Doing it all is also my role too often. So I also have a hard time filling such a role with a sub when I can't be there. I want to make a firm move this year and require a PA on all my shoots. This will help me focus and get better results. Will also keep me fresh for the next day.

Im unfortunately on my own a lot. Its definitely not ideal. My wife just joined my company so she will help me when shes avaliable and not building the branding side of the company, but after a recent shoot, i decided i would just figure out a way to hire someone. It goes so much smoother and allows me to focus on more important things

Unfortunately most small businesses don't have the budget to afford us the luxuries of bringing in assistants or multiple departments. Maybe 1 assistant at most, who would need to wear multiple hats and be efficient in multiple departments. Very common to see these days among emerginc production crew hands. It wasn't until I started working with bigger brands and agencies when I started getting budgets that would afford me a team. Until those opportunities come, it usually means going the extra mile for smaller clients. Not only for their benefit, but for our own. Our work will never be elevated unless more supporting production elements are used in our projects. If our paying projects can't afford things like lights or audio -- we have to decide if it's worth it to comp those items not for them -- but for our own resume. Many will disagree with me on this one... and I'm not suggesting a career of endlessly giving away work. But I am promoting the idea of under promising and over delivering. If not for your client, for your own resume! Regardless of who it's for, you should both be mutual beneficiaries of going the extra mile. Best of luck to you in this chapter of growth!

Hey Evan, how are you? Your content is really good, congratulations. I'm from Brazil and here I work exactly like you. I make some mistakes, but others I won't make because you share a lot of information and ways of doing things that I hadn't practiced before. Keep doing it this way and your channel will grow!

One piece of equipment I invested in recently was a Tascam X8 Portacapture. It gives me confidence knowing I have that backup recording that is also running into the footage captured on camera. Do you watch @Curtis Judd? He has an excellent channel.

I’ve seen his channel and usually will seek out his reviews on equipment I’m looking into.
