One good tip is that the in-mission tents let you do a *lot*. Forgot to eat? The tent can let you cook everything but the "daily specials". Can also let you refill items indefinitely and swap equipment.
Personally, I think tour/ expedition quests are underrated. You have unlimited carts and time to do pretty much whatever you want - including a random selection of monsters to hunt. I often do these for learning monster fights and patterns, and for getting the hang of new weapons. There's so much more you can do with an actual monster than the Tetra in the Training area. While yes, you have less time before the monsters leave the locale, but that's just one downside to a bunch of positives. I think expedition quests are great for practice - on both monsters and weapons.

@@AntonsVoice Not all hunts are 15 minutes. Some things like the sieges in Iceborne were incredibly fricking repetitive and grindy, I want to get it done in the most optimal way when you’re literally forced to do it in coop. or a Fatalis hunt may take over 20 minutes. @@grimreefer213 "Meta" is relative. A dude from Team Darkside killed a Silver Rathalos in 2:40 with a Safi CB back when Safi weapons were best in slot. He only had Critical Boost 2, Agi 1, some Attack Boost and attack augments. My purely defensive cat set with Defense Boost 5, Vaal set bonus and Palico Rally 5 has comparable DPS (also Safi weapon, CB3, WEX, CE7). It's not meta anymore because Fatalis weapons exist, but this doesn't mean that you can't kill Silver los in 2:40 in this set anymore. I can't, not because of the set, but because I lack the skill. Someone from TDS can.
How cool is it that Monster Hunter is finally available on ALL platforms?
You can still eat dangos during the quest when you forgot by just going inside the tent
Another mistake I seen is people refusing to heal themself. Just because someone thinks they can take on the monster and not get carted doesn't mean they can. I seen this too much where someone is in red and when the monster moves to a new area instead of healing they just straight up go to where the monster is only to cart from a signal tap of the monster. Also these kinda of players I do heal but I end up running out of the item I need to heal them so I always end up having to go restock at camp.

@SuperLuigi1025
Жыл бұрын
@@arbiter1022 With a build like that yeah the damage is great but you also need to know when to give up that buff too by healing when needed. If the monster is knocked down and is unable to attack or what ever then fine that is a completely different story. But I seen times with that armor set where someone is getting pinned down about to get carted. Then gets healed then starts getting mad at everyone for healing them when they were about cart instead of letting them cart. This can also apply when the monster is targeting you and gives you no chance to attack back. What good is that buff if you can't even have a chance to use it at the moment and would have a better chance surviving by healing and dodging instead of attacking. Some Monsters you can easily counter them when they do that but there are those who will punish you for trying. Point being if your going to use that set learn to heal yourself when needed instead of worrying about DPS and learn to accept heals by others or play offline with that armor set if you don't want heals. It is one thing to get mad when you didn't need the heal but it is a whole different story to get mad when you do need it. :Edit: Also just because someone healed you doesn't mean they were doing it to only heal you someone else could have needed healing. Can't do much about healing items that heal everyone in the group or healing horn or skills that make healing items heal everyone or healing cats. Just because you didn't want the healing doesn't mean someone else in the group doesn't. In fact why are you even playing online because from the sounds of it any form of healing will set you off. Your kinda of play style is more suited for offline not online.
One tip I would give is when you’re fighting a monster that you’re not familiar with it’s okay to play it safe at first and I would advise them to study the monster first and try to get a read on the openings. I have a tendency to play very aggressively and try to counter everything but that’s really not doable unless you really understand the monster you are fighting. It just takes time and practice to get a read on the patterns. Sometimes it’s better to disengage and play it safe and definitely don’t overuse the wire fall because some of the harder monsters will clap you if you try to get up too quickly, take advantage of the i-frames when laying on the ground or superman diving. The skill leap of faith is surprisingly useful so you can superman dive not only facing away from the target but also towards them, so at any time you can dive evade to get tons of invincibly frames
All I have to say is that you don't need to rush you have 50 minutes to fight the monster rushing will only get carted and grab Perma buffs lol.

