Doing my SECOND EVER 2000 piece puzzle!! 2k Subscribers Special

Ойын-сауық

As promised, I am putting together a 2000 piece puzzle, for reaching 2000 subscribers. And yes, I know I'm a bit late with the video, but you cannot blame me, blame the Worlds 😂😜
I have to admit, that it was really intimidating to put together a 2k puzzle, especially for the video, because there is always that extra pressure, to finish it quick enough, for the video to go out on time 😅
Thank you so much, to each and everyone, who has been supporting me on my journey! It wouldn't have been possible, without every single one of you! ❤

I think 9 hrs is great. I don't usually time my puzzles because I just work on them when I feel like and don't always remember to start a timer. I'm working on a 6000 piece one now and it seems like it's taking forever. I just have to remember to just enjoy the challenge and not get frustrated. I love your videos. Just have fun!

Nice job!!!! I've only ever done one 2000 piece puzzle and it took me a month to do!!!! Then again it will take me an entire wknd to finish a 1000 pc puzzle. I'm up and down alot, so that is part of it. I have a 1500pc puzzle that I want to do (actually I have THREE I want to do) but instead I've been working on 300 pc puzzles because life has been busy and 300pcs are easier on the brain.

I love to leave a puzzle out for weeks, and just work on it bits by bits - I think even the more difficult puzzles can be enjoyable this way 🤩 I agree that the smaller puzzles can be very relaxing, and not straining the brain too much, like some of the bigger count puzzles 😁

Puzzles is about fun, creativity and joy. Rules, cheating, expectations... those things work against the joy and fun. I let go of all the rules others put on me when it came to puzzling... therefore... "cheating" doesn't even enter the picture. I understand rules for a competition... but when you get home... be free to let go of the rules. Leave the pieces together. do what you want to do to do the puzzle. Enjoy!!!! Kudos on your second 2000. I like them but they need to be busy images. As for time... it takes me about a week if i am seriously attended to it. I think I did one in 6 days and that was impressive. My first one took about six months. But that was before I was home without a full time job outside of the home. I don't time myself for any puzzles. It's about having fun... I'm not keeping score. As for apologizing for the sun... no need to do that. The sun is too big for you to have any control over. Happy 100 Birthday Disney... Great puzzle to celebrate their centennial.

I agree!! I have never been the one who would call anything puzzle related cheating, but there are a few people who tend to do so unfortunately 😅 Your comment is so nice! I just had to hear that honestly. Sometimes it's hard to just be free, when you know people are watching, and I just automatically put extra pressure on myself. So thank you for that! 🥰 And yes, it's a great puzzle to celebrate 100 years!! 🤩

Congratulations on doing this puzzle! You shouldn't be so hard on yourself. I think you did a fantastic job. It's such a pretty image. It's been many years since I've done a 2000 and 3000 piece puzzle. My eyesight and hand dexterity aren't what they use to be. Back then there wasn't a puzzle community like now and I never kept track how long it took to put them together. I think the image of a puzzle is always going to be a huge factor in how long they will take. Be proud of yourself, great job.

Wow! That is so fast. 2 years ago I finally tackled a 2000 piece Coca-cola puzzle I had been given 20+ years ago. It was soooooo hard. I did it over 5 days and it took me just under 42 hours. Yikes. Now that I type it, it seems crazy I pushed through. There was so much red and the words coke over & over. I swore I would never do a puzzle over 1000 pieces again. But… just yesterday I decided to buy a 1500 piece so hopefully my speed has improved. I was proud that I finished but definitely a marathon. You should be so impressed with yourself for tackling this puzzle . Great job.

Thank you! 😊 I assume the Coca-cola was one of the 'impossible' puzzles - I've never seen their puzzle with an easy design 😅 Sometimes it's a lot easier, when you leave a puzzle out for a long time, as you don't feel the hours that you put in 😉 I'm sure you're gonna love a 1500 puzzle! If you ask me, it's a bigger jump to go from a 500 to a 1000, than it is to go from a 1000 to 1500. So you'll do great! 🤗

