I would like to add that ma machaka has a tons of discounts on items (5 items) and access to dwarf hammers, so one should take that into consideration too.

Yeah thats interesting the lion pelt you can get for 2 gems with a hammer (its only 3 without a hammer). That could definitely make some of your cap E mages pretty thuggy. Im not really sold on any of the other national items.. bane blades, spirit mask, totem shield - those seem pretty meh in most circumstances even with the discount. That said I could see spirit masks being used on bane spider assassins.

*Haven't finished the video* Voice of the lord (lvl 2 priest) is the best commander you have, it shares 80 leadership like the other commanders. However, even though it has no armor, much like mictlan mage-kings, it has 18 move compared to your spider commanders with 14 move (more mobile, meaning better map move/raiding), and it is much cheaper in upkeep which considerably helps your econ long-term. Plus being holy, synergies well with the spider spam.

Why not use the Spider Knights more? They are actually cheaper in both gold and resources than Heavy Cav usually is, not to mention the Death Poison on the Fangs, and the web spit. Other than not having a lance charge, or being blessable they aren't that much different than the Black Hunters (maybe you can't recycle them, but it is going to be a major pita to take Hunter Spiders back to the capitol to get new riders, I probably wouldn't bother doing it). You know, based on what you have said, and what pops into mind looking at the db inspector, I think I'd probably play this nation wiithout using the sacreds at all really. Just doesn't seem like what you could get with the Black Hunters is that good compared to the four or so Spider Knights.you could recruit anywhere for the same price. A lot of times I like to take an elemental bless on sacreds that aren't ... overwhelming and use them as blockers that can take being fireballed or whatever. These Black Hunters are so expensive not sure I would even bother using them in that role as compared to Terra Cotta Soldiers or something. My two cents.

Actually try it out and report back :) I could see that working, but spider knights have 17 prot vs the 21 of the black hunters, that makes a pretty big difference vs indies. They will also produce pretty slowly at the beginning - so you'll probably get crappier units until you clear your cap circle. But yeah that could definitely work - the black spiders are kinda diva's but in a duel its often best to go really aggressive early. The other problem with going full scales is that your mages are kinda meh, what gets me really excited about scales is having really good non cap mages. But yeah i could see a scales spider knight strat working. It might be the best strat for a serious MP game combined with an imprissoned rainbow or something.
