Dolphin Sigma Review

This is my review on the Dolphin Sigma pool cleaner robot. This is one of the top-of-the-line cleaners on the market today, and for good reason. You will be paying a premium price for this robot but in exchange you will be getting a ton of premium features with it!
It cleans every surface of your pool well and is compatible with wifi and an online app so you can control this robot from anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection! Not to mention it's the only cleaner on the market with Gyroscope technology, the same tech used in airplanes to guide it! Totally cool robot!

My Dolphin M600 is great when it works. The problem is that I only get about 8~10 uses and its stops working again, always an issue with communication between the controller and the robot. If there was a lemon law for pool robots mine would certainly qualify. Buyer beware!!!

You can tell when someone is doing a genuine review and when someone got a "free" device in exchange for uploading a biased advertisement.

just got mine today…what’s the deal with the handle numbers?? do you set them same on both sides and how often do you change? Thanks!

The Sigma has those handle settings to adjust how long it scrubs the waterline and also how quickly it moves along the waterline. Meaning you can increase or decrease the speed of waterline scrubbing in one spot once it climbs. If you lower the handle setting for example, it'll spend more time scrubbing the same area of the waterline and move less along the waterline. Increasing the handle setting on the other hand makes it move along the waterline more and it spends less time scrubbing the same area. I usually keep both sides the same settingon normal, but I think that if you adjust one side setting further back than the other it'll also make the cleaner move towards that direction. I pretty much leave mine the same each time and never adjust it

Which do you like better, the sigma or the premier?

I prefer the Premier over the Sigma. The Sigma wins in the wifi/app category but the Premier for me, wins with debris options. I get a ton of leaf debris during the fall and the Premier is still the only cleaner in over 5 years that is able to keep up with it with the oversized leaf bag.

@@imdefinitelydavid Thank you for your replies and reviews. Is it harmful to leave the cleaners in a salt water pool. I am away for extended periods of time (one week) and was wondering if I set a weekly timer if there is damage to leaving the cleaner in the pool for that time period. Thanks again for your help.

I've heard mixed reviews on leaving cleaners in the pool. Manufacturers always say to take them out when not in use but that defeats the whole purpose of a weekly timer... convenience. Honestly, saltwater or chlorine, everything is corrosive yes, but I've left some cleaners in the pool for weeks at a time and they're still doing just fine. Especially the newer cleaners, I want to say they're more durable.

These products are a disappointment. Our sigma only lasted for one use and then stopped working before it could finish cleaning a pool that wasn’t even that dirty. Clean your pool yourselves or hire a pool technician, people. Why risk getting a bad lemon that was most likely put together on a Chinese assembly line.

Even big name brands get the occasional bad lemon. Sorry to hear about your experience! Maytronics actually manufactures their cleaners in Israel believe it or not, and generally they are very reliable. Sounds like you unfortunately got a dud, sorry. I've also had the occasional bad Dolphin cleaner out of the box so I get it. These cleaners are great for DIY pool cleaning and maintenance. You save much more money in the long-term as opposed to getting a pool service.
