Most of those Californians moving to Tennessee are likely conservatively inclined people with money, and they may be a huge blessing to you, and they're looking for friends because they just moved, and they might be a great friend to you if you don't put them off by saying something like that to their face.

First of all, it's not a "state" thing but an urban vs. rural thing. I live in Washington "state" and it's blue because of Seattle and Olympia. Most counties are red, and they are held hostage politically by the progressives in Seattle and the capitol, Olympia. We "fight" in a civilized world by persuasion and voting, and after awhile when the woke cult takes over there is nothing left to do but leave if you are smart. I moved out of Seattle in 2020, but I stayed, for now, in Washington State.

Your local government will sell out to corporations. I've seen it happen in Alabama. I'm from the area. I'm also in my late twenties so I have a much more relevant opinion than this old Rich mayor does. The people coming from other states is a problem, however the housing market is a much bigger problem and the rental market is also a bigger problem than that. People here cannot afford to live here anymore the prices compared to that of medium-sized California cities think about that this is considered Small Town Tennessee yeah you're looking at 2000 on average for an apartment in this area. You can Zillow that for proof, it's absolutely ridiculous and they are destroying red States not necessarily just by moving in them but by making them unaffordable to the local residents and that is really an issue that the politicians don't care about conservatives need to understand this.

They are very financially mobile, and are looking for friends, and would make very good friends for you if you don't begin a discussion for blaming them for the very hell they just escaped from.

What most people don’t realize about CA is that it’s very conservative, but it’s ruled by its leftist cities and coastal liberal elites with tons of $$. I’d also say that most southerners are clueless as to how destructive and devious leftist policies are. They think that the problem is always “over there” and then before they realize it, their school boards have been infiltrated with DEI agendas and local governments are pushing progressive “housing” and climate change policies.

That's the problem here in North Carolina these people move in and they will take a nice rural town and make it a huge City and then they're like leeches leaching out from the city gobbling up anything they can in their quest to be quote-unquote progressive. Meanwhile people who have lived here all their lives worked for what they have pay their taxes are being priced out for these higher income people to enjoy what they feel is their quality of life the rural people and the local people it doesn't matter what their quality of life is anymore

We hear the same thing in Carolina. They say they are conservative. The problem is chain migration. The rest of their liberal family will follow them. Tell that politician to pass an ordinance not allowing a new home to be built on less than an acre.

2:57 mayor the comment about traffic makes no sense. Just because it’s better than most places doesn’t make it better for the community. That’s a liberal thought process that will get you booted out. If we wanted our traffic to increase along with our resources to be stretched thin we would move to California or one of the other liberal towns.

The real global pandemic. Every city, state, and country infected with leftism is in dire need of a miracle. The blue voters fleeing to red areas are only part of the problem too. The education system is so infested with leftists, kindergarten through graduate school is rarely anything but an indoctrination center. We are only a generation away from becoming a completely different country tossing freedom, liberty, free markets and the constitution for feel good slogans, false sense of security, and a one party authoritarian government with The Party’s demands running every aspect of life.

Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom assumed office on January 7, 2019. His second term will end on January 4, 2027. An overview based on people leaving the state. People are leaving CALIFORNIA for various reasons, driven by both economic and personal factors. Governor Newsom has done nothing to turn this around. Gavin just keeps signing progressive liberal bills about everything “under the sun” and does not listen to the concerns of Californians. He is now facing a second recall. HIGH COST OF LIVING: Housing Costs: California's housing market is notoriously expensive. While other states such as New York and Hawaii also have high housing costs, California's combination of high prices, limited supply, and significant income disparity makes it the state with the highest housing prices relative to income. TAXES: The state with the highest taxes in the nation is California. This includes a combination of state income tax, sales tax, and property tax. California has a progressive income tax system with the highest top marginal tax rate in the country, reaching up to 13.3% for high-income earners. The state has a base sales tax rate of 7.25%, which is among the highest in the nation. Local jurisdictions can add their own sales taxes, leading to combined rates that can exceed 10% in some areas. While California's property tax rates are not the highest in the nation, the HIGH PROPERTY VALUES result in significant property tax bills. As of 2024, the average cost of a house in California varies significantly depending on the region, but statewide, the median home price is approximately $760,000. HOUSING SHORTAGE: Limited housing supply and strict zoning laws have led to a significant housing shortage, making it difficult for many people to find affordable housing options. In 2023, California saw approximately 110,000 housing starts. This figure includes both single-family and multi-family housing units. HOMELESSNESS CRISIS: The state has a high rate of homelessness, particularly in urban areas like Los Angeles and San Francisco, contributing to concerns about safety and quality of life. California has the largest number of homeless people in the United States. As of the latest available data in 2023, California ACCOUNTED for about 30% of the nation’s homeless population. The mild climate in many parts of California can make living outdoors more feasible than in states with harsher weather conditions, attracting homeless individuals from other regions. NATURAL DISASTERS: Frequent natural disasters, such as wildfires, earthquakes, and droughts, pose significant risks and inconveniences, prompting some residents to relocate to areas with fewer environmental threats. California typically experiences the largest number of wildfires and acres burned annually compared to other states in the United States. California is frequently cited as the state that experiences the most severe and widespread droughts in the United States QUALITY OF LIFE: Issues like traffic congestion, long commute times, and pollution in major cities can negatively impact the quality of life for many Californians. Otherwise, California tends to rank in the middle to upper tier among U.S. states. ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES ELSEWHERE: Other states offer comparable or better job opportunities, often with lower costs of living and better business climates, attracting Californians to relocate. California’s economy has shown signs of strain recently. The state is in the middle of back-to-back multi-billion dollar budget deficits because of declines in state tax revenue. California’s unemployment rate is 5.3%, which is above the national average and the highest of any state. POLITICAL CLIMATE: Some residents are dissatisfied with California's political climate, which they feel is too liberal or not aligned with their personal beliefs and values. BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT: High business taxes and stringent regulations can make it challenging for businesses to thrive, leading companies and entrepreneurs to move to states with more favorable business environments. RETIREMENT: Many retirees seek to stretch their retirement savings further by moving to states with lower living costs and better tax benefits. These factors collectively contribute to the trend of people leaving California in search of more affordable, less stressful living conditions, and better opportunities elsewhere.
