Last time I checked, African American/Black just under 2%. Hispanic/Latino made up around 15%. It can be much higher in some areas of the SL valley, though. Roughly, 50-60% in SLC are LDS but it is much higher in other areas. One stat came out and said it was less than 50% but that was based on flawed methodology. I actually live in WVC. It’s not as dangerous as everyone claims. I’ve never felt unsafe as a white woman. We are extremely over policed, just like areas of Ogden, So. salt Lake and SLC. Our officers also have a tendency to pull over non-white individuals on pre-text so they can search vehicles. Those facts seem to get left out by data sources. I have a background in statistics. There are a lot of factors contributing to crime stats that were left out of this video (which is understandable. Most people don’t analyze at the level of a statistician). It also didn’t mention that we tend to be the number one state for fraud per capita. The FBI had to open up an office just to handle all the fraud and white collar crime that comes out of Utah. Utah is great if you like the outdoors, conservative politics and little to no diversity. Utah is also one of the best places to own a business. Areas of SLC and Park City are more liberal, but the makeup of the state legislature makes it impossible for democrats to pass anything.

As an Realtor, you should give your clients a couple of sources for them to do their own work.
