Yes, dont sleep on Pinterest! I was experiencing a bit of a depressing summer slump, so I used my extra time to work on Pinterest the past month, i put in an hour a day on it, and YES, I noticed a big uptik in sales! Had a great 4th of July sales day.

Feel there's been a bit of a resurgence in Pinterest lately, I did notice a bit of a slump last year but now they're changing things up a bit recently and introducing video pins etc., so I'm giving those a try. I do feel it drives a huge amount of traffic to my Etsy shop - or that's what my Etsy stats tell me at least, if those can be believed. I'll keep pinning away and see what happens. What do you mean by personal homepage direct pins, would that be things that just go to the homepage of your website? I get more traffic to individual pages.

I have a Pinterest class, I'm not sure what I have for Pinterest on KZread. There could be some stuff on my tutorials channel but I haven't concentrated on making youtube content about Pinterest because I do that for my class.

I'm not sure how long the whole thing is, I tend to change things around in there a lot to keep it updated. You can double-speed the playback.

Everything I listed in my Etsy shop, I added to Pinterest almost right away. Manually, not through Etsy. I don't get any visits from Pinterest, or maybe one every 30 days. I haven't seen on in a while. I basically used the same title and description as I used in my Etsy listing. What am I doing wrong? BTW, one of my most recent Etsy listings is outperforming my most popular item, in the last 30 days, in both visits and favorites.

Pinterest SEO is totally different from Etsy SEO. Pinning the listings directly isn't the best strategy, because you need to get people's attention when they're on Pinterest, and a listing photo probably won't do that. I added 5 pins. Not one showed up on the search. This seems like a big waste of time. I will not proceed further

That's not how Pinterest works. It will take a few days for the pin to get into the system and a few months to get and real traffic. Then a few more months to get real traffic. If you quit after 5 pins it's pointless for sure.

Not sure what you mean about "if you do the SEO the right way in Pinterest". The only option is to tag an Idea Pin & the tags are extremely limited & poor. Could it be you mean using the right keywords in the title & description?

They got rid of Idea pins, they're all pins now, which is good. SEO in Pinterest includes text on the title, description, text on the image, the board title, the other things on that board, the url the link is going to, and the content of the page the link goes to. That's the first step, and there's more to it than that because of the interaction algorithm that Pinterest uses. But tags are the least of your concerns for Pinterest!

Do men use Pinterest? Yeah, maybe their wives do, but wives tell their men not to buy from me because they will make them one.

@@KaraBuntin At least 75% male. The ladies that buy from me for my main sellers, well, I use 'ladies' loosely, lol. Which is why I offer my basic patterns for sale in my vintage/supply shop; if they are so dissatisfied, they can try to make one, and good luck to them. I wish I got feedback from the pattern sales, as it would be good to know how well the makers have done. Crickets, but I do make sales...

I find that the fastest way to get people to shut up with their complaining is to give them the pattern and tell them to make it themselves if they're so good at it.

pinterest destroys the conversion rate of your listing and store, never use pinterest if you want to sell
