    @@freddyjawgler2443 yeah I think the tightening spray works real good it doesn’t dry out your hair. I use the refreshening spray also. The spray products IMO is worth it. The locking gel doesn’t quite work for me, the oil is great for your scalp, i use it on the second day after wash really maintain dandruff and is a relief on your scalp.

    I just started my dread journey. I'm partially starting. I have 4. Which sounds like it's not a lot BUT I have a complete undercut. And I want to see how my hair works with dreading. And I ordered the 12oz tee tree and mint shampoo. So I'm super excited!! I think I want to get the nag champa next because that is my fav scent!!

    Hey Willow! Congrats on starting your journey! We generally recommend the Shampoo Bar for new babies, as the sea salt will help encourage tightening. Please feel free to email us at sales@dollylocks.com if you have any questions about our products :)

    I am an African American female with sisterlocks. My locks were starting to come undone due to my soft curly texture. I research your products and purchased your coconut tightening spray. Your product has been a life saver. It caused my locks to tighten up and the smell is amazing. This product isn't just for Caucasians with dreadlocks. Thank you for this product!

    Thank you for replying. I'm also African American with sisterlocks and soft curly hair. Testimonials from us are very few. I just got mine in the fresh scent in the mail over the weekend, washed my hair and applied. I really believe this product is going to make a major difference for me as well. The only problem (which is my fault) is that I tend to be heavy handed and applied a bit too much but regardless I can tell it is quality and just what I need.

    You ladies have some of the best product for dreadlocks and in my personal opinion there isn’t a better method for new growth out there other than this twist and tightening spray! I won’t buy any other dreadlock products because yours are just that good!

    I'm gonna have to check this tightening spray out! I've had maintenance done once with a crochet hook but I'd like to avoid doing that in the future. My hair is fine (seems to be the same hair type as yours) and breakage is definitely a concern. What exactly is in the spray that binds the hair together?

    Can you use all that product with darker hair? I have your tightening spray and idk if im using too much but i think i might have sort of a light salty residue. I dont think other ppl notice it but i do and was just wondering if maybe i was doing it wrong. Thanks.

    Hi Indica! We have a lot of customers and clients with dark hair. It sounds like you might be using a little more product than needed. Apply it from about arm's length, just a few mists over the hair. You can smooth your hands over your hair after applying to ensure that any larger droplets are getting dispersed. Hope that helps!

    my hair is locked from root to tip , I have never used any kid of "product" i have just left it to be , i have loose hair occasionally but it finds a lock to be sucked into , i have only ever used fairy liquid to wash my hair which is a dish soap , it seems to me that all these products are not helping the locking process at all , to lock your hair in to ropes it needs to be free of as much stuff as possible , it needs to be very clean , and dish soap does that just fine and it leaves no residue in your hair , and yes I have straight blonde hair normally but my hair has been locked tight for nearly four years now , i dont have any paintbrush ends or loads of loose hair at the roots , so it seems to me that these products dont do anything at all , why on earth would you gel your locks , if they are loose its because they are young and have not tightened up yet , dont try and speed it up its not going to help you , when i had my first set of locks back in the 90s i used every product i could get my hands on that was supposed to help my hair to lock up, Knotty boy stuff that kind of useless crap , none of it helps , clean your hair and let it do its thing , all hair forms ropes , its a natural thing dont try and help it along you are just slowing the whole process down , anyhoo , not knocking your products , just feel that people are being misinformed as to what they need to have healthy rope hair , or "dreadlocks" as people like to call them now because of the whole rastarari movement

    Hello! You are absolutely correct! Not everyone needs, wants or uses products in their dreadlocks and this is perfectly fine! We did however create our Organic Dreadlock Product Line to help and assist those that in fact do need some type of assistance OR choose to use products that should never be used in hair that is not brush-able. All of our products are of the highest quality, are as organic as feasibly possible, are residue free and water soluble. So, if you do choose to, or need assistance, that is why we are here. Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate your honesty and will do our best to explain any concerns or question you may have :)

    Hi, I have afro hair and used to do interlocking for 2.5 years and i changed to crochet method recently and combine them to downsize the # to 130 locks(used to have 225). Even if i've had my locks for 3 years now, I feel like the roots are like baby locks. Do you think this maintenance method is for me? Any advise, tips? Should I use the bar or the liquid shampoo? thanks for ur advise...

  • @Dollylocks

    @Dollylocks

    Hey Francoise, these maintenance methods are going to be effective for all hair types and textures. They are intended to keep things looking tidy between professional maintenance using the crochet hook. When you squeeze the ends of your dreadlocks, do they feel firm and compressed? If so, go with the Liquid Shampoo. If not, the Shampoo Bar is going to help encourage tightening. Hope this helps!

    gmariedorsey....Dollylocks products work on everyone's hair. I do locs and always use their products on mine as well as people who come to me for help with theirs, and I have a huge diversity of people I help out. Locs are a natural occuring blessing we all can enjoy, my heritage called me to start my journey and it has truly been an incredible one. In homage to my ancestors and our traditions, I wear them with pride and strength. I love that Dollylocks gear their products to work for all. Best wishes to you and just a little pointed blessing...may your mind and heart release past ghost and shine with the beauty and strength you are. Love given.
