Most of those Californians moving to Tennessee are likely conservatively inclined people with money, and they may be a huge blessing to you, and they're looking for friends because they just moved, and they might be a great friend to you if you don't put them off by saying something like that to their face.

First of all, it's not a "state" thing but an urban vs. rural thing. I live in Washington "state" and it's blue because of Seattle and Olympia. Most counties are red, and they are held hostage politically by the progressives in Seattle and the capitol, Olympia. We "fight" in a civilized world by persuasion and voting, and after awhile when the woke cult takes over there is nothing left to do but leave if you are smart. I moved out of Seattle in 2020, but I stayed, for now, in Washington State.

I'm from the area. I'm also in my late twenties so I have a much more relevant opinion than this old Rich mayor does. The people coming from other states is a problem, however the housing market is a much bigger problem and the rental market is also a bigger problem than that. People here cannot afford to live here anymore the prices compared to that of medium-sized California cities think about that this is considered Small Town Tennessee yeah you're looking at 2000 on average for an apartment in this area. You can Zillow that for proof, it's absolutely ridiculous and they are destroying red States not necessarily just by moving in them but by making them unaffordable to the local residents and that is really an issue that the politicians don't care about conservatives need to understand this.

Lots of building and construction, especially east of Denver and Colorado Springs. The people there just need to kick out the libs. Moved from California 7 years ago and many of my neighbors too. I love Tennessee, and wish we had done it sooner. Funny even I wish there wasn’t so much growth here. Just don’t bring your garbage baggage with you when you make the move. Respect a different way of life and learn to love the slow smiling pace of Tennessee. Old timers will appreciate you when you do. And if you see smoke, don’t panic. Someone most likely burning debris, it’s not a wildfire.

Many moving out of blue states are survivors, and Republicans who've voted that way all their lives and have gotten sick of losing, and of seeing their communities become living dystopia's. I grew up in the Nashville area many decades ago with family still in the area. Like Atlanta, today if I travel I will go out of my way to avoid Nashville. It has become an absolute over-developed mess losing the charm it once had. I don't understand how area residents stand the ever increasing traffic gridlock without any serious attempt to resolve that problem. About ten years I moved back to the Southeast with the Nashville area in my relocation plan. All it took was one visit to eliminate that idea.
Gallatin Mayor Paige Brown has encouraged unrestrained growth in her town. The result is that the tax burden for infrastructure and schools falls on the citizens of the entire county and we're tired of paying for her developer cronies benefitting from decimating our rural way of life. So yes, we're fighting back. If you move here thinking it's a conservative haven...I've got news for you. We're fighting hard against the uniparty right here. And yes, even the Californian, NYer, Michigander refugees say "Don't California Tennessee". They're sounding alarm bells and digging in to help protect our way of life. We welcome them and their efforts.

Nashville and Memphis were lost causes long before blue state migration. I live in Sumner County and every Californian I’ve met is a MAGA patriot who has fled their former state. What most people don’t realize about CA is that it’s very conservative, but it’s ruled by its leftist cities and coastal liberal elites with tons of $$. I’d also say that most southerners are clueless as to how destructive and devious leftist policies are. They think that the problem is always “over there” and then before they realize it, their school boards have been infiltrated with DEI agendas and local governments are pushing progressive “housing” and climate change policies.

Memphis is blue because of black people, not Californians. 😂 Look at the last several Presidential election maps by county. Tennessee has only become more red in fact.
The farm land and green spaces are being consumed at an alarming rate. I used to live there. Left to take a job out of state and came back to Putnam Co. in 2003. Never regretted not being in Gallatin. Sumner County is overpopulated as are a few of the surrounding counties right around Metro Davidson. The Coasties, mid Western refugees and NE's have found us. Southerners are suspicious for good reason. We don't like to be meddled with and don't like folks coming in and telling us how they did it where they come from.
I'm glad you made this video, I can recall when I was homeless and faced with many things in Life until $75,000 biweekly began rolling in and my Life went from A homeless nobody to a different person with good things to offer!!!!!!❤️

I’m sorry, but, this mayor was approached with concerns from her citizens, and all she had to say was, “suck it up”!??! no solution was presented?! evidently there’s a problem with traffic and she had no approach to improve the infrastructure. Wow, just wow. If I lived in that city, I would not reelect that person.

As a born & raised FL life timer I AGREE so sick of it. Wish they would make a law where people had to live where they are born! Fine to visit other places, but DON'T MOVE THERE!
Because as conservatives we don’t want to live with the nutties that have populated California and we bring conservative family values and want to be a part of a community. I do believe in living according to the community you are moving into because living crazy high like our old life is incompatible with that new lifestyle. I love the simplicity of Ohio and I don’t for one second miss my California life, so I have no need to recreate anything because California still exists even if it has gone down the tubes.