Congratulations on finishing your first 2000-piece puzzle, Janette! 🙂And, welcome to the new world of puzzling! Larger puzzles, when finished, do bring a different set of emotions and satisfaction. I'm happy you had that experience and that, I believe, you liked it. I think that you worry far too much, you know... And, yes, you did make this puzzle far too complicated to finish than it actually probably is. I know you love sorting your pieces first, but not always it's the best strategy. I almost never sort the pieces when I have a puzzle with 2k or more pieces. I usually lay and flip over all the pieces on foam boards and or the tops and bottoms of puzzle boxes (I just separate the edges), and then, I simply look at the picture, pick what I want to do first, find those pieces, and start building my puzzle. That's it. I actually don't know how long it takes me to build a 2k-piece puzzle as I've never measured my time. But, up to one week and I puzzle only in the evening, 1-2 hours max a day. With bigger puzzles, well, I'm not sure if it matters... I think, you should simply enjoy to have a work in progress for a longer period of time (and not to worry it takes so long). Not everybody likes it, though. But, there is something magical when you eventually finish and look at the whole puzzle completed, especially if it's a giant puzzle (4k and more). I keep my fingers crossed that you will keep on trying to build bigger puzzles and getting out of your comfort zone. It's worth it 😉 Marta (from @marta.puzzles)

Thank you! 🥰 Yes, it is completely different sense of accomplishment!! 🤩👌🏻 Yes, I think I just struggle when I find something difficult for me, and when I start doubting that I'll be able to finish it. That's why I went to extra lengths to try to make it 'more doable' for me 😅 Ok, that's an interesting strategy, and quite a scary one haha 😂🙈 I totally agree with you! This is how I normally puzzle, but it is a bit different when making a video out of it, because I have limited amount of time to finish the puzzle and edit the video. Oh I loved the feeling of completed puzzle, and cannot wait to tackle my first giant puzzle!! 🤩 I will keep getting out of my comfort zone 😁

Well done for completing that puzzle, not an easy one. 👏 I don't do anything bigger than 1000 so can't comment on times for 2000 and bigger. How long a puzzle takes is image dependant. A busy puzzle would take longer than one with clear areas that can be picked out. I very rarely time myself and when I do I don't try and go at supersonic speed! Snail's pace is more my line. 🐌 Look forward to your next video whenever that is.

Came for the puzzle, stayed for the pyjamas 🤣I think for these, and especially the bigger puzzles, it's normal to take some time to figure out how exactly to tackle the puzzle. As a kid I remember doing a 4000 pc puzzle that had a castle on it but the majority of the picture was grass and trees. That took me daaaaaays! It's probably why now I don't really like those 'regular picture' puzzles. These days I prefer more art style designs from brands like Cloudberries, Eeboo, or Blue Kazoo.

I did this exact puzzle in June this year and loved it. I don’t time myself for a challenge but do time myself just out of curiosity 😊. This one took 17 hours 28 minutes over 7 days in between work and life. I’m currently working on Ravensburger Artistic Mickey 5000 pieces. My set up isn’t great, I’m working on foam boards taped together sitting on a picnic table 😅. I am not timing this one as the size and set up create enough challenges but I am sooooo enjoying it. Giant puzzles can be so addictive, and yes I have also done 3000 piece Castorland that fit on a board for a standard 2000 and loved it. The pieces are smaller but grid cut and various shapes they are not all two in/two out. Congratulations on 2K subscribers and fast approaching 3K 🎉

Can't wait for your 3K sub puzzle :D I haven't done a lot of 2K+ puzzle. Did the Asterix&Oblix 3K, and it took me about a week, with life inbetween. Not a fast puzzler, and I don't really sort. My dinning table is black, so I have thin wooden cardboard sheets with decrative white folie glued on. They comes in euro platte size, and I got it for free. Sturdy when puzzling outside of the table, and still very very light. So I'm ready for the right large puzzle! Really loved the large 18?K Trefle Disney, but out of stock sadly.

Me neither, even though I'm really nervous about it 😅🙈 I think it's only sensible to do the larger puzzles across multiple days. That's a great solution! 🤩 My dining table is light wood, so it's great for puzzling 👌🏻 I love the Disney Trefl one - the 9k one. Not sure if that's the one you were thinking - I couldn't find an 18k one 🤔

Jeanette, sweetheart, yes, you over thought the process, but remember the basics: the challenge of any puzzle, regardless of the number of pieces is to put each piece in the correct place to complete the image. The time it takes to complete a 2000 piece puzzle is the time it takes YOU to complete it. I am a slow puzzler. I just completed a 1,000-piece puzzle and it took me 59 days. Including the days I did not work on it at all. I will not be going to the world jigsaw puzzling championship. For me, puzzling is a leisure time activity when the rest of my life is not getting in the way. So please relax, you are doing better than the average bear. ❤

I think 2000 pieces are a lot of sorting which takes time, but build as you go with bigger puzzles stresses me out. I like to work my sections usually on smaller boards then place them on the main board together so I’m not constantly reaching. Then usually the filler pieces aren’t too many to put in last. I’m currently working on the new Krypt Glow puzzle by Ravensburger and it is 881 pieces and taking me a lot longer than a 2000 piece so it all just depends on the image! And whether or not you’re having fun and it’s worth the time 😊

Wow, it is so beautiful, mine is still in the box until December. I am really looking forward to doing this puzzle with my family. Thank you for the tip you gave me over IG about leaving the frame for the end. You did great. You handled it so well. You persevered in the midst of a setback. By the way, do you ever have snacks while you puzzle? so you can continue to puzzle longer. Like having popcorn or pretzels or m&ms in a small bowl.

