After trying all the fancy oil dispensers of various materials, I finally went back to my mom's stainless steel wide mouthed container with well-fitting lid and long spoon. Looks classy, lasts forever, easy to clean, convenient to use and healthy! Nothing beats our elders' common sense and wisdom!

I had bought a veggie chopper. If the veggies are of a big size the chopper gets stuck all the time. It was also a great deal of arm work. Once I was chopping carrots and the lid flew off, throwing the contents inside everywhere. After that I have stuck to my good old knife. Easy to use and also chopping with a knife is pure therapy😂

Try using elastic bands(rubber bands)of appropriate size wherever the lids are loose. Using these on med bottles also prevent spills. Can try for gaskets too though I haven't used them in this manner

thinking to do these type of reel from long time..as i don’t t have youtube channel,so it won’t t reach many people nice you have done it ..very happy to see you did...good infact i've purchased many tools n organisers ..got wasted my money..can’t throw or won’t fit our shelves and lies aside in home. yeah..now a days in insta and youtube ,many influencers are doing amazon finds,meesho finds etc and wasting followers to buy and waste money. and they influencers get revenue from promoting that videos. most of the kitchen decor influencers kitchens look beautiful with so many decor items but in practical it wont be comfortable like mainatenance of cleaning and space consumption and i personally feel few kitchens looks so clumpsy to see n work daily kitchen routine,they are best suitable for model kitchens or for display in interior showrooms

Thank you very much, Gauri, for this video. Just use your common sense when buying things. I hardly ever buy these things online. Oil - I use a small, tall steel container with a ladle like spoon that fits inside. My glass bottles have simple lids. For sugar and tea I use glass jars. I buy glass jars with lids that can be replaced easily. I'm still using old jars( some more than 40 years old) with replaced lids. For the fridge tall bottles with screw-on lids are the best. Glass or stainless steel for storing everything. Easy to maintain. I'm almost 70 and experience has taught me to keep things as simple as possible.

Thank you for sharing such video. This is of great help. For oil i use steelwala with plastic lid which is very good. For water bottles ofcourse steel ones. Easy to maintain and it wont break.

I always buy items only on their functionality and even if the item is not good looking and appears old fashioned I go for it if I understand that it meets my requirements. Thank you for sharing your honest opinion about these products. I have stopped using glass and plastic bottles and have reverted to using steel and glass jugs for water. I also purchased clothes drying rack from Amazone and it was delivered in very bad shape, all scratched up and dented. It is always better to buy certain products offline after physically checking these carefully.

Very useful feedback on commonly purchased products ,- thanks - it'll prevent me from spending money wastefully. A suggestion - it's possible that the IKEA toothbrush holder is meant to be a rinsing glass instead, where you can fill water and use it to wash and rinse your mouth post brushing of teeth. Maybe that's why it doesn't have holes underneath. It also prevents water wastage, when people keep the tap running when rinsing their mouth after a brushing.

Greetings from Bangalore. Very useful information. There are so many attractive looking products in the market, conveniently available online that lot of people buy them. Often without thinking how they fit into our lifestyle and practicality. Also most nice looking products / gadgets are used by celebrity chefs on KZread, that one is influenced and gets carried away. Indian kitchens are either traditional or fusion. In urban areas, mostly fusion. There is a need for gadgets and products of convenience so go for them. All marketing promos concentrate on the pros of such products. But think, and check with senior family members or friends to understand the cons. I like your video which is based on personal experience. All those things which you have advised not to buy, I fully agree. I haven’t tried the shirt organiser though. Oil dispenser is a difficult product for us. I prefer to add oil in a spoon, which will allow me to decide how much I add. For that get an oil can, bottle etc which is wide mouthed. I use an old ceramic kettle. It’s mouth is wide enough to use a spoon and also has a spout for pouring if necessary. Has a lid too. Plus this is easy to clean. I have been using glass storage bottles of different sizes and shapes, for more than 30 years now. Every single one has a screw type lid or a clip on lid. No bamboo lid. The washer gets loose and then it’s not air tight any more. Ants and minute flies can get in. Worse we have a tech to lift them by the top and if the lid is loose you can drop the bottle. All my bottles have stayed with me as good as new, touchwood. For masala never go for these boxes, even if steel. I bought a large round steel masala box with nine bowls, about 30 plus years ago. I soon realised that we can’t easily get spoons that fit in to each bowl and close the lid. Or if they fit they are so small that we can’t get enough quantity of masala out. Worse in this case is over time masalas get mixed up. I use a rotary masala stand with glass containers. It is also available in plastic but I don’t like to use plastic especially for food stuff. Again the kids are screw type. One can also get a spice rack fixed onto the wall and place the spice containers. Just so it is easy for us to take them out and use. Remember when we are cooking we often multi task, and don’t have the luxury of re takes😀 For water bottles I use steel one. Safer when children are around. And much easier to clean. I use ceramic coffee mugs as toothbrush holders, but you have a point in using transparent glass. Hadn’t thought of that. I have a problem with wooden knife holder as well. Use them if you are diligent in wiping the knives and scissors ver well after each use before placing in the holder. If not, then like me, use the drawer. And knives on the counter attract children so please be mindful of that. Each one organises the house and kitchen in her / his personal preference and personality. So my suggestions are only that. But think long term and be practical when you spend your hard earned money on anything, especially on gadgets.

I totally agree !! I too had bad experiences in online shopping , yours are jars and containers but I bought plumbing materials like sinks, taps, wash basin for kitchen etc all have some problem or other within 3/4 months after installation !! All these products are very attractive online shopping and I purchased after seeing rating of each product but still have problems !!

Thank you for. making this informative video. Generally the marketing companies hve started promoting their products through popular channels. I feel the channel owners are misleading their viewers in the process to get good rating/income as influencers. I prefer traditional ways since it is time tested and sturdy

Egg organisation Ke liye baaki jagah mein keep lemon...etc which will be seen easily for us😊 Wooden box recycle karna for Keeping cosmetics orfor Earrings/sets etc Organisation things m.useful for People who can't organise like kids or old people who will find it difficult to find things....other wise This way they find it useful... First look around for similar things we may hv if its there.then use it Like glasses lying without use can be repurposed for holding Toothbrushes or Similar things...as per requirement.

Mam, all those jars and glass containers you can later on use as vases or decor diy’s. Ab toh Home centre, IKEA and other shd also consider customer feedbacks and stop these from production or make changes in these to overcome the shortcomings

Really appreciate this video, speaks about your honesty & integrity. Sharing my experiences : - years back I was advised not to use glass bottle to store water in fridge as glass bottles put load on the hinges of the fridge door . - Borosil products have peculiar problems. I bought a tiffin with 4 steel bowls which had plastic lids. If 1-2 lids get damaged, tiffin gets useless, but before that happened, the zipped container in which you carry the bowls is of very poor quality. It started disintegrating badly , so as it is it’s useless. All poor quality Chinese stuff . Majority brands outsource their products in china .
