Dominions 6 Communions SIMPLIFIED

Ойындар

A brief overview of Communions, Sabbaths and even Choir Choruses. These tools are VERY difficult and confusing to use, so I'm going to simplify them for you, and put them into a quick and easy format, so that when you DO need one: you have it available.

Wow, that was really fast. My heart almost broke when I saw the losses Niefelheim suffered because of those pesky mages. Luckily, they made up for it later, lol. Still, the question remains: who would win - a group of gray-haired old men trying to scrape the last bits of magic from their bones, or a single Jotun casting All-consuming Pyre?

Great question! In Dominions 6 especially, it really boils down to current research levels. A Jotun with the applicable Phoenix Pyre would suffer if the old men had access to Mind Burn, Soul Slay, or anything resembling those astral thaumaturgies. In general, giants are great against armies: weak against mages I'd say, so I'd vote on the old men in this one :P

Minor issue I have at around 6:50 in the video, you're definitely casting some late game spells with this communion. Army of Bronze, for example, is Alteration 9, and not a weak spell at all.

Very true! Army of Bronze is a pretty big boi! Though now it only grants +13 nat. prot to allies, so we'll see how these high level spells feel impact wise in the meta nowadays! Thank you so much for the feedback! Greatly appreciated!

Don’t think it was clear emphasized, but Communions, choirs, and sabbaths are now considered separate groups instead of mixing unlike Dom5. In a way, dose make managing multiple types of communions easier and a actual thing if your nation has access to them. Makes scripting to avoid fatigue burnout then casting off path spells from slaves.

Yep! Kind of figured with a new-ish guide most players would either be new (and not know that communions combined in dom 5) or experienced (and would know). I'll remember that in the next video, and try to emphasize it (advanced communion guide, etc). I haven't (yet) found too many places where its applicable, as the strength of the communion is an exponential thing (in terms of size) so I've found the bigger communions to be better than multiple smaller ones, but it DOES open up the possibility of nuking the battle with one HUGE spell (with only, say, 1-2 slaves in a sabbath) while maintaining a turbo communion separate from that, or something that lasts longer to maintain the ending of the fight! Great thoughts and thank you for the comments!

About the slaves dropping out of choir, sucks they bail when they reach 100%, dropping the power of the master. Some people consider this a tactical boon in some scenarios, a way to get self buffs on a bunch of mages, and after you finish casting your big spells, you have tons of smaller (and probably _ power spell buffs) spamming more spells once they wake up. (Though staking reinvigoration is probably needed).

Couldn't agree more! I hate that they drop out, because I know its "safer", but in general with communions, I calculate out how to USE the unconscious state of the slaves to maintain a longer battlefield strength with those masters. Dropping out can be catastrophic, especially if it means you didn't expect it/calculate for it, and your masters are now (on script) knocking THEMSELVES out.

Haha, I know! Darn Dominions for being so great and complex... truly the hardest part is whittling this all down into super condensed bits of information for our reference! Thanks so much for the comment, I truly appreciate all of them!

Well, don't forget, achieving a growth 4 scale will convert to forests (and plains if you have "order" scales I believe), and growth 5 I believe converts BOTH plains and farms to forests, but you have a chance for order to lead to farms. I'll look more into this shortly. Level 9 Evocation has an Earth/Water spell that converts a land province into a water province. THAT'S pretty interesting to use too, if you have the paths for it. There are a few, but I agree with you completely: it would be really neat to have a few more. I'd just worry that the meta would shift into surrounding yourself with pure (insert province type here) so that you could maximize your income, etc. Still, thank you so much for the feedback and comment!
