Dogman Legends from Canada [Cryptozoology Documentary]

Ойын-сауық

Long before coureurs des bois brought the legend of the loup-garou to the woods of the Great Lakes, First Nations across North America told stories about mysterious creatures with the bodies of men and the heads of wolves or dogs. In this video, we will take a look at Dogman legends endemic to Canada.

I grew up on Bray Road in Elkhorn, WI. Ever since we moved to the house when I was 11 years old, we didn't go outside at night, made sure everything was locked and secure by sunset, and as a kid, I used to barricade my bedroom windows so that whatever was out there couldn't look in. It was no surprise when the first sighting was made very near the house. I always knew it was there, just didn't know what it was. I've been fascinated by cryptids ever since.

My aunt was one of the highschool students that got chased on Bray Road. The Beast of Bray Road has been a legend in my family since as long as I can remember because of it. My uncle (brother of the aunt who was chased) also had a separate encounter while raccoon hunting. He and his story were featured on the Discovery channel when they did a story about it. I've always been SO interested in the subject.

Ever since I saw a sasquatch while i was alone on a mountain last august, i cannot in good faith, call any honest person a liar when they see they’ve seen some crazy shit. I stared at a giant hairy creature that DOESNT EXIST. it changed my life. these people aren’t lying. it’s not fun being called crazy/high on drugs/liar when you tell people about a life shattering experience.

I’ve had an experience in Cannington, Ontario that I believe relates to this topic. I used to visit friends who lived on County Rd 12, in an old farm house set back away from the road. One night I was driving home, heading towards town on the road they lived on. As I came down a small hill into a slight valley I saw two animals running on the gravel shoulder of the road. At first glance I assumed them to be a pair of Great Pyrenees farm dogs that had gotten loose, purely based on the size. As I got closer to them from the rear, it became clear from their colouration and body shape that my original assumption was wrong. At the time was I driving a ‘97 GMC Sierra, and as I became parallel with the animals, both of their heads and the tops of their backs were clearly taller than the bottom of the passenger side window. They were both identical from my perspective, however, one of them turned its head to glance over at the truck before turning on a dime and making a break straight through the soy field on the right side of the road. The other followed before I could blink. It wasn’t until after they had broken off from my direction of travel that I thought to check my speed. I was going 90km/h and both of them kept pace with ease. When I tell this story, I usually simplify it by saying that I saw two huge wolves on the road. But honestly? I’ve lived in a town with a population of wolves as well as a wolf sanctuary, even seen one on my street one evening. The animals that I saw that night on the road in cannington would have towered over any of the wolves I’ve seen anywhere else in Ontario.

I had an experience.was in northwest Illinois. Close to the border of Wisconsin. Pack of wolves calling to each other running swiftly. They got near the campground and screamed an unholy sound. Literally threw tent and all into the car and fled at sunrise. Blocked that memory for twenty years. I would think I was crazy if I hadn't experienced it myself. They are human with heads of wolves.

I’ve seen one. IIt was in Louisiana just outside of a very small village named Duberly in Louisiana. I was 17 years old and a part of a hunting party. I was about 30 m away from a fence line that housed a herd of teamed and farmed bred deer. I was sitting next to a salt tree stump waiting for my grandfather to come back with discards from the previous deer we had hunted. Not all of the farmed deer but a wild deer he had previously shot. I was on a Highline known as the boneyard. It’s where we always discarded animal in trails that are. Rank and of little use to us. I saw a creatures leg then shoulder and it had the snout of a dog. It was about 7 ft tall. It made no noise and it noticed me. It’s eyes met mine. It then darted away. This thing looked straight into my eyes. It looked like it knew I wasn’t supposed to see it but did. It backed up and disappeared into the foliage. Weirdest thing ever. Never knew about these things or thought they exist. I still remember the sun shimmering on it’s felt like pelt. Could see it’s muscle through the thinner spots