You're gonna absolutely love putting this one together!! 🤩 Yes, the frame is a tricky one, because in a way it's better to have it done first, so you have the space to work within, but it took a while to do it 😅 Thank you! 🤗 And no, I don't usually snack. I would take breakfast/lunch/dinner breaks, but no snacking in between. I tend to drink a lot when I puzzle tho 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

You are too tough on yourself! And I don’t think you wasted that initial time sorting, you were just figuring things out. I’ve done a few 2k puzzles and the times very so much - my fastest was like 8hrs and my slowest was about 19hrs - very image dependent for me. I’m glad the frames weren’t too difficult - a nicely designed image for a puzzle. For 3k, what style of image would you like to do? Photograph? Illustration? Miss you heaps!! 💜🧩

I might do a poll on this one, as I don't know which one would be easier for a first 3k puzzle 😁

I normally listen to my playlist on the phone, but when I'm feeling adventurous I set up Spotify or KZread - you'd be surprised how many great new songs you can discover this way! 🤩👌🏻

Great job!! I think 9 hours is fantastic. As far as space for 3000pc, I don't know if you can get Castorland in Slovenia but their 3000pc puzzles (92 x 68 cm) are almost the same size, in fact slightly smaller, than most Schmidt 2000pc (96 x 69 cm).

I've done three 2000 piece puzzles but I've never timed myself, so can't help with that, sorry! The table I puzzle on is only big enough for 1500 pieces so these were on boards & on the floor. Not good for the back. The only 3000 piece I've done is a castorland. Tigers coming to life. I loved it!! The pieces are smaller than regular puzzles so it's the size of a 1500 piece puzzle. Might be worth looking at cause it'll suit your table. I bought another castorland 3000 for that reason ❤ 0:02

you’re ragging on yourself for being slow, meanwhile i think you did it quickly. i was cringing before you even started because i have a done a similar puzzle (1500 piece) by ceaco, disney with the gold borders, and it was an absolute nightmare. granted, at the time i hadn’t done that many puzzles before and i thought it looked like an easy image. also i had only recently found karen’s channel and had not found anyone else’s yet. you handled this one much better than i handled that one. i haven’t actually completed a 2000 piece puzzle yet, though i’ve gone about 3/4 through one before i left in pieces in the box, and i have another 2 i want to do. i’m not sure i’m good at gauging my times at all. i typically think an easy 1000 piece puzzle takes me 2 days and a more typical one takes about a week. but that’s also considering that i have a full time job and also don’t puzzle some days so it could take longer.

I feel like it came across wrong, but I wasn't disappointed with my time, but rather me thinking I won't be able to do it, and then overcomplicating the process for myself 😅 That 1500 - if it's a Mickey Mouse one, it looks way more difficult that the this one I just did! 😬 I think it's very important to have a good quality puzzle and a picture you love, when you decide to tackle larger puzzles, otherwise it can just drive you insane 😂🙈 I don't time myself either, when I'm leisurely puzzling, just when I record a video. I just started another 2k puzzle, and I think it'll take me weeks to finish. Definitely not as easy as the Disney one 😅

@@janetteandherpuzzles it was the disney classics one that i did, with cinderella in the center. it looked simple enough, but the colors weren’t as easy to differentiate once you were looking at a box full of pieces. the lady and the tramp section was difficult, and the background of the dalmations. plus it was a lot of dark blues and browns, and SO MANY pieces with gold border. i pushed through and finished it, but definitely broke it into 5 or 6 different sections, each in a baggie, before i traded it. 😂😂

The time of the puzzle depends on the picture a lot. My record for a 1000 piece puzzle is 2.5 hours. I have done a few puzzles within 3-4 hours 😊 But I also did a 1000 piece puzzle in 19 hours. It all depends on the picture. I'm sorry you feel like I'm lying to you, I wish I had the timer next to me, but it is possible to do it. And this picture was very easy and the piece cut pattern is also very distinguished! 😉
