    cave movement penalties should be tied to dark vision. If you have dark vision you dont get movement penalties in caves. Or reduced movement penalty for partial dark vision

    The survivals do work in caves, mountain survival helps you in crystal caves, forest survival helps you in cave forests, ETC.

    true! we only learned that after we had recorded this episode. However its kind of goofy that cave natives have no movement advantage underground.

    6:15 I *love* how illwinter nerfed Life after Death into the ground but it still costs FOUR death gems to cast! I love paying a bunch of gems to do absolutely nothing during a fight now...

    The "NERF NERF NERF" approach they have sometimes is aggravating. Half the fun in this game is all the clown OP shit basically everyone can end up doing.

    Glad you guys are on the same page on heroism. I've always seen it as a very Crunner strategy. AKA, it's really good when everything goes your way and your opponent is doing nothing. In this scenario, the situation where you have many XP stars and they have none. As Nicknight pointed out, if you lose your big stack the bless is useless for recovering. I like the change on the flying demon serpent things because of death poison. I do wish everything had scaling, especially spine devils.

    We aren't on the same page on heroism though. I max that shit even given the downsides, and then there's a sliding scale of opinion down to Nicknight, who thinks its overrated.

    This episode is a much better view on the Dom 6 because of the recent updates, changes did happen a bit.

    My hope for blood is to make more blood spells that don't need slaves but instead hurt the caster.

    That would make a cool Blood-Nature synergy with regen. Maybe it costs %HP to balance it for casters with varying health pools.

    Regarding low level blood being lackluster, the addition of Hell Ride to give blood mages a teleport is a huge addition. The range is only 3 provinces, but blood pendants give a cheap range boost once you hit construction 7. I think the blood troop summons got enough of a buff, although scaling would be nice. Still waiting for that hellfire buff, though.

    I've been doing a lot of EA Agartha and I usually go with a mage bless/olm bless, andI haven't had the issue with shade provinces you guys spent a long time talking on. But I can see how that could be an issue for Xibalba or Abysia.

    The bit about complaining about default settings, but always playing with them anyways is so true. Dominions 5 had scaling for independents if people wanted it to be harder or easier, but I believe I only saw default settings. I hope with Dominions 6 we get more games with different game settings to shake things up even if that means the "meta" might change for that game. The Age of Empires community runs a large number of different maps, game settings etc. and I wouldn't mind seeing some more of that with Dominions. For example, want to play a some wonky game where you start with 8 provinces but indy strength is set to max with only level 3 thrones? Go for it. You'll definitely have a unique game

    Blood heal may have casting AI challenges with using it; the Sabbath Master who's supposed to cast it is probably at full HP. I will mention Leeching touch, which would be a fantastic spell for any pure B blood mage with a thug chassis put on advance and cast; but that mage basically doesn't exist in vanilla... They basically all have some other path that they'll fatigue themselves out using.