Actually its super annoying if you depend on permabuffs and spend online game first 5 min hunting those. When you play solo do as u please, but not on multiplayer. Espescially in rise where hunts are over quickly anyway.
Make sure to get those extra 3 drops per hunt by riding the other non quest target monsters :) Love your videos especially when your on your lighter funnier side. Insect Glaive - Bilbobrix
One of the most annoying them I've ran into with randoms is that after getting hit and getting dangerously low on health they'll continue to fight instead of taking time to heal. I feel as if they are just assuming that the other hunters will carry them in the healing department. There's only so many dust of life's we can carry at one time. Just recently I had a person get swatted by magnamalo and had a quarter of their hp left. Instead of getting out of range to heal, they were wirebugged back into the fight. Where they proceeded to get smacked again, almost in the exact same way, in less then five minutes. Then the same person repeated the exact same damn thing after he got carted. Suffice to say, but this kind of behavior is aggravated.

One interesting thing about the wire fall is sometimes you do want to use it, I feel like in this game you don’t get knocked flat on your back quite as often as in World, so your character will start standing up and you might get hit by a follow up attack. So sometimes you do want to get out of there as fast as possible, but other times you want to stay on the ground, it’s kinda up to your discretion how you want to deal with it. After certain attacks though like Rajang’s pin attack, or Narwa’s tail slam, or Kushala’s wind beam you definitely want to wire fall immediately lest you get hit by the follow up attack
i last played this game when it was first ut for psp...just got bac into it again and your videos have been very helpful
My first reaction... the song used.... just went 15+ years behind. Digimon world , man.
As a Hunter who just hit past the 100 hour mark AND hit the Sunbreak portion of the game, I have just recently noticed some of these mistakes for myself and tried to fix them. The Hunter's Notes? Yep, ignored them, until recently and now they save my bacon. Our little hunting critters? I just picked them up and let them sit in my pouch, until I realized they ACTUALLY helped, so I was like, "Crap, I need to relearn some things." (the beetles are my favs~ the lanturn bugs are a close second) But, there is a tip I'd like to add: if you come across a tent/camp and your weapon is dull and you're half alive and your buddies are dying, hop in for a second and hop out. Voila! Health and sharpness restored! HOWEVER it won't work with stamina, so you still need to eat meat to get your energy back up.
Dont forget knowing the answer to a question is easy if you know what question to ask. Please go easy and let people experience learning the game just like you once did, dont breed a toxic atmosphere in a game thats always had a great and friendly community. Dont be self destructive of this game.

I'm fairly new into the game, having sunk in around 60 hours or so divided between Steam and Switch. I've had a few hunts when I send a join request and someone with a rank 100 or so goes in and gets carted twice because they got too smug with their skills. They also ignore capture requests. It wasn't even a particularly difficult hunt: I've only recently unlocked high rank quests, so it's not against endgame monsters. While the vast majority of my multiplayer hunts have been really fun, I'm starting to have more hub quests where I'm better off doing it solo because having bad teammates makes my quest much harder for poorer rewards.
Nice video, it's good to see some helpful tips that aren't the same lame tips everyone else copy pastes into these videos.
I made the mistake of trying to solo all the hub quest thinking that the twins have the same type of quest. Also you really need to concentrate on getting the materials for better armor and weapons otherwise you will just be worthless. I also craft megillah potions and any other high-level healing items to keep on me. And I feel like a lot of noobs should start with the sword and shield because it's the only weapon I'm aware of that you can keep a eye out and use your items to heal
This might be more of late game tip: -If you aim for Fortune skill, it increases chance for extra rewards at end of hunt, make sure you have everything you need on your gear and Decorations. Changing gear or even one Deco DURING hunt removes Fortune skills buff at end of hunt. -Have lvl 1 Flinch Free skill if you know you are going to play with someone with Wide Attacks. Flinch Free prevents your allies from staggering you with their Weapon Attacks so you can evade or run freely if needed. -When you are building your gear, use Wishlist option to track items you need. Use Monster notes to check what part you need to break for high chance for this loot to drop at end of hunt. Parts you have not looted do not show on this list, try to break each part at least once or twice on different hunts or check from internet what parts monster drops.

