DOMINATING $50NL ZOOM with HIGH LEVEL EXPLOITS (2 hour+ of liveplay with my students).
Ойындар
Over the last fews years, much of my youtube material has revolved around the study of poker through a GTO lens and develop outstanding heuristics and fundamentals. As the meta-game shifts, I want to begin to focus on the high-level exploits I use against weaker players, including timing tells, sizing tells, and creating a mental snapshot of how my opponents slot their value and bluffs into various lines.
Here's an example of a session where I play a style with no gatekeeping, few simplifications, and a lot of mixed sizings from 10% to 300% and absolutely dominate players, making nearly 500bbs in 1k hands with a soaring red line. This is what your end style should resemble. Enjoy.

Alvin thank you for your great video! I get great pleasure from your content both from the point of view of theory and practical application. I've learned a lot from you. Don't you use a randomizer during the game?
@AlvinTeachesPoker

I do use a randomizer when I'm playing stronger opponents, but against weaker players I play more pure strategies because it's rare you're truly indifferent against opponents who you have population reads or individual reads against. Often watching others play I think it is a crutch to absolve yourself of responsibility.

So how are you approaching facing 3bb opens at this stake? Iv seen a few things that i think run counter, although i may be missing something. In an earlier vid you discuss the preflop adjustment of folding a lot vs 3x but especially 3.5x + opens because they skew so strong based on your database analysis from low stakes. However, early on in this live play you mention attacking 3x opens because it indicates that the villain is more likely recreational. Then at 18:20 you turn down a button 3bet with A6s facing a HJ 3x based purely on the bad blocker properties of having a 6. As far as i know A6s is a low mixed 3bet BTN vs HJ, or if not it has to be super close. So i would assume the blocker properties would be easily overwhelmed by population tendencies at 50NL even vs regs. (Not enough 4 bets, letting you over realize on flops and turns, etc) Just trying to make sense of what seemed to me like three different thought processes that all sound reasonable in the moment. Thanks for putting this out there! I love your content and the way you discuss the game! Don't mean to come off as super nit picky.

Eeeh I myself wonder what is the exact threshold for 3betting these guys because they are indeed tighter than usual and worse than usual. Really it depends on your postflop control: if you're really running a field over then you can play slightly looser, but the average player is definitely losing 3betting low suited connectors.
Thanks for the stream 👌

I think this video is great and I enjoy your content, but I'm curious as to what adjustments you'd make in a non-anonymous pool, especially on regular tables. I'd really like to see one of those videos.

Trust Alvin to have straws in his house.
Timing tells A6cc 13:00 : never straight never flush as all combos would consider either cbetting, raising turn + straights considering sizing on flush completing river taking few more seconds. + the X flop, b33%, X river perceived weak by fish + range going to be prolly at least 2x weaker than in theory, by the river.

@@AlvinTeachesPoker You timed out also, not to be results oriented yeah but pretty rare flush there i think
For the last hand (37ss), you said since your opponent went polar on flop, if he bet turn you'd raise? Why? You don't want to him to come over the top on your turn raise and be forced to fold a hand with insane equity if you aren't already ahead? Shouldn't it be purely call on turn to a bet?
@AlvinTeachesPoker

Ah I had to look up the hand. No I don't think after villain bets large of that flop there's almost any chance he's going to come over the top on the turn. Calling turn is certainly good, but I wanted to raise turn and jam river to run him off kk.
Why didn't you look up what he had in the AQ hand (Q8Q flop) at 26:38 ?

Learning good poker and how mechanics interact applies to every stakes and makes sure that when you move up your game is future proofed against all styles and opponents. I play in some midstakes games that play like .05c games, it's not about a style to beat a stake, it's about crushing the fool directly across the table.
My strategy against you would be to time out every hand till your neck died
I think you mean 3bet jam not open jam
wtf is folding 66 in the BB getting 30-1 implied odds? Did you misread the hand? @44:27
