Don't Fall for the Mickey Mouse Public Domain Clickbait

Mickey's in the public domain in his Steamboat Willie form. I really hate how the media exaggerates the potential of this change. 95% of Mickey's usage is still exclusive to Disney. But reading mainstream news like USA Today you would think you could start a Mickey Mouse TV show.
I don't hate the idea of public domain tho. It allows for creative uses of older properties. I just wish the creativity is more than bland horror movies and games. Like Winnie the Pooh has been completely wasted so far. Horror takes on old properties is the scourge of humanity

I believe his appearances in Plane Crazy and Galloping Gauncho are available for use as well. And does Disney's trademark truly extent to merely his name as well? "Mickey Mouse" is in all of the title cards for the first three shorts. Also, if im not mistaken - advertising counts for public domain, which would mean his posters count for free gain too. They not only show him with his name but his gloves as well (assuming those posters