Thats an incredibly humbling feeling of absolute dread and terror locking eyes with something you can SEE IS ABSOLUTELY INTELLIGENT AS WE ARE THAT ISN'T SUPPOSED TO EXIST LOOKING AT YOU. Lolol My SHEER UNCONTROLLABLE TERROR AND FEAR, FIGHT OR FLIGHT. I'd read and studied all about in my various psychology courses but have never been more happy actually truly exist HARDWIRED INTO US. Knowing for certain we ABSOLUTELY ARE NOT THE TOP APEX PREDATOR on this planet. We're just the most greedy and selfish. I'm glad you knew it was intelligent and didn't want to harm you. As did I. For me it stood there more curious and in shock because it hadn't noticed me looking at it before it saw me. I just watched as mythological and fairy tale walked right out of the woods on two legs exactly like us. Upright with perfect posture and stride. Id though It was a man except for its features and its height. I saw it full on from side then to front profile as it REALIZED THAT I WAS THERE when my friend began speaking to me. The intelligence and the knowledge to understand our language. When my legs finally began to Usain Bolt and I Beau and Luke Duked it out of there in my car. Almost leaving my friend. I'm just glad she was running beside the car trying to hop in. Because I'd have left her there. I had no control over my body. I felt horrible afterwards when I regained control over my body. I horrifying think what would have happened if I'd had left her. I'd probably be in jail or committed as an insane person talking about the werewolf that took my friend. Smh. Gives me shivers. Fortunately it didn't want to harm us i truly believe. Because it could have and there would have been NOTHING I could have done to stop it. I'm glad you had a simular experience. When I think of those idiots who say I shot at the dogmen. How Powerful and strong those things are. And fast mixed with superhuman intelligence and strength. I doubt anyone who says they had an encounter and they didn't have uncontrollable fight or flight and no way are you going to be able to fight one of those things so that leaves you with one option. Happy to have another experience brother. Shalom.

@@vanceharris1854 Thank you for sharing your experience with me. I don’t blame you for running. I would have if I had time to process it any faster. The whole experience frightened me and completely changed the way I feel about the wilderness. I often find myself glancing into the woods while driving. Playing out those few seconds repeatedly. Did the creature you saw have a black pelt? Also, did you notice the ears change or dart up when it saw you and your friend? My experience occurred in NW Louisiana roughly 14 yrs ago. Although brief, It was a very primal feeling lock eyes with this. Similar to how people say Bigfoot looks similar to human but not. This being didn’t look human whatsoever. But when I say intelligible. It felt like it knew exactly what I was. And that I wasn’t suppose to see it. I’m glad to have had the experience but at the same time. It’s been a curse in a way. I grew up hunting, fishing, and enjoying spending time out in the woods for over two decades before this. I would literally go out alone for hours making trails without a care in the world. Not anymore. Not after this encounter. I’ve tried several times to get over my fear of it. But have missed on many hunting and camping trips with friends because of it. At the same time, I respect the creature, and couldn’t respect anyone trying to shoot at it. It could have taken me out in a letter of seconds and dragged my body over its shoulder with ease. But it didn’t! It darted out and back into the thickets of the woods like it more afraid of me seeing it than anything. Lol exactly, imagine telling the police or game warden about your run in with the wearwolf or dog man! I have feeling we both know how that would go down. Either way, We can’t unsee what we saw. I laugh at myself because my neighborhood is fairly dark at night. I’m kind of a chicken when it comes to night time and letting dogs out to potty. Sad thing is, I live in the Suburbs nowhere near the woods. With neighbors yards surround my own. Like I said. This whole encounter changed me in ways I wish I could overcome. Maybe someday I will. Kinda hard when you see missing people and some of those National park strange cases at every turn. Thanks again for sharing your encounter with me. It has helped me loads just knowing so many other people have similar experiences out there. I have a feeling that these things will only become more frequent as society encroaches more into woodlands and away from the city’s. Shalom Aleichem.