Bring. Healing. Dust. If not for yourself then for those on the quest with you. If they're not someone you know, you can not trust them to stay alive. And you yourself may find yourself being overwhelmed and you gain a heal from someone else - say thank you! EDIT: Though yes, your current HR gear may not be as viable when SB comes out, still farm monsters. Decos are expensive and Talisman's are an annoying RNG grind. Better to get prepared now than go into MR with little Decos to slot into your upcoming better amour.
Most of the time the traps in the Area are not obvious. Compared to what I played before in World: Iceborne, it’s really obvious before in that game. Now in Rise it’s really hard to see if it’s just a wall or trap.

Another mistake I've seen after changing my "Auto Shout-out": 1: Not grabbing another Monster then go to target just to soften up and drop loot 2: Not relianing on spiribirds. Idk why they see their mistake on cart or they don't care.
So yes DarkHero, you're right, I don't like your last "mistake" because the mistake would actually be to NOT invest in armor of any rank if it helped you advance. There's plenty of incentive to make armor if you have the materials for something that can help you, and almost 0 incentive to save or squander the chances. First off, you have a huge amount of box space in your Equipment box. You have over 5000 slots of box space (100 boxes with 50 slots each). You aren't risking running out of room by making as much low tier armor as you like. Armor Spheres aren't rare, and Zenny is easy to make. You get plenty of both along your journey, and there's never going to be a time where you aren't getting more as long as you're doing your bounties each hunt. (Maybe that should've been your last mistake is not taking time to get bounties). And what are you gonna do with your low-grade materials when you reach high rank? One of three things, make more armor for the hell of it just to use them, sell the mats, or just let them hoard up in your box anyway like every other hunter. So why not make use of them while you actually can use the armor? And to say Low grade armor is useless into high rank is also misleading, as well upgraded low rank armor can carry you half way through high rank or further if you actually thought about your setup. I created a mix set in low rank that was strong enough to actually carry me to HR Malo, beat him, and only when I reached Chameleos was it actually a struggle to keep using the set, so I made a new HR set. Am I saying follow my example and use only LR armor for half of HR? No, but I'm saying it's not impossible nor impractical to still use lower-tier armor into high rank if you know what you're making. And even without my example it really is just absurd to teach newcomers to make armor sparingly in low rank, especially when the game is all about experimentation and making your own builds. Low rank is when you would be learning how to mix skills and learn that armor skills in different combinations are important, while HR is to teach you to incorporate decoration slots for tweaking your builds. Making armor is like.. more than half of the game's experience, even more so than the hunts themselves because the fun of the game is finding new builds that make the game more interesting. Why would you teach anyone not to embrace that?

My personal mistakes: 1. Not using the radial menu to its fullest extent - That shit is a lifesaver through and through, saving you the trouble of digging through your pouch manually, especially if you are a ranged hunter needing to craft ammo. I know its a hassle to set it up but the amount of carts and time it saves in the long run is 1000% worth it. 2. Not setting up hunter loadouts - the amount of time you can save is just staggering as you dont have to set items all the time you want to change a build. 3. Being too reckless - its tempting to go unga bunga on the monster but this 9/10 times end up in wasting more time that it can save. 4. Not using the farcaster - this thing literally saves lives. For example if a risen monster is about to use one of their cheap AOE tricks and you are stuck in a place with nowhere to run, just pop a farcaster. 5. Cheaping out on items - in our current generation, you effectively have infinite items seeing how abundant things are. Dont hesitate to use items to make hunting easier or faster. 6. Relying too much on elemental - while elemental builds are VERY powerful, youll quickly find yourself in a rut when trying to progress the game. Get a non-elemental build as a fit all to progress the game, or the very least dragon because a lot of late game monsters are weak to it. 7. Not using fortify - That shit is a gamechanger. It can change missions that are going to shit to a success due to the crazy buffs it gives you once you cart. If you have a free lvl 2 slot, just pop it.

