Em Rich lmao what?! there’s nothing wrong with it being lip sync but this sounds like the exact copy of studio version. And considering the time period it was incredibly common for singers to lip sync in situations like this. You can understand your voice all you want but no one sounds like the studio version exactly when singing their song live. At least not perfectly.

Just to clear up a few things. Singers and stage performers like Dolly wear wigs because they don't want to ruin and damage their own hair with sprays, chemicals, perms and dyes. Wearing different wigs, you can have many different hair styles.

Kitty Grimm Idk if you care but it’s fun to know that the ‘real’ Jolene was an bank teller who was particularly close to Dolly’s husband! And if said husband was out late, the couple would joke that he was with her. The name Jolene came from a little girl Dolly met who she thought was the most precious little thing. There’s no ‘real’ Jolene, and Dolly and her husband joked about the song after it was written :)!

Dolly is the master and Queen of Country. Not only rich but so talented. Saw her live in LA in the late eighties. She came out in a wild dress and very Sexy. She sang a few songs then greeted the audience with a Big "Howdy" in her Tennessean accent. The crowd went wild. She is some kind of Woman. And so talented also, coming from poverty and one of 12 children and now loved by all, and being so rich at over 600 million. Sing on Dolly. We all do not get tired one minute of hearing your songs and seeing you heart with the help you have provided so many everywhere in the world.

For the people who seem to misunderstand, or just don’t know. This song was based off of a woman at the bank who constantly flirted with Dolly’s husband. It was a joke between Dolly and her husband that he would go to the bank just to see her. Dolly also met a beautiful little girl by the name of jolene, that part of the song was written for the little girl. (You can look up interviews)

Nunnles You are a complete idiot. Watch the interviews you dunce. The song was written about the bank teller. The name Jolene came from a little girl who wanted Dolly to sign her autograph, and she signed it to “Jolene”, the little girl had a very unique name and Dolly told her that. The little girl also has beautiful red hair and green eyes. The cheating is about the bank teller, but the beauty she had came from that little girl Dolly remembered. Nobody was singing about a “little girl fucking their husband” you freak.

Steve Wildes You should meet her. She took my third grade class to her park, got them all winter coats, and held most of them in her lap. She's a wonderful person, and a talented musician.

Steve Wildes This is true. She would love to meet you as well. Some people are talented, some are genuine, and some have something relevant to say. I believe she has it all. Top it off with experience and an ability to write songs, well, maybe--just maybe--you would get someone as wonderful as Dolly. Maybe.

Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene I'm begging of you please don't take my man Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene Please don't take him just because you can Your beauty is beyond compare With flaming locks of auburn hair With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green Your smile is like a breath of spring Your voice is soft like summer rain And I cannot compete with you, Jolene He talks about you in his sleep There's nothing I can do to keep From crying when he calls your name, Jolene And I can easily understand How you could easily take my man But you don't know what he means to me, Jolene Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene I'm begging of you please don't take my man Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene Please don't take him just because you can You could have your choice of men But I could never love again He's the only one for me, Jolene I had to have this talk with you My happiness depends on you And whatever you decide to do, Jolene Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene I'm begging of you please don't take my man Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene Please don't take him even though you can Jolene, Jolene
