Doja Cat: 'Scarlet', Fans, Fame & New Music | Apple Music

Музыка

Doja Cat opens up to Ebro in a vulnerable interview about her experience becoming one of the world’s most famous artists, building a fanbase, and navigating it all while continuing to create new music, visuals, and live performances.
On her latest album, ’Scarlet’, Doja Cat solidifies herself as not just a pop star but also a talented rapper-something fans of her early work were already aware of. Doja Cat also shares with Ebro details about her life growing up, what inspires her creativity, and even how hypnotherapy helped her overcome nicotine addiction.

It's so rare to see an artist call out social media fans like this. So many artists let these fanatics disrespect and attack others and never try to reign them in because they feel they will lose support. Doja does not cater to fanatics. She is secure and knows real fans will respect her and not treat other women this way. This girl is a REAL Person.

The fact that this interview REALLY shows Doja Cat as a MUSICAL ARTIST like, she is an artist. She is really her for the music specifically. Like, whatever to social media -- she really cares about the music, sound, art, visual, and all that. This is SPECIALIZED

Last night was my first time ever seeing Doja live.. I left speechless. I saw Britney Spears live at her peak. I’ve seen Beyoncé multiple times- (never thought anyone would outperform her). I’ve seen Billie Eilish multiple times. I’ve seen Rihanna. I can name so many artists I’ve seen in concert throughout my life and I never left the building like I did last night. She was just magical to watch- her voice, her dancing skills, the visuals… just incredible! Doja absolutely put on the best show I’ve seen since Ye at Yeezus tour in the same building- the United Center.

It also reminds me of what Zendaya said in an interview one time "I stepped away from music and focused more on acting because fans latch onto a character, whereas if you make music it's all you all the time, and people expect and dissect so much more of your personal life through every lyric" She doesn't owe anyone any explanation!! she couldve set that boundary without blocking her predatory boyfriends victims or promoting a ne0 n4zi by wearing his merch on her instagram with well over 20 million followers. this woman is stuck in a victim mentality and gaslights people by pushing this whole parasocial narrative when in reality, all they want her to do is take accountability. she has a vast reach and her demographic is mostly young people with accordingly malleable brains, so yes, it absolutely does require her to explain herself. instead, she plays dumb and continues to rage bait for attention with no care for the moral implications of her actions. and you all fall for it - every single time
