I noticed an important thing at the end of your message. Your successful videos have one thing in common, they are always the types of videos the masses want to watch, like your vids about skincare, hair, or travel/passport bros etc. I see why certain KZreadrs “sell out” by making videos that are trending nowadays as those videos get the most views and money. Props up to you for making different content instead of taking the route that many KZreadrs take.

I definitely could've capitalized on some of my more popular videos, but I always tried to put the value first. It cost me quite a bit of money, but it's been MUCH more fulfilling. I appreciate the love!

Just be careful that you don’t become overly analytical and focused on views. Your less viewed videos might generate less money but that doesn’t mean they make a smaller impact on your audience, especially your core audience. Don’t ever sacrifice your authenticity for the sake of success or monetary gain

Jordan, a lot viewers don't seem to understand, you're pivoting to think of youtube as an entrepreneur vs content creator. Entrepreneur make videos that alligns with their product, whereas content creators try to please the algorithm and go viral. Your viewers think views are all there is. Your main problem is that you don't have your own flagship product where you promote every video. I could be wrong, but I get the feeling you're working on one. Don't haters get to you, there's no shame and staying at your gf parents house and not work a 9-5 while you build your skills and income up.

When working for others, I have found that the jobs where I have known or have felt comfortable with my boss and fellow workers were the jobs I thrived in so having a sense of comradery with others is the key for me on determining where I would work and if that ever failed me, then I would look to becoming my own boss!!!

While everything you say is true, there should be a balance in between grinding and a social life. Or matter fact, establish a Scheduele for yourself where your inputting time for certain areas of your life (tip: wake up earlierh).

Balance is good for peace of mind and wellbeing, but there will always be someone willing to put in the work/sacrifices that you aren't. If you're okay with that, then it's definitely worth it to sacrifice some growth for peace of mind.

  • @6riannn

I’ve been doing some research on the idea of business and putting in the grind. However, is the dark truth of it all being so selfish of yourself that you to put all your effort to your craft? Or in other words, can’t you be selfish in a positive way rather than a negative way? - Or that wouldn’t make any sense.

Jordan I want you to repeat after me "It's okay for me to work a 9 to 5 job if my business isn't doing well". Repeat this phrase 3 times. Jordan, im giving you a reality check. You cant mooch off your gf's parents forever dude. Eventually youre going to need to move out and if your youtube still isn't doing well then you will need a part time job bro. There's no way around it. Stop living in your fantasy world and grow up dude. This was why you ended up homeless dude. You seem to completely lack any perception of reality and how the real world works.

@@dee4eva He's not fine bro trust me. He has over 100k subscribers and isn't even getting 1,000 views on some of his videos. That is an abysmal rate to have. At some point he's gonna have to wake up and face reality. I think it's his ego that cant handle the thought of him working a 9 to 5 job and just sees it as something completely beneath him. If he had gotten a part time job in the first place when his KZread channel started declining he wouldve never ended up homeless...

I appreciate the advice 👍🏾 Thankfully, what you see on KZread only constitutes a very small portion of my life. I'm currently furthering my self-education so that I can provide my future self with more options. As for working a 9-5, I'll stick with the freelancing/entrepreneurship route. That way, I can control my income and my time. ALSO, just want to note that I'm paying monthly rent to stay here. No mooching here 🥂

Couldn't you make the content you want on your other channels? If i remember correctly, you have the poetry one and the unfiltered one. I don't know what your recording schedule is like (especially since you switched to making a video once a day), but you could split up your content among the channels. Make what you have to on this channel and post what you want on the others. One of your channels has over 1000 subs, all you have to do is get to the watch time requirement and you could start getting paid over there as well. Like I said, I don't know what your work schedule is like and I don't want to project anything, but I'm kinda picking up a feeling that you're getting burnt out. I know this is your main source of income, but don't drive yourself crazy trying to please the algorithm. Love the hustle, but make sure you're in a good place. I hope you're doing well and everything works out! 💯
