Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me
To another world
And we rely on each other, huhn hah
From one lover to another, huhn hah

If you're reading this, please pray for my friend Annie. She is a homeless, recovering addict. She has been through every type of pain you could imagine a person could go through. She has experienced loss, abuse, suicide attempts... And yet with Jesus, she has such a loving, strong heart. I have never met a woman like her. Please pray God will bring miracles into her life, and turn her situation around. I ask in Jesus name, Amen. 🙏🙏🙏

I must admit I much prefer the reggae version by Delroy Wilson and Jennifer Lara. It's slower paced, and the arrangement is lovely. Much nicer for a slow dance with the one you love!
Dolly doesn't get enough credit for her melodic voice .❤
My Dad said he went to see Dolly in concert with a friend once ( great front row seating) and he proudly told me that Dolly blew him a kiss! So every time I hear this song, it reminds me of him. He has since passed. So, I say this song’s for you Dad and I smile 😊

It's unfortunate that Bee Gees were pigeonholed as a disco group because of their massive success -- their disco music was only a very small part of a 40+ year career! Hello
Baby, when I met you There was peace unknown I set out to get you With a fine tooth comb I was soft inside There was something going on You do something to me That I can't explain Hold me closer and I feel no pain Every beat of my heart We got something going on Tender love is blind It requires a dedication All this love we feel Needs no conversation We ride it together, ah-ha Making love with each other, ah-ha Islands in the stream That is what we are No one in between How can we be wrong Sail away with me To another world And we rely on each other, ah-ha From one lover to another, ah-ha I can't live without you If the love was gone Everything is nothing If you got no one And you just walk in the night Slowly losing sight of the real thing But that won't happen to us And we got no doubt Too deep in love and we got no way out And the message is clear This could be the year for the real thing No more will you cry Baby, I will hurt you never We start and end as one In love forever We can ride it together, ah-ha Making love with each other, ah-ha Islands in the stream That is what we are No one in between How can we be wrong Sail away with me To another world And we rely on each other, ah-ha From one lover to another, ah-ha

Kenny Rogers remains an icon and an emblematic figure. Rest in the bosom of the Lord.
I think I am an old soul because ever since I heard the songs of this successful Mrs. Dolly I loved them and every time I listen to them it is as if they take me back to some time in my memories. I am 38 years old and I knew her through interviews and videos and songs since I was 15 years old. I love going to DollyWood park. I would like to meet her in person❤🎉
Dolly won the 2001 GRAMMY Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for her cover of the Collective Soul song "Shine" from her album "Little Sparrow," marking her third win in that category and seventh overall. Collective Soul lead singer Ed Roland was blown away when he found out Dolly covered the group’s song, "In all honesty, the first CD, which has 'Shine' on it, basically was a songwriter's demo, trying to get a publishing deal and try to showcase songs. It's the first time ever we've had one of those songs covered, and it's an honor, and really cool... especially coming from someone who's a great songwriter. It's not necessary for her to use anyone's songs except her own."

The best duet ever ?😍😍😍
Dolly Parton had the best voice of all of the female country stars, you can really feel the pain and emotion in her songs!!

*I have great memories while in Oklahoma and Texas and other places listening to these lovely music in 70s and 80s. Especially my first CD I bought was a collection of of Kenny Rogers. Thank you KZread for such collections💖👍*
Boy there's somethin special about that feeling you get when listening to some old school country music. It'll make a bad day good everytime.
I was never a big fan of either Parton or Rogers - just not my style - but the more I listen to this song, the more it grows on me. I especially like that for the first third of the song, Rogers sings melody and Parton does harmony, and then they seamlessly switch. That's awesome!

@@cupknee In fact, the entire _Eyes That See in the Dark_ album was written by the Bee Gees. Except for a few that were written by Barry Gibb and another songwriter. They also play various instruments on the album, and you can obviously recognise their background vocals in various songs. Like for example _Islands In the Stream_ 😄

"Islands In The Stream" (feat. Dolly Parton) Baby, when I met you There was peace unknown I set out to get you With a fine tooth comb I was soft inside There was something going on You do something to me That I can't explain Hold me closer and I feel no pain Every beat of my heart We got something going on Tender love is blind It requires a dedication All this love we feel Needs no conversation We ride it together, ah-ha Making love with each other, ah-ha Islands in the stream That is what we are No one in between How can we be wrong Sail away with me To another world And we rely on each other, ah-ha From one lover to another, ah-ha I can't live without you If the love was gone Everything is nothing If you got no one And you just walk in the night Slowly losing sight of the real thing But that won't happen to us And we got no doubt Too deep in love and we got no way out And the message is clear This could be the year for the real thing No more will you cry Baby, I will hurt you never We start and end as one In love forever We can ride it together, ah-ha Making love with each other, ah-ha Islands in the stream That is what we are No one in between How can we be wrong Sail away with me To another world And we rely on each other, ah-ha From one lover to another, ah-ha Sail away [Instrumental Interlude] Ooooh, come sail away with me Islands in the stream That is what we are No one in between How can we be wrong Sail away with me To another world And we rely on each other, ah-ha From one lover to another, ah-ha Islands in the stream That is what we are No one in between How can we be wrong Sail away with me To another world And we rely on each other, ah-ha From one lover to another, ah-ha Islands in the stream That is what we are No one in between
