@@JhustineProvido Air Cooling though is a different story. Water Cooling isnt just about noise but also when you do a custom loop you have substantially higher volume to saturate before reaching equilibrium. Generally with air cooling up to a point the faster you can pass air over the heatsink the better, a quieter fan may be pushing less air over the sink which = less cooling.

Simply not the case. I literally toasted my gaming PC at 83-90c gaming for 5 years, and it's still fine. Trust me, the PS5 doesn't even get close to those temps, and generally quieter means not working as hard to keep the system cool. Your real concern shouldn't be with replacing the fan, it should be with keeping dust out of the system. That's the biggest issue when it comes to electronics overheating.

as a professional repair technician thats already fixed several ps5s with various problems i feel this really unessecary, you are showing us how to fix a problem that doesnt exist, the variance in decibels on these blower fans across the 3 oem's is neglible, and the variance in performance as far as wicking off heat is even more so. furthermore of all the playstations i have diagnosed and repaired ive never once seen make even close to as much noise as the one you demonstated to be loud. i dont know if thats due to the microphone being so close, editing gains on your recording, or simply just a defective fan bearing, but that kind of noise is not normal operation at all and would fall within the manufactures warranty, or simply replaced as shown since sony has made this fan servicable without having to break the warranty seal. Edit: Kinda Preachy sorry, but i recently had to repair a fan connector for a customer, becuase he was taking his fan out to clean it on a monthly basis and broke 3 of the 5 pads on the connector. I fixed the connector jumping traces and running some wires, as well as educated the kid on why its a really bad idea to try and fix something that isnt broke. I feel like your video here will just promote undue damage to these still very hard to obtain devices. Good for my business sure.. but sheesh. this is a bad video lol. @Miguel Melo I have had mine since launch day, so over a year now & no issue but as you say when more demanding titles built purely for the current gen, PS5/SERIES, appear, we may well hear the fans being pushed to accomodate the more technically demanding titles, but, it will possibly be another year or two before we see or hear signs of that. It is a quiet machine currently, but the series x has it beat in terms of silent running. I'm glad both machines are close in terms of specs this time around. Not that specs are indicative of success in the games industry.

Since they're all made to a specific manufacturing spec with certain tolerances in mind, none of them will perform much better than the other, and if anything, one may cool the system better by a degree or two. Can't hear the fan in the first place. But that's probably because I don't constantly sit right over it and putting my ear next to the vents. Like a normal person, I sit xx metres away and my sound system is loud enough to cancel out any fan noise. Same with my PC that has 6 120mm fans in them. Anyway, cool video and definitely worth the hassle if your fan is loud and is causing performance issues later on in its life cycle but otherwise I don't see the point. EDIT: I'm guessing I have the delta fan as I can't hear much at all when I'm right next to the console. Great tutorial video, thanks.