I'd leave a city spiraling into dystopian hell while I still have my home equity, and then move somewhere where I can choose any home I want. Like I left Seattle, bought the home I'm in now, and a rental property in a red state. But I'm a long-time voting Republican who wanted to get his a$$ out of Seattle and preserve his a$$ets as well.
I'm seeing an influx of Biden signs in lawns in Nashville.. and we're seeing alot of California plates... so yea..

Gallatin resident here. Traffic is TERRIBLE. Example 386 @ 109. Infrastructure can’t keep up. The city isn’t even trying. Home prices have doubled? Try tripled. Where there were once scenic views and farmland, there are now houses on top of houses. The creek that we went and played in the 90s? I wouldn’t dare my worst enemy go in there. Tn is f’d.
There goes Tennessee.
I’m north of there in KY. California people everywhere you look. Build 5 new houses? Two or three will be bought by people from CA. As I heard someone else say, you don’t have to go to California. California is coming to you.

Yeah, I live in King County in Washington, and King County is still about 20% Republican outside Seattle. In fact, outside Seattle is still pretty sane and normal. Crossing the city limits into Seattle is like entering the Twilight Zone. City governments matter a lot.
I love visiting TN every July-August. I hope they don’t ruin it. Nashville is already gone.
Ya the economic boom sounds good but when you see the negative effects of it like severe traffic, unaffordable housing, crumbling infrastructure and rude, entitled out of staters. The mayor playing off the traffic like "it's not as bad as..." then names off a bunch of liberal cities, misses the point of those complaining.

I fled Seattle in 2020. I did not flee a circus or liberals. I fled mentally ill zombies living in the open by the thousands, and mentally ill civic leaders who enable it. Then there's the several thousand hard-core leftist agitators who can be brought screaming into the streets when their dog whistle goes off. The old-school liberals just tolerate it, vote for those who enable it, and pretend like nothing is wrong. It really isn't funny at all. I'm a native Tennessean that has been priced out. Weve been trying to buy 1st home for 3 years. 77 bids ALL outbid by CASH investors that just rent the home. Our TN leaders dont care about the natives, they cater to the people moving in from higher cost of living states. Very sad to see Tennessee ruined.
I agree. We left SoCal 25 years ago and we vote red. We had enough brains to know California governance ruined it. Enough people have turned Nashville blue. They tend to be from here, the Northeast, and the Midwest as well. Traffic, overbuilding and crime are getting worse.

Imo, from what I've noticed, Nashville is going more red. Look at all the new laws passed that are anti-left agenda. No air geo-engineering law went into effect 3 months ago and haven't seen a single chemtrail or contrail. Laws that say, "We do not answer to the WHO, the UN or WEF". As this state goes more red, it's emboldening the Conservative majority in the state and passing these laws.

Yup, I'm a conservative who left Seattle and moved to a "redder" part of Washington state (not hard to do), but I bought a house in a red state for the future and am renting it out now. Seattle was OK until 2016, when Trump won and the cultists came out of the woodwork and everything started becoming crazy, as in mental illness. I like sanity so I left, and there are many like me.

@middlefinger1565 I live 10 miles out of Nashville and I have lived 25 miles outside of Nashville all my life. If he is seeing 3 to 1 in Nashville, he's in a bubble. No offense, but metro Nashville votes liberal just like metro Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga and it's only getting worse. So much so that the RNC head in Nashville is a California RINO. We are becoming the what Austin TX has become.
I live very close to Gallatin Tenn., and worry over the influx of blue state idealology.

That's the problem here in North Carolina these people move in and they will take a nice rural town and make it a huge City and then they're like leeches leaching out from the city gobbling up anything they can in their quest to be quote-unquote progressive. Meanwhile people who have lived here all their lives worked for what they have pay their taxes are being priced out for these higher income people to enjoy what they feel is their quality of life the rural people and the local people it doesn't matter what their quality of life is anymore
Nobody wants to be Californicated by newcomers. I have noticed in my Idaho hood that the people coming here from CA are not hard left. They get use to the sound of guns during bird season.
We hear the same thing in Carolina. They say they are conservative. The problem is chain migration. The rest of their liberal family will follow them. Tell that politician to pass an ordinance not allowing a new home to be built on less than an acre.

I feel you. WAY TOO MANY MOVING HERE TO FLORIDA AS WELL. Houses being built so fast & traffic is a NIGHTMARE EVERYWHERE I DRIVE also harder to find items I want at grocery stores

Their politics is not the only problem They are shifting the economy so that those of us who grew up here can't afford it anymore. Highways and infrastructure are overrun. Electricity goes down much more often now. There are more issues with water and sewer too. Our infrastructure, hell, our ecosystem here was not designed to support millions of new people!

I am from Tennessee and I love my state.. but I have moved to Oklahoma and found out all the California people were moving to this small town in Oklahoma and the reason they left California was due to the violence and the economy is so high to live there
Make it uncomfortable for them. If they can move once they can move again. It doesn’t sound like your mayor is on your side