I was so happy to get your rely. YES I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL 100000000% LOLOL I am no chicken by any means. Quite fearless in most cases. But I am no fool either. In fact when I had my encounter. It was 2011. My encounter happened on Mt Saint Helens Washington state an active live volcano. Which i was going to be climbing the next day to the top. My friends and I were part of a selection of hikers that were allowed permits to got to the top. My first Mountain hiking ever and still to this day. One of the greatest experiences I've ever had. I grew up on the east coast and came from Washington DC to Washington state via the military. This was a complete lifestyle change from everything I'd ever experienced before. I never really had a older male figure growing up, so I missed out all all that man stuff growing up being raised by women. However after joining the military and being stationed in Washington soon became a very very adventurous outdoors man and always been an adventure junkie. I instantly began camping hiking, skiing, snowboarding which I love love love, skydiving, cave diving, snorkeling, white water rafting, you name it, being as wasted state is a MAN'S PARADISE. Beautiful beautiful gorgeous state. (Or was/is currently political Marxist ruining our state) I knew we had bears, cougars, bobcats, elk, deer, coyotes, rattlesnakes, tree octopuses, giant squid, killer whales, dolphins, seals, sea lions, sharks, eagles, falcons , everything you could imagine. The entire state is basically one big wildlife habitat and reign forest. Eastern Washington desert. I had NO IDEA WHAT ELSE WAS IN THEM WOODS. My military buddies talked me into doing the climb, as it was an annual event. I decided to to go. I didn't expect that would change my life forever. After a late start 5 hr drive to Mt Saint Helens, on a Friday. Me and my female friend stopped at Macdonalds to use the restroom and get a drink before we left civilization for the last time. Once we got started we had 2 more hours up the mountain to get to base height to set up camp. We originally were racing the sun but it was clear we weren't going to make it. The sun goes down fast in the mountains once it goes over the peak your essentially in darkness mountain night. So we resigned to our fate of setting up camp in the darkness. And decided to take our time. We both being stargazers as well was AMAZING NO LIGHT POLLUTION AND BEING THOUSANDS OF FEET, MILES HIGH. We could see the swirls from the galaxy. It was the most beautiful gorgeous night sky I'd ever seen at that point. As nature would have it we both needed to pee so we found a good place to pull off and sky gaze while we both went to piss. We each went to different sides of the road, me near the dark wooded side going up the mountain and she on the descending side.. Side note my friend was on her MONTHLY. And like most women decided to take an extraordinary amount of time "using the bathroom". In the meantime I being a dude hurried up and took care of business asap. The whole time I'm starting off into the complete darkness. I have excellent night time vision being i love the darkness and nocturnal myself. But that was a special kind of dark. I also had excellent hearing so all my senses were on high alert especially because it was bear season. As I was pissing i heard SOMETHING far off out in the wilderness snapping twigs leaves and stuff. It literally could have been anything from chipmunks to ground hogs which are HUGE here. To a deer or large cat. Even an elk. Whatever it was it was far enough off that I wasn't worried but I knew something was definitely out there. I asked my friend if she was done? And to hurry her little ass up. Like I said I wasn't scared but I'm no fool. It could have been a big cat or bear. Who knows. I didn't want to find out. We were checking out the constellations while we were going and was looking for the little dipper. Meanwhile I kept looking towards the woods as Whatever it was was getting closer and closer. Then I heard branches snapping twigs and brush moving. I knew what ever it was was BIG. No chipmunks or small animal. It was huge Whatever it was. Now I was expecting maybe a bear, a cougar, maybe a deer or elk. I've seen all those before out here. I backed up closer to my car scanning the wood line. I closed my eyes and rotated my head like Stevie wonder to get a fix on the sound moving through the woods, i pinpointed the area. My eyes opened wide looking as deep in as I could. Asking her if she was done yet. She told me to "hold my horses! "! I have a problem with