Hello. This might the last game of Dominions 5 I record, as games have stopped filling up ever since Dominions 6 was announced to be releasing later this year. I started recording this series a long time ago, but then suddenly had to move and deal with a bunch of other issues and long story short the middle portion of this series is it a bit rocky because of that. I'm imagining the demilich as bones strung up as windchimes (a harmless instrument the weather can play). Somehow, it would play 'Danse Macabre' anytime the wind blows. Interesting pretender. It seems to have the scales and bless you were looking for. This should be an interesting game if you were feeling it.

The plus side of the pretender build is that it can get tartarians out and healed. Which would complete the meme.

This is the series where Mu demonstrates to everyone why Reanimators is terrible. Very educational! Fomorian sacreds are fun with a repel bless. They have very long weapons, so with a high attack skill they repel most attacks by most foes. That curse nerf on the giants is a big oof, though. Luckily the pretender can cast Gift of Health (and summon tarts as well)! Usually you'd give the Demilich a path that lets it move. With some air it can trapeze onto an army and wind of death it. The demilich will of course die but it's immortal so it doesn't matter.

Can immobiles actually use cloud trapeze? I thought they were limited to teleport

@@Stridshorn Some immobiles have an invisible tag that forbids teleportation magic. Betyls for example can never move no matter what. Other than that trapeze and teleport should be functionally the same. I'm pretty sure I've trapezed demiliches before, too.

Oh Sick, Fomoria is super strong, Mu should do quite well with it. Edit: right, nerfed in a mod. Although modder changing things into something argumented as more "lore friendly" is quite the audacity.

Good luck. To move a Demilich, you've got Teleport (not Cloud Trap, anyone who says Cloud Trap has literally never used a demilich or they'd know its too immobile) or Stygian (which is actually a little risky for a Demilich in terms of the secondary 1AN damage if they're not in friendly dom/being beefed up somehow). Can't Transformation/SILT it (you're Undead). In terms of Seeking Arrow on your lonesome, you've got either an air shield or stealth artifact. I actually ended up copper arm and coral blading + crown of titaning a demilich for health when I definitely needed it to teleport onto a stack and not die immediately, but that was Late.

Nice, always enjoyed the flavor of Fomoria, will enjoy seeing how you approach them.

Looks like a fun build (though yes, not optimal). Don't overlook the usage of Fomorian Kings as cloid trapezing SCs though - especially the W-randoms cam get very tough and very killy with Liquid Body, Quickness and Soul Vortex. And the bless should fit perfectly into that! Having even one cloud trapezing SC is a powerful attack vector opponents have to consider.

Wasn’t Fomoria in dom4 your first MP win? Hoping for a repeat! Can’t wait for the Formoria dom6 series :)

I did have to take a moment to take in that bless lmao. You might get a weird bit of synergy because the reanimated bits and bobs are making people target them instead of your sacreds which lets them regen a bit more. Now, I don't know if that's worth the opportunity cost, but I'm excited to see it happen. You'd better not get yourself killed before it goes active lol. I do like the concept of an imprisoned incarnate bless Fomoria, however. Like you said, I think you as a nation are strong enough to not need a bless early, so an Awake bless isn't really worth it, imo. If that's the case, you might as well have something silly to pop up in the midgame at some point. And if you don't REALLY need it for a first war, you might as well have it for a later war.

Don't think so... It's too much of an integral mechanic of the game.

People use a few air points on the demilich as a wind of death drop, it lets it travel and intercept armies. I think you can get around seeking arrows with luck items. As a pretender it has cheaper access to new paths compared to other immobile pretenders and it used to be much cheaper than a Titan. Though with this balance mod I am not sure if it's as good as a pick anymore.

Demilich cant cloud trapeze. Needs teleport if you want to move it.

I would have done death and stral for my pretender if i wanted to do a reanimator build and taking penetration for the bless. Would make your wind of death plays a lot better and the demilich could then teleport and do the battlefield wide soul drain spell.

Mu makes worst bless ever, asked to cast Fate of Oedipus on himself.

The reason reanimators is "bad" is because chaff units need buffs to do their job. In the lategame slap fight, when buffed units need a crap ton of attacks from units to die, the additional attacks to die from reanimator just don't matter. The trick to get reanimator to work is to have delayed or a second set of army wide buffs go of after your evocations blew up the enemies. Happy meming!

I did an awake n7 Regen dragon in WestAsia and ended up with 30 provinces in y0. But that was extremely lucky because other players were too crowded

I tried this myself cause it's such a good fit thematically but my vast armies of 0 protection hellspawn just evaporated against projectiles

Given that all your units are cursed, recuperation would probably have been smarter than regen. Regen will still help with afflictions, but one-eyed giants are at risk of taking an arrow to their (unarmored) head. Normally on a demilich you take astral or air so you can teleport or air trapeze. Air being better if you want to Wailing Winds, but you have plenty of other mages as Formoria that can do that.

The sacred units aren't cursed, only the rank-and-file giants, which aren't affected by the bless. Which sadly makes them borderline unusable before Gift of Health, and Enchantment research isn't a super high priority for Fomoria (you want Conjuration ASAP for Morrigans because you can only recruit them one at a time so earlier is better, evocation to drop the thunder and construction to gear your kings (also to make boots of flights so your Nemedian commanders can lead the morrigans on mega-dick elf raids), Yes, skellingtons, I know - but given that your cool D mages are all cap only that's low on the totem pole IMO. All the more so in games where Dance of the Morrigans isn't nerfed out of existence because that spell is INSANE.

I tried to close the video but I was blinded by your awful decisions for your pretender (yes I learned braille just to comment this), you needed to take reanimators twice on a death16 Raven of the Underworld for the 100% reanimation chance!

Wtf?!?! They nerfed fomoria?!?! This is rediculous. No dance of the morrigans? Everything is cursed. Who knows what else. And your not given any price breaks or any spells or anything to compensate just feels bad man. I love fomoria and I hate to see them get the nerf before the game even starts like have they been running away with the game and winning everything? Fing rediculous. Course I’m a Fomoria main so I could just be biased :)
