Does your Dolby double D logo on your receiver light up? It will light up only when getting a digital signal.

This is 5.1 PCM only. If your Dolby symbol is showing it’s because you’re using your receiver’s built in Dolby decoder to play the audio. It’s definitely PCM but it’s still good audio. Should be because the original soundtracks were recorded in Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus.

KZread officially supports 5.1 surround sound, but only for users with a compatible setup and content that supports 5.1 audio. For the majority of users, KZread delivers 2.0 stereo audio.

Incredible sound. True 5.1 on youtube. Using a 4k max Firestick with my HDR projector and a good audio extractor feeding my amp via coaxial connection.

It works with my 10 ten years old surround system (5.1 setup Yamaha RX-A1010 with Yamaha speakers). Nice!

this video rocks on my 3/2.1 front,center, high front, rear and sub setup.... i had to tweek some output levels and now every source i play is awesome

Works so good with real 5.1 audio. Tested with an LG Smart TV (KZread App) and a 5.1 Sound System connected via Toslink cable from TV. (Optical)

No idea, youtube started supporting surround sound. Thanks a ton for the info. Worked with my home theatre setup.

It sounds beautiful. I don't use a true Dolby Atmos EQ. But on my phone I use Dolby Atmos set to voice, Dolby Atmos for Gaming, Adapt Sound, a pre eq (set in the s shape setting containing some bass while having it concentrated on tenor and mid range), a post eq (set to the happy face setting concentrated on bass, barritone and tenor), I have amplified post gains and slightly decrease pre gains, 3d effect set to 100%, and the ingain decreased to -5 with the out gain increased to +10. And I also use gaming headphones. So what I'm hearing from your video is pure theater sound on a smart phone.

I used these options on my Tv, 5.1 surround sound settings available on KZread videos. Truly, great feature 👍

This is just a video of all the Dolby videos over the years and that too not in full HD. Awesome

KZread is going places and this is the way forward, it's shocking to see Dolby Digital on KZread, especially looks at my receiver, I think content creators need to take advantage of this, especially for people who are watching this on TV or their phone with stereo speakers and/or headphones

Yep, finally, KZread has more channels. But there are limits to getting experience 7.1 or atmos, so we can’t get the experience for atmos or 7.1.

Don’t be fooled by the splash screen. This audio is 5.1 PCM. It is not Dolby. But your receivers may decode it as DD depending which decoder you’ve selected. KZread does not at this time stream Dolby Atmos despite all the fancy logos through the video. For your receiver to decode Atmos it would require the stream to be DD+ as a minimum, and that is not available on YT. Nonetheless, it’s pretty decent 5.1 because the source videos were designed to give lots of channel separation. So enjoy but don’t be fooled.

PCM is digital and in this case mulichannel, it decodes to DD, just because it doesn't detect as DD doesn't mean it isn't, this decode as DD

Dolby can be 5.1. Title says Dolby AUDIO 5.1 and this is encoded in Dolby Digital 5.1. Nothing more, nothing less.

False. It's the AC-3 codec which IS Dolby 5.1 my friend.

It’s indicating 5.1 sound on my AV receiver and I can hear the sound whirling round the room.

I still cant believe it, but it actually works with the built in YT App on my LG Oled TV... Still no luck on the PC with firefox though.

Is there something special you need to do when uploading 5.1 sound video to youtube? I tried doing it but could not get 5.1 to work when i uploaded a 5.1 audio file. Im wondering what format or kind of file it has to be.

KZread is only displaying at 1080? The sound is great though. I have both Dolby Vison and Dolby Atmos. Viewing on my OLED GL C2

For some reason the sound coming from the front can also be heard from the back speakers. Haven't noticed anything like this with Netflix or any other streaming platforms. Is anyone having this issue with KZread?

I experience very good with Dolby atmos soud on my bluetooth headphones Zebronics.

I have the Q600 with the SWA9000S kit, and a TV Box KP1 - which has Atmos. I noticed the same thing as you at the beginning without configuring the TV Box, after I turned off Dolby RF and managed to leave it without any decoding (passthrough), the audio was great. See if your decoder also allows it (I had to activate developer mode to have access).

I'm using mi box 2022 version 9...I'm not able to find 5.1 channel in the settings

so according to this video I don't have an "Optimized for Dolby certified system" because it only comes in 2.0 stereo. A pity... Luckily I can listen to this trailers ("Countdown", "Unfold", "Leaf", "Amaze" etc) with the original soundtrack in native 5.1 or 7.1 Dolby True HD / Atmos on this non-certified system. Sounds a lot better than on youtube too.

I have this whole original video in proper dolby Atmos & this version on you tube is literally a pcm version. The sound difference from the 50gb version I have of this is night & day. You tube does not support Dolby atmos.

Only certain versions of the KZread app for now. It's not available in the browser versions.

I have a capable 7.1 soundbar but when i switch on 5.1 button on KZread, the volume drastically lowers down compared to what i get after unchecking the 5.1 button. Has anybody else observed this?

Ensure that the audio output format of your device is compatible with Dolby content. Dolby formats often require bitstream passthrough or specific audio output settings to ensure proper playback. If the audio output format is not set correctly, it can lead to reduced volume.

@@xJI00 ​ Maybe or not. You may do Atmos Binaural stereo. Still, it is terrible that the decoder can't decode the atmos metadata and bed channel 7.1. If you upload, that would compress to 5.1 and only play on supported devices.

Capped at 256k sadly. "Though the highest audio bitrate that KZread streams is 256kbps, there are still many deceitful services that claim to support 320Kbps KZread audio and even lossless quality"

Certain versions of the KZread app added Dolby Digital 5.1 surround support, in the latter half of 2022. e.g. Google TV, Android TV and Roku devices. Still no support for the browser version yet.

If anyone could explain how 5.1 channels are extracted from 2.0, this would be appear to be an honest title.

It doesn't work on a PC. I checked the optics, coaxial, HDMI and even RCA channel-by-channel - DOES NOT WORK, Receiver 7.1

it only works if you connect your receiver at your tv and use youtube on that tv. There isn't sorround audio support on pc yet unfortunately!

I had to turn the volume to 20 to hear anything at all. Dolby for deaf people?

It does nothing on my PC rear sound system.

i have a raw copy of all of these in my hard drive in 5.1 and 7.1 for KODI cinematic experience. The bat sound at 2:54 must start at the left rear surround speaker circles all the way to the front L,R and center. but in this video it only loops From Left to Right. its goes to show that youtube is not currently supported multichannel track yet. no channel separation whatsoever. dont be fooled.

This is 100% accurate. They are just sending the same signal to the front and rear channels its not true 5.1 surround sound.

Does not work. No Dolby Digital surround sound with KZread, using (the YT Android app in combination with )a streaming stick like Google TV or Fire TV 4k directly on a AV receiver.

Might be a connection limitation/configuration. I'm running the YT app on a Roku TV, optical out set to DD, (not. DD+) directly to my AVR and it's being identified as DD 5.1 with full channel separation. I've never come across this on YT until today.

PCM, Dolby, DTS, atmos, DTSX, really it’s all the same. I’ve heard them all. They can call surround whatever they want. It’s been the same thing the last 30 years, they just added more speakers.

no this is not working lol :D I have downloaded this demos and they are working, this is just stereo as youtube don't support any dolby sound at the moment :D
