Be careful buying used, that's for sure! Best budget option would be to buy a totalled F Body and use it all for the swap.

Yup, the Planted seat brackets are kind of a pain. And whatever paint they use just flakes off.

I think their design is good, install was pretty easy with good bolt access (not great). The paint or coating was not great though.

I bought a set of those same seats from eBay in cloth version and I've had them for years with no issue. But the issue you had with the seat is the reason I went with cloth to begin with. Fake leather always peels.

Love the seats!

It is so great when shit just goes together as advertised. I just got done with the AEV Highmark install on my ZR2. Aside from the insane amount of work, the directions were mint, the templates were accurate, and the fenders fit up perfectly and look great. It was nice to not have to modify something to put it on.

Everyone I've seen that installed those said it's an insane amount of work, which I believe! I like those a lot, I just wish they were slimmer or more like the OEM flares.

@@matt13ross Once you get the 35s under them they look more appropriately sized. I am already toying with the idea of 37s now that the lift is in my garage lol.

Going to do a gearing change too? I don't think I'd want bigger than 33s with my diesel and stock gearing.

@@matt13ross Yep. 4.56 gears are on order as we speak. I did notice a slight reduction in throttle response with the 35s but that is to be expected. The tune makes up for a lot of that lost power but it is still there. I am currently running through one entire tank with GPS tracking to get an accurate MPG drop so we will see the actual impact of before wheels vs after wheels vs after new gears and trans-tune to make all the gauges right.

So you got one that is the XL size for the passenger and one Regular size for the driver? How does both of them fit overall? Prefer the XL over the Regular fit?

Yup exactly. Regular is tight. I’m about 5’11” 200 lbs. it’s still comfy though. I’m at the limit of it though

Glad i passed on the cheap seats. I hope my corbeaus don't peel like that. Looks like the same pleather my computer chair is made of.

Planted seat brackets plus sliders.

I bought the same kind of seat off of eBay, less than a year of the ownership the welds at the bottom of the seat broke causing the seat not to stay up, very unsafe, i contacted the seller but no help was offered ATM

**Simplicity** was the goal of this build. Generally, a simpler build is more reliable. I will have another turbo car, just not a turbo LS E36.

32” ish. The regular size is pretty tight though

If u ask me minus the faded etc I think the seat does its job eBay or not eBay some o are just as fucking bad if not worse , also surprised it held the weight of the truck
