@@VerkingKerng it often depends on the age of the cat and how they've been raised, very skittish cats do not like their stomach touched at all. if you treat your cat very well they may become more comfortable with belly rubs and what not compared to other cats. attention wise, most of the time they want what they want and again if you treat them very well they will want your attention much more than usual. my first two cats do not like belly rubs except for from me, my next cat loves them and I think I learned a lot from the first two - all strays, the first two were thrown out of a car and the third one was hiding underneath my house. I don't know why I explained cats like they're a new concept but it's too late now I've committed to it and in my defense it's 4AM.

Adorable tabbycat... When looking at cats give them some gentle slow blinks, which breaks eye contact and is less threatening... Then cats may calm and even reciprocate the calm gesture in return...❤❤❤

Staring can be defused by long slow blinks and looking slightly away, which cats themselves do to people quite often. To people they just seem sleepy, but the cat is actually saying “I’m not hunting you, which proves that we are friends,” and they appreciate the same gesture in return.

Well there are always exceptions to the rule and this also tends to differ between cat races, as some are much more keen to such things as others and some can get very aggro quick, when the mentioned things happen. But in general this is absolutely right and its not looking pretty, when the territory cat rips his copmpetitors belly to shreds with the fangs and claws and in turn, if you even think of touching them there, they would go berserk at you and even chew your fingers off...aka sink their fangs in. Also Cats always have one goto person, which is usually allowed to go further than everyone else, so what you can do, can be seen as threatening to them with others and they will react accordingly.

My 5 month old kitty LOVES pets! Especially on her head, behind her ears and chin! She loves to snuggle up on my lap and in the crease of my arm, she even rolls over for the occasional belly rub! Lately she has been falling asleep in those places too! She purrs the WHOLE TIME starting from the first pets!!! This made me so happy and emotional, since I’ve only had her for 3 days hahaha! I’m glad I can make her feel this safe and loved in this short time!❤

Thank you for an absolutely top tier playthrough, maybe my new favorite. You had a wonderful balance of cleverness, emotionally connecting with the world/story, and occasional wacky hijinks, which are the things I look for. Even 12 or 13 playthroughs in, I'm still finding new things to appreciate about this masterpiece. For example, the difference between pre- and post-crash Nomai tech you noticed is not something I had fully appreciated before. Welcome to the club of trying to recapture the feelings you just had by watching others experience them. A few playthroughs I can particularly recommend are Materwelonz, About Oliver, Symbalily, Lil Indigestion, and Joseph Anderson, but there are lots of other great ones out there. Looking forward to marathonning your Echoes of the Eye playthrough and Tunic after that (a game I love almost as much as Outer Wilds).

Often when I see a cat on the street they come up and I stroke them a bit and then they flop and start rolling around on the ground. I heard it means they see you as a friend, but if I try to rub their belly they normally look at me weird like "what are you doing?" or start attacking lol

Yeah they are probably wrong for most cats. I guess to much attention can be correct. The staring is really only true with other primates. Which is why it's funny/weird when a cat stares at you because when humans stare at eachother or monkeys in general it's a completely different thing.

Cats can be very different from each other. What he's saying does apply to many cats. A lot of us know cats that have different preferences, but there are many cats that have sensitivities or traits like the ones mentioned and some will have other issues that some cats have and some cats don't. Please respect individual cats differences as much as reasonably possible, especially if it's a matter of discomfort for the cat. Thanks so much

I have a cat that craves attention all the time, one that rolls over for belly rubs often, and one that enjoys aggressive petting. Never had issues with staring into their eyes before or after neutering, nor have I ever been attacked by my cats for anything, just some light scratches when rough housing. Yet according to this video, statistically speaking, I shouldn't have this many examples of exceptions to the rule. Please respect the individuality and differences of cats by bonding with them and learning their individual likes and dislikes.

My boy cat loves to jump on my back while I’m doing push ups and groom my hair lol he wants to do everything with me

My kitty loves getting belly rubs. He rolls over and begs

I’ve had many cats. They all loved belly rubs, didn’t freak out over a stare, and craved my attention. My current cat doesn’t leave me alone. Constantly wants to be pet, rolls over asking for belly rubs.

