    Essentially, they sound a bit different because they have different bandwidths (frequency response) and, depending on the feedback used, could have lower THD. Increased feedback to lower THD does not come without negatives, such as transient distortions, or time domain distortions.

    Excellent video!! I have the Sparkos Op Amps in my J2S DAC (AK4499) and Archel 3 Pro Amp (Zebra wood stack) and the Sparkos are definitely working some magic. I highly recommend upgrading to the Sparkos Op amps if you don't have them in your DAC or Amp

    I don't even own the DAC, but this was well explained enough I feel I could do the swap. I'm just curious about audio gear, otherwise I'm not sure what put this in my recommended. The KZread recommendation algorithm is funny like that. (Sounds like this is a small family business, how cool is that? Glad to hear small companies are still making it in the audio business in this day and age. I will have to consider your company if/when I am in the market for new audio gear.) Best to you folks.

    So I definitely broke one of my OPA op amps. One of pins snapped off during removal. I realize the feet on the wooden boxes are screw on feet but I think something similar on the aluminum box would be nicer than just the rubber bumper feet. I love my J2S with the AKM 4499 and Sparkos SS2590 on all outputs.

    I think it's great when young people are taking the lead in Hi Fi. For the most part it's just been us old guys. I worked on office machines for 40 years and I can tell you from experience what an op amp smells like if you put it in wrong, and the smoke color. LOL

    Off subject, but can you leave your J2S "ON" all the time? Or do you recommend turning it off after a listening session? Just curious if it has some type of "stand by" mode. Good video.

    The E2 doesn't have socketed op amps but the new E3 does come standard with the sparkos 2590's if you wanted upgraded op amps!

    That was just for the video to show how to put each different op amp in. You can use 2 of the same op amps for the XLR and different on the RCA if you wanted! Common example would be opa 1656 on the xlr and sparkos or burson on the rca.
