Yes, they’re both 60W and as far as I could tell they’re equally bright. I’d definitely buy the new one if the fan noise wasn’t an issue for me

Thanks for the great video! :)) Still chose the Mark II as I really like the design (the fan noise doesn’t really matter for the videos I make) :))

Thanks for your comment - I guess mine might have been an exception, but when I emailed Godox they did agree it was noisier than the old one and I found it completely unacceptable for my use.

How loud was the fan and does the sound get picked up by the mic?

I probably should have recorded the noise before sending it back - I’ll know better next time! Yes, the noise was too loud not to be picked up by the mic. You could gate it out, but that’s a lot of extra work and I also film while recording things like violin, which would be out of the question. It might not be an issue for everyone

@@drumasterscomposer Thanks. You said "not to be picked up by the mic." you mean the sound was picked up right? How far away from the mic was the the light? Also how loud was the sound when picked up by the mic and did you run the lights at 100%?

@@Maxiixam20 haha, yes, it was being picked up by the microphone. About 3m away, noisy enough to sound unprofessional, light on 30%…

@@Maxiixam20Godox told me that the new version is louder than the old one, which is why I made the video to let people know and why they didn’t replace the unit
