DON'T go to a holiday dinner without knowing these!
Navigating the holidays while on a diet like AIP, Paleo, or gluten-free can be quite tricky! You can easily offend your host/hostess AND all of the other guests without even knowing it. So to help prevent you from making these mistakes (and these are all mistakes that I've made - some.... multiple times, ugh) watch this!

Love these tips! Thanks for sharing. Esp the keep being nice and not preachy. Those are always good to keep in mind. It can be hard not to talk about AIP at times xD cause it has helped me so, so much

Thanks Jill! We are well, thanks! I hope the same for you!
Thanks for the wisdom. I’m on AIP with just a few reintroductions. It’s so difficult socially. I’ve lost friends over it. I dread the holidays. I’m just getting over a huge flare caused by eating tofu - not worth it! Weeks of misery. I wish people understood but they cannot.

I'm so sorry that you've lost friends over this - it's not fair that you've gotten a disease that has robbed you of your quality of life and that people can't figure out ways to still hang out with you that doesn't involve food. It's a a really sad state that our society is in that this happens, but I guess it also shows you who your true friends are - as they're the ones that will stick around through thick and thin for you.
Thanks Michele, I just ate at Wendy's!!!! I needed this!!!!!!

@Michele Spring (Thriving On Paleo) yes, so tonight it is turkey burgers with sweet potatoes.🤩
Have you ever given a carnivore diet a try to heal your Hashimotos?
@MicheleSpring
Жыл бұрын
No, because I have never needed to as the Paleo-ish diet I eat now works just fine for me. (and first AIP to get to that). There is no such thing as healing Hashi's at the moment - just putting it into remission, so I'm completely happy with where I'm at and really enjoy my diet. I like my baked goods, haha 😀

@@MicheleSpring Good for you, Michele! That's awesome! 👍🙂
Well I didn't listen to you and now I'm so swollen that even my watch leaves a horrible mark on my wrist. My back pain came back from the herniated discs and I look like I gained 10 pounds overnight no kidding overnight.

Oh no! I'm so sorry you had to go through that. But at the same time, I find these kind of experiences very informative - you really can't deny that food affects you after this, right? I sometimes think that we all need to go through it to really be sure, to remove any niggling doubt that we might have.... Hope you're feeling better 💕
