She's still the most exciting to watch, hands down

She medaled in three consecutive Olympic team finals and was the first black woman to win an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics for the US. Dominique Dawes, always and forever the G.O.A.T 🐐

In her time she WAS great but Simone is the Real G.O.A.T. No one could touch her. Now we wait to see if another comes along who is better. I do hot think its possible.

@@1erniedee I agree to an extent. Where Simone is a stand out is she is doing things only men could do before. It will take a woman with similar stature and mental capacity and be able to avoid being injured to take her place as a GOAT. Greatest of all time. Simone has stolen that title from Dominique. Its like a world record. We now wait and see if anyone can steal it from her.

Not many gymnasts in history get a standing ovation. She was and still is something special.

@Tim Roberts I just showed this video to my 6yr old niece who likes to tumble. She loves doing splits and flips and is actually self taught since 2yrs old and really good. I told her that the Dominique was the G.O.A.T. and that because of her...the "back to back" pass was banned from the Olympics, and my nieces response was "Why....because they suck?!." 🤣🤣🤣

she was underrated at the time. its only been fairly recently that people have figured out just how freaking talented she really was!

Not many ever got standing ovations but this one was well deserved

My favorite hands down. And never seen anything like that since. Dominique Dawes went on to be a part of The Magnificent 7, they set the bar so high for any other U.S. team after them.

What I love is that she does an excellent job with clean tumbling passes and many skills but does not lose the artistic element like you see so much with today's gymnastics.

I joined gymnastics because of her! love her!

She was awesome. Artistry & power. Grace, fluidity, & athleticism. So rare for a gymnast to possess the talent she had. Loved her.

That’s y they call her Awesome 😎 Dawesome !! and she grew into a beautiful woman !

Literally just listened to an interview she did about protecting children and athletes especially in gymnastics

I wanted to be just like her as a kid! I remember being in awe of her❤️

2:47 - She adjusted and added an EXTRA element to her tumbling in the middle of it to make the double back work!!!?!?! 😲 That level of gymnastics mastery... I have no words! 🤩👏🏆

Dominique you were the best on the floor exercise - so exciting to watch even today no one does the floor better!

This is so much more entertaining to watch than the routines today.

I have been watching gymnastics since the '70s. I kinda got away from it but I do remember being amazed by Dominique Dawes and a few others.

She was and still is my favorite gymnast of all time. I wanted to be her as I did cartwheels in my room watching her perform. There wouldn’t be a Gabby Douglas or a Simone Biles without Dominique. ❤️#representation matters

Love, love, love. Not only astounding power - she has grace, flexibility, and exciting choreography.

Loved how (when she'd do a back flip routine across the floor), she'd finish it off with a front flip, then do a round off, and back flip across the floor the other way. Loved seeing her do that! Still, don't see that too often these days. That just showed how awesome she was:)

Perfection! She was an inspiration then and even now today. 👸🏾🏆🏅

I remember watching her career. She was so amazing. I love those runs where she goes one way and then flips forward and goes back again! What an incredible gymnast.

She was so amazing! I wanted to be a gymnast because of her even though my parents never let me, they thought it was too dangerous...but she was always my role model when I was growing up!

She was the best gymnast in the 90's and I've followed her through her career. She has paved the way for African Americans in gymnastics. I am definitely proud of her. I've always wanted to see her personally. Today I am 51 years old and wouldn't mind seeing her and telling her that she has done a great job on this routine. A PERFECT 10+.

She was legendary the first black girl with major achievements that I personally ever saw in gymnastics. I remember when they had the gymnastic Barbie I named mine after her

the fact that she was this perfect, this refined, and this powerful during a time where all gymnasts were starved and heavily worked to the point of never developing past a prepubescent body is incredible. truly one of the best of all time.

I adored all of the girls that became The Magnificent Seven but Keri and Dominique were my favs. As a young Black girl, it was everything to watch Dawes execute such high caliber gymastics and to look like me. It was EVERYTHING. She inspired so many young girls to pursue this sport, from Gabby Douglas to Simone Biles, now History Makers in the Sport because they were looking up to this Gal. Dominique Dawes is a National Treasure to America and a Superhero to the African American Community. We adore you.

I remember Dominique Dawes I've been watching Olympics since 19 65 I'm so proud of my brown people stepping up their game in the Olympics. I love the Olympics. There's a lot of heroes out there and the Olympics give all who wants to challenge their strengths their minds and bodies I love their accomplishment and the rewards they receive no matter if it is a bronze, 👍🏾✨🏆
