Is it true that deposit insurance (a la Diamond and Dybig) is a free lunch (12:10)? Doesn't it incentivize banks to be less careful?

Then, they entertain James Tour who's doing nanotechnology to marry you to his religion. This is what religions do; they get you married through "love." Religious love is communist love. And these stupid people, Bill Joy/Eric Drexler, Christine Peterson, Chris Phoenix, Ray Kurzweil, Allison Duetmann, the whole lot of them. Where were these people when Mike Treder run up to Cananda? No-where - silence. These people wouldn't be caught dead in at a Skepticon; if you mention it to them; they'd wonder what that is!