Here I am. HR 300 MR 200 in MH:W, HR 160 in Rise still watching videos like this just to see of I can do better. Great video. Edit:300 in rise
Tried to get away from magnamalo after getting hit, used wirebug, got hit again. 😂

Ita funny how some things change so much between games. Tri and mhgu had completely different systems than world had and rise is very similiar to world. Player base has grown a lot and thats a good thing, but unfortunately we have now MR 100+ players who either try yo capture elder dragons or still use high rank gear partly :D

@@wayofwatty More along the lines that Elder Dragons are immune to traps making them it impossible to capture them. Can't capture if the traps don't work on them to begin with. You also can't capture Apex who also immune to traps and even though you can use traps on Afflicted Monsters you can't capture them either. Basically if the game says to slay the monster the game won't let you capture it.

For amount of rewards killing/carving is better. But if you're hunting specific materials you should still check the hunting notes. What you need may have a higher chance to drop from capturing or carving.

2:57 I really don't get the choice of phrasing "prepare meals using ingredients that players have gathered or purchased." You just buy the meals, you don't supply the ingredients. At first I assumed you meant the motley mix, but those items don't give the food skill buffs that you go on to talk about the meals giving.
underusing the wirebug is also a big mistake, as a general rule your wirebugs should be almost exclusively used for silkbinds during combat and not wirefalls, and you should almost always have at least one bug on cooldown, if you dont it likely means that you are underutilizing the silkbinds the reason you shouldnt use wirefall is that you get a metric fuckton of s after being knocked back and using a wirefall has a long wirebug cooldown and ends those s early, meaning youre vulnerable sooner, and that means youre more likely to cart and less likely to use a silkbind meaning the hunt is longer and theres less rewards

Yea especially for charge blade. Counter peak performance and the other one cost 1 wirebug and have a relatively low cooldown. Pick up a 3rd wirebug and you'll almost always have a switch skill available. It took me a while to get used to focusing on getting that CPP counter to charge my phials and using the other one to position for easy SAEDs. I just kept on focusing on rolling and charging manually

No way. His Palamute is wearing a Zinogre layered skin, but it's a mod. Mods are PC.
A lot of people love to use offensive skills mainly because they like to see high damage numbers and end hunts quickly. If youre new to the series do not start by using offensive skills. start by using skills that make hunts more comfortable for you. i cannot stress enough how powerful comfy skills can be in teaching someone the game at a better pace. besides, youll have to learn how the monsters attack anyways so why not actually ENJOY the dance that a monster fight effectively is instead of whipping your dance partner across the dance floor into the central pillar crashing the whole building down upon it? after you get used to the game with the comfy skills then thats when you can branch out and see what comfy skills you can sacrifice to add the damage you feel like you need for the more difficult hunts. Examples of comfy skills include Defense Boost, Evade Window, Evade Extender, Constitution, Stamina Surge, Marathon Runner, Mind's Eye, Ballistics, Steadiness, Recoil Down, Reload Speed, Power Prolonger and Quick Sheath to name a very good selection of where to start. Also if playing solo or really having a hard time TAKE FORTIFY! If you fall you just come back stronger and more tanky so you can finish the fight before your third faint!

Yes. I also just put attack skills when i was starting, but then as it goes on i noticed i can finish a hunt with more or less than 20 min. I'm not a speed runner, i actually fool around whenever i hunt so that time is fine by me. With all the fooling around the map i noticed i can finish hunts without running out of time, so i changed some of the skills into comfy skills. I'm annoyed of being stunned so i always put stun res 3. Also divine boost and recovery skills for extra protection.

I did another playthrough of iceborne before this came out. Rise is a cake walk by comparison. To clarify: I don't mean it's not challenging. IMO MHR is less of a grind, and more enjoyable by comparison. I do miss the environments of MHW. If they could combine the ease of progression in MHR with the environments and turf wars of MHW I'd be a happy hunter!
I haven't bought a single potion from trader. Meat at Argosy for Motley Mix, but not a single potion. You guys know you can craft potions literally from the herbs you should be picking up in every hunt, right? Why is every MHR content creator acting like potions are such a hard thing to get that players should remember traders exist? It's far more important for you to tell new players to put barrel bonds at the tail so they aren't the first-hit. Or not to capture every monster. There are millions of things that are more important than "hey, this game has a trader... which you should already know as you're either ignoring the giant speech bubble over his head or you've accepted his tasks already."
