Very impressive! But nothing beats the very first DOLBY TRAIN logo. It was the first time (for me) to hear the sound that's unheard of. Never forget the awe at that moment!

These videos are a great way to test a sound system with original Dolby Pro Logic decoding.

That's because... These optical tracks shown in this video were made with theaters that use similar tech. The actual Dolby Digital track isn't shown due to Recordcouncil not having the right decoding and capturing hardware, though.

Good illustration of a full size scan from this Dolby trailer, it shows the stereo analog track in separation ready for the Dolby Pro Logic Matrix.

My dream come true...! Watching those little frames containing the coded data for Dolby Digital, as they pass through the gate, and see how those little dots behave..!

About the only version of this that I'm familiar with is the digital version, where the end mentions Dolby Digital instead of just 'Dolby' (and doesn't have that couple of seconds of jitter when the logo appears). Nice to see this version surface in better quality. (the only other copy I was able to find of the theatrical version was bundled with a bunch of other sound format snipes and was a 240p camrip)

This version clearly is in Dolby Digital (you can see the digital track between the perfs to the left of the normal analogue track) but does not mention it.

That's fine, just be aware that the actual content is still owned by Dolby.

I liked them well enough when I saw them in 2005. I think it's something that doesn't translate well from live to recorded media.
