who the hell could thumb this down? wth? i was always amazed (and still am) that she always did a 2 ft landing onnher BHs; most did stepouts for good reason.

What I admire most is despite all the difficulty, you instantly get a feel of her unique artistry where gymnast of this era did not follow a certain mold. Very pleasing to watch

i think she would give Simone a run for her money. She is great,

I think we should go forward with them, because that’s what ALL of them are trying to do. I love Dominque as well. They’ve survived and they need to start healing, because they have molestation issues to deal, and only God knows what else. Let us all start healing, both those who do or don’t like Simone.

I’m loving the fact that I’m at 34 year old who’s now having conversations with my 13 year old about Dominique. She happens to be one of her favorite gymnast I’m loving it☺️

She's amazing, balance beam was always her strongest. I remember the 96 Olympics in Atlanta she definitely contributed a great deal to that, she's very strong.

Tim Daggett is soo ridiculously pro-Shannon Miller and anti-Dawes throughout this competition and the '93 Nationals. No wonder Dawes was quoted as saying that she likes to watch routines with the commentating muted.

What would the start value of this routine be today? Such amazing gymnastics! DOM was far ahead of her time! This was almost 20 yrs ago and i can't see any of our current gymnast able to handle the difficulty of this routine. Maybe the world champion Biles, but i doubt the three layouts are within her grasp!

Simone has always said her double layouts on beam are easy for her....so I bet adding another wouldn't phase her! I'd like any of those back then to try a double double off beam!

@@Hervinbalfour Simone has improved with an unprecedented voracity since 2013 when I made comment. Of course the simone of 2020 could pull it off but in 2013 I wasn't so sure. This is a testament to her incredible rise to being the goat. Dawes will always be a legend as well!

Back when difficulty was ignored. Her fx, BB, and Ub more difficult than miller. Yet she would lose based on small deductions. She would have wiped the floor with 99%of the gymnast back in her day if difficulty was awarded.

I was always amazed that she could fit in 3 loso, considering she was a bit taller

Under the new scoring system Dominique Dawes would have placed a lot higher. Her start value was always higher than most. Interesting how different her place in history would be all because of scoring.

Its worse in person unfortunately. He picks his favorites and its like damn everyone else. Shannon was his pick but this nationals was daweses she owned it . I was there and it was the most amazing meet she ever had . Tim is still the exact same unfortunately.

What I will say about the race card is gymnasts like Okino/Dawes had to go above & beyond to prove themselves to get the notoriety w/USA gymnastics Notice i said USA & not World/Olympic competition what Tim should have brought up was was Diane Durham

Uh, no. Dawes did a double turn. Okino was known for her elegant double turn, and could do a triple too. Are you that fucking dense?
