The most amusing customer I ever had, back in my service-writing days, paid her bill, walked out to her car, left, then came back complaining we had installed the hubcaps upside-down on her 80-something Ford Thunderbird. The store manager snagged the keys, while I offered her a cup of fresh coffee. She had just picked up the sugar shaker when he brought her keys to her, telling her she was all set (grinning from ear to ear, of course). It was all I could do to keep a straight face as I watched him pull her car forward a foot & a half or so. She was happy, I laughed til I cried

Wife bought a small RV based on a 2000 Ford E350 Super Duty 6.8 V10 Took it on a long trip, at the end of the first day it had a strange missfire that went away. The next day it started missing going up a hill. Acted to me like a lack of fuel. Replaced the fuel filter in the parts store parking lot.Ran fine most of the next day. Starting missing again under a load.Took it to a Ford dealer. They said it had a miss on one cylinder. They changed one spark plug and one coil. I planned to repace the rest when we got home. Ran good the next day started running rough toward the end of the day. Got it to an independant shop. The replaced the other 9 spark plus and coils. When they were done it still had a miss and they said it needed a catalytic convertor. We got the rig to our destination. I dropped the convertor for a visual inspection. Found nothing wrong with it. On the way home it , was intermittantly running bad. Took it to another ford dealer where they determined it had a bad fuel pump, which turned out to be the problem all along. Now running great. Was an expensive trip.

Yeah , never overlook the lowly spark plug. Happened to me once years ago. Had an intermittent misfire on # 3 cylinder. Would only occur in certain weather conditions. Changed wires. Then changed coil pack. As a last resort changed #3 plug(plugs were changed about 6 months earlier). Turned out to be the plug. Never would have thought that because of the intermittent occurrence.

He changed the brakes on a customers car and three months later her motor blew and she took him to court blaming him. It got threw out because he didn't even touch the engine. Hey Scotty my mom has a 2014 Dodge Durango with 161,000 miles. It has been a very reliable car, we only had to replace a radiator hose last year. Also it has the 3.6 v6 and a CVT. How come you think Chrysler makes poor quality vehicles?

Hello Scotty, I will start college from next semester and I need a reliable car that lasts very long, gives great mileage and with a back camera because I’m not that good at parallel parking. I’m thinking of either Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. can you please help/suggest me what year car should I buy? I am a big fan of yours and always learn something new about car from your videos. Thank you for your time and helping me out!

I'm not Scotty but you should consider avoiding any car with a CVT.

Hey @Scotty Kilmer, where’s your get that data about speeding and deaths you talked about at about 8:05 mark? You said that Fontana, California was 4th in the list. I live in the city right next to Fontana and one of my sisters lives in Fontana!!! 🙀

Mr. Kilmer, I called my local mechanic shop and asked them how much for a fuel filter change in my 07 Camry base model with 79,500 miles for preventative maintenance. They said it would cost you $350.00 for the parts and labor. They were also hesitant and said they wanted to do a diagnostic test first. Thoughts on the price and "diagnostics." Car has no issues other than stupid TPMS light.

Nope do it youself or get another quote from somewhere else...they're taking you to the cleaners. Takes not even 30 minutes to do a fuel filter

The answer is simple: Don't do it at all. Worry about something else. I keep my cars forever and have replaced one fuel filter and that was back in the 60s.

Hey scottyyyyy love watching your videos!!! I have a 1999 tercel that i left parked for around 4 weeks in winter with a disconnected battery. When i got back it didn't start and a mecanic changed the wiring or something and made it start. Now every time its veryy cold here in Québec its doesnt start with no noise when i turn the key. Almost like it the ignition is not responding and sends no power to the starter. When its not too cold starts right up. Starter relay?fuel pump? Moisture in fuel? Thanks in advance hopefully:-)
