In this video on a trip down to see my son in Charleston SC, I made a hope and a prayer stop at Baker Mercedes Van Center to see if they could get rid of the amazon programming that was installed in my van. Our van which is a 2019 Sprinter van that used to be a amazon delivery van, had three annoying issues, the doors lock automatically every time you shut the doors within 16 seconds, the speed of the van was limited to 75mph, and the Radio did not work with all the features. Mercedes put out TSB L154.21-N-075296 which talks about the removal of some of the amazon programming. None of the aftermarket two way scan tools will do this and it has to be taken to the dealer to have the upfitter module recoded.
The folks at Baker in Summerville, SC were awesome, i pulled in without an appointment and they were able to get me right in and fix everything within an hour. it does cost an hours worth of labor which at a Mercedes dealer is insane, but well worth it to not get locked out, to not have to pull the fuse to the module every time I parked the van for any period of time, to be able to pass cars at interstate speed on the highway.
As the technician explained when you go to the dealer make sure they know that the speed governor has separate coding than the autolock and radio codes and if they have not done a van before they need to get that coding from Mercedes corporate.
there is also the issue of the back up camera system now not being powered by the upfitter module, but all it takes is a simple 12v power source to the camera feed and it works again, i honestly took me 15 minutes to make it work again. mercedes estimates two hours worth of work to fix it for you, just FYI