@@Cj-pc4id same. My cat has never growled, hissed, or scratched me…EVER. I can touch his paws and belly any time and he wont care lol. I’ve even tried to annoy him and make him get mad on purpose but he’s just like “ok whatever” lol. Just a chill, calm cat.

I was thinking the same thing about all 3 of my cats 🤣🤣 2 of mine get mad if you don't have staring contests. All 3 of then love tummy rubs and get offended if you don't. One of them decides to scream from 1am-7am because no one is paying attention to him. 😅

Same. All the ones I had when I was a kid would reposition themselves just so I could rub their stomachs. Like a couple of them would legit notice I had to reach to do it and would get up and move so I wouldn't have to reach lol

🤨Yeah, my cat pretty much does the opposite of everything this guy states. ..🐈From rolling over & constantly demands belly rubs & attention, up to walking up to my face staring me directly into the eyes until I say something or pay attention to the little bastard. 🤔He's right though, if U are talking about an unfamiliar cat. Yeah they aren't going to expose their belly to anyone or thing they suspicious of or they think might attack them (that's most animals). .. U need to pay attention to other factors as well. Like body tensing up, nipping, tail action & possible sounds...etc.. ..It's not as simple as he states. " Giving Them Too Much Attention" depends on the cat's personality.

My cat loves tubby rubs and when i look at my cat she comes over qnd begs for pets and she LOVES attention 😊

And also on rare occasions, if they can't get very, very comfortable with you, it will let you rub its back, showing how much I trust you because I did since most vulnerable area

That's very funny I can relate to that.

Instead of staring at your cat, slowly blink at them. This shows them that your guard is down and they also understand this as you telling them that you love them. If they slow blink BACK AT YOU, that means they love you, too! It’s true! ♥️🐈‍⬛

Here’s the thing one of my cats is old and scared of everyone and we have to be gentle with her, and my other cat is too stupid to argue about anything 😏😅 Also my old cat likes to give me little kisses 😘

If you stare at your cat and do a couple slow blinks, they see it as a sign of you loving them. It worked for my kitten!

Bro my cat will do “bunny” were he rolls over and stares and you until you pet him. He then just fully stretched and lives it

I had to babysit a cat once for a month and honestly it was the most depressing month of my life and I felt there is one more person (or animal) who hates me i realised then I wasn't a cat person and tbh dogs are a 10000000000000000000000000% better

Some cats LOVE belly ribs. When they allow you to rub their bellies, it shows they trust you enough to allow you to touch that "vulnerable area" of their bodies. And, some cats love lots of attention. It just takes determining just when your kitty wants to be left alone. Plus, my kitty doesn't mind being stared at, though we don't stare at her too long. She never gets aggressive with us when we stare at her. There again, it takes knowing your cat. Some might "hate" these three things, but, mine doesn't hate them because she trusts us. However, dilated pupils can mean they are upset or angry. .And, their tummies ARE vulnerable areas. That's why they have a sort of protective sac in that area called a "Primordial Pouch." And, my kitty is more friendly than most dogs I've ever come into contact with. 😻

The belly rubs one is kind of true, but mostly applies to random cats you meet and some skittish pets you might own, a lot of cats will tolerate you or even enjoy getting their belly rubbed, and even if they don't enjoy it most will take it as a sign of play and won't legitimately attack you. Domesticated cats are pretty chill creatures for the most part, and tbh it's rarer than you think to find a mean and aggressive cat. We had a "mean" cat when I was younger but she just didn't like strangers, she was super sweet to us all the time. The other 2 cats I've had since then are super nice sweethearts who would never hurt anyone, and my cat Skitty especially loved belly rubs before he died. Other people's cats I've met at their houses have all been super nice too!! And the personality info for most cats at the pet store say they're complete sweethearts they just can't be around other pets or small children cuz it's stresses them out. Idk sorry for ranting, I just REALLY love cats and I dislike that people always assume they're super mean and cold toward their owners. They're usually just as sweet as dogs but in a much more chilled out manner, and when they do that random biting thing that people talk about they're usually trying to play with you (which is why they do it softly, if they were actually trying to attack you then you'd already be covered in blood).
