The snowflake is gorgeous. I love the way that the mushroom looks with the pinecone pieces covering the cap. What fun!

So cute! I like them all, but I like the sweet simplicity of the pine cone tree best. You are correct, the pieces are called scales. The pokey part on the end of each scale is called a prickle, aptly named, IMO. Wishing you a very blessed Christmas season.

The 3d snowflake is really cool. May need to make a couple to go with some other clothespin snowflakes I made last year. I have them hanging at the office.
