Thanks for posting your videos Zan! It's always great to see more Dominions from people who can explain their thought process and strategy well. You went for a build here I never would have expected! But since you explained what you were thinking well it makes sense why you went for it, and I'm looking forward to seeing if it serves you well during the game. Also, appreciate you doing both a nation overview video and a Pretender design video too. It's great to hear people's different perspectives on nations. For instance, you had more positive things to say about salamanders than other reviews of Abysia I've seen. It will be interesting to see if you can use them effectively during the game. It would be great to see more overview and design videos from you for other nations too! Speaking of your nation overview, very insightful comments talking about the focus on Warlocks as opposed to the fire mages for Abysia. However, one thing you didn't mention were the national spells, like Summon Spectral Infantry or Infernal Breeding. You mentioned how good the Fire Flare attack of Salamanders are, and I believe Infernal Breeding can get you crossbreeds with the Fire Flare attack and some other interesting things like giants. For the Pretender design, you did a good job explaining your reasoning for the build. It certainly gives powerful sacreds! It's interesting because I've not seen the Death scale much outside of Popkill nations. Even with the reduced impact Abysia gets, since you'll be bloodhunting with Turmoil meaning patrolling kills more pops and Warlocks having high upkeep since they're expensive and not sacred are you worried about a gold bottleneck? Also I had never actually used Cave Grubs before, so it was great to hear there's a real use for them. If you know other things like that people tend to overlook that's another topic it'd be great to see a video about! Thanks again for uploading your videos! Best of luck in the game. Hope we get to see more like this from you in the future!

Oh boy! This is the comment, the one that melts you! Thank you so much! (Melts you, Abysia, get it? Sorry) I cant promise to be the best player, but I can definitely do my best to explain my stance on something! At the end of the series I will definitely add a 'Final Thoughts' video to outline mistakes I made, and how I would have designed things differently. I hope to record a few more series' soon too. I have a tri-disciple game that I am unpacking which may come up soon because it was absolute chaos. I think I can use the age old saying of "No plan survives contact with the enemy." Without spoilers, I had to pivot to things different than my original plans quite a few times over the series. Its still ongoing, but I definitely have a ton of mistakes people will see already; and hopefully point out so I could improve! I'm not going to lie, I did not go over spells and summons because I honestly didn't (and still don't) know how to use OBS very well to record other tabs or edit videos. I have also been deathly terrified of long videos and boring people with my rambling. In the final thoughts video I will definitely explain my stance on them, especially inferno breeding. In my short time in the dom5 community I can guarantee one thing, I tend to have very different views on nations, units, items, and spells than most other players. So I can only promise you the the most unorthodox of strategies most of the time.

@@ZanGames Your analysis is not boring. It's concise and to the point. We're here for the dominions content to begin with, and if you're not spending five minutes explaining that a stealthy leader can lead stealthy units then I think you're fine 😉

I think unaging may be worth considering on Abysia, if it affected the warlocks I think it would be almost necessary but unfortunately they aren't sacred

The absolute best one in my opinion is half-dead. The problem is D as a path doesnt have the greatest bless options. Half-dead simultaneously removes the need of your sacreds to use supply, and makes it so disease wont kill your mages. Disease can still maim them, but they wont die.

I take stygian flesh instead of barkskin (the same as barkskin except for fighting magical weapon) so I can take unaging. It helps a lot to have fire mages not old. Warlock can cast spell for age reduction. Not optimal but I just dislike old age mages.

Wow I love all the synergies with fate weaving you have here. Fateweaving affects MR rolls as well. So your soul slay communions will benefit from it too.

Hey @Zan, are you still a big fan of this nation? Been trying it out in dom6 with a similar pretender to yours - but it's now possible to have a Fateweaving + Beserker + Barkskin bless on Lava Warriors, Awake, Dom8, with not great but not terrible scales. Lave warriors get up to 25 prot and 27 damage once beserk - and fateweaving ensures they'll be competetive all game, it's quite impressive. What do you think?

Hey, yeah! Stil love my Aby. Will do my tutorial series with them as a result. I dont know how much mp ill do with them. I played them A LOT in dom5 and want to diversify a bit in dom6. Also, i recommend hardskin over barkskin as it stands rn. Its 1 prot difference but scales better when you have access to stoneskin/ironskin Big tip right now if you start a game and run into some hard targets. Its not common knowledge yet i think, but salamanders are REALLY good in dom6. REALLY GOOD. They are size4 and thus wade through your infantry line.
