Her remembering everyone that helped her is such a small town thing, and I mean that in the best way possible. Growing up in a small town means you learn everybody’s name, you learn what they do and you get to know them. The fact that she never let go of her roots, learns names and remembers them says so much about her good heart.

I think is more of a trait humble and grateful people have. Is more often in small towns, but in the cities we've forgotten about gratefulness just because... She's a example of how money can't change your kind heart.

I love that there's no deep reasoning behind her looks. A lot of the people on this series talk about how this dress symbolized that and this dress had a deep, significant reason to be, and here's Dolly saying "I loved this dress, I felt pretty in it". I'd check that out if you haven't seen that yet - it's amazing.

I was in a stage production of Steel Magnolias that I still cherish, and I read up on the play and movie a lot during that time. Apparently during filming, it was stifling hot and all of the actors were struggling except Dolly, who remained quiet. When asked how she was holding it together, she said something to the effect of "When I was growing up poor and had nothing, I used to wish I could be a star. Now I am, so I'm not going to complain about anything." What a legend.

I grew up listening to wonderful Dolly! I'm so happy the rest of the world is embracing her now too. I was 15 when her variety show was on and the way she made Tom Selleck blush is still one of my very favourite TV memories of all time! Two such lovely souls.

Not only do I love how humble and sweet Dolly is; I also love how positive her fanbase is. I haven't read a single negative comment in this thread on this video and I love that. How can you not love Dolly Parton? It's impossible.

I love you, Dolly Parton. You have been such a part of my childhood. It’s so beautiful the joy you bring with your smile & your music; which is to say - You bring joy wherever you go.