females taking forever to get ready, worse to put on makeup while on camping and hiking trips and so she assumed I was being impatient by her female lack of sensibilities. I wasn't. I wanted to get the hell out of there. Almost as if in slow motion and cut scene straight from a movie. My entire reality started to twist and flip upside down right-side up. As suddenly straight out of JURRASSIC PARK the trees began to bristle and part like a raptor was coming through. It was then i saw my first glimpse as a silhouette of some hulking giant man like shape from parting between the trees ,IT WALKED ON TWO LEGS with the STRIDE OF A MAN BUT WASN'T A MAN right out of the wilderness and onto the road. About a good 6 feet from the woods. I got an incredible good look at it. It was looking straight forward over at my friend. It didn't see me it was completely focused on her watching her. It was thinking and perplexed. It stood there. Watching her doing her woman female taking forever things. I saw it entirely. From head to toe 3 1/4 side profile. It had to be 7/8 feet tall easily. I knew because there was a deer crossing sign behind it and it towered that by a foot and then some. It was all black shiny greasy fur ALL MUSCLE the top body builder on super soldier serum couldn't touch that thing. It was ripped. I could see every muscle perfectly under the fur. It had the body of a man from the neck to the knees and Digitigrades legs of a dog its arms were massive muscular and extremely long down to its knees almost while standing straight upright like a man. It's HANDS it had hands! Like a man's but it's fingers were longer at it had claws long sharp black nails. It's head was weird. Kinda the brow of a monkey or cave man like a SNOUT not really long and pointy but halfway. Its ears were long and pointy and on top of its head not on the sides. Sort of Doberman like. Its eyes were all black no reflective. It was intelligent. It was just standing looking at her. I was frozen looking at it. Blinking really hard as if to clear my eyes. I leand forward to get a better look. Then SHE STARTED TALKING TO ME "OH I SEE THE LITTLE DIPPER " Then IT REALIZED SHE WAS TALKING TO SOMEONE ELSE AND IT TURNED AND LOOKED STRAIGHT AT ME EYES TO EYES LOCKED. I could tell it was shocked it hadn't noticed me looking at it. It having been there for at least a full 2 minutes. It felt like an eternity. My petrified frozen body began spasming urging me to MOVE. WE LOOKED AT EACH OTHER FOR PROBABLY A FULL 30 SECONDS BEFORE I BOLTED. I hoped in my car and keys turned in the ignition and began to pull off petal to the floor. My friend wasn't in the car... She was running beside the car saying "wait im not in yet!" She had one leg in and hanging on the door. I reached over grabbed her belt and pulled her in all the way. She was freaking out because I was in a way she'd never seen me scared before ever of anything. I couldn't respond i couldn't talk I was white knuckles on the steering wheel and flying up that mountain like a bat out of hell. No light's i didn't even close my door no seat belts which I was famous for. I was in full fight or flight instinct. Uncontrollable terror Uncontrollable fear. She begged me to slow down turn on the lights and slow down i was doing 70 and rising. She said we're going to crash. That gave me more terror because I kept thinking about that movie cursed when that car flipped upside down and the werewolf had easy pickings. I slowed down to 50 to turn the lights on put on my seat belt and slam my door then back up to 60mph no less. I kept looking at the mirror expecting it to be chasing us. In my mind it was. She knew I'd seen SOMETHING, but didn't know what. She kept asking me what did I see? She rattled off a list of things, " a bear? A mountain lion? A moose? Etc. To which all I could do was to slowly wide eyed shake my head NO to each.

After a few moments she asked again with a half smile on her face, did I see BIGFOOT?. I finally spoke, after about 15 mins now. I said I don't know what THAT WAS that I saw, but IT WALKS LIKE A MAN BUT I WASN'T A MAN. IT WALKED LIKE US BUT IT WASN'T ONE OF US " . Was all i could say. I asked her "you didn't see that thing? ". She said no she was looking up at the sky then the car started to move she had to jump in. She figured i was messing with her to get her to hurry the hell up. But then realized oh hell he's leaving! She didn't want to walk the rest of the way there. She asked me several times the same thing I replied the exact same. My adrenaline was finally coming back down to where I had control over my body again. I yelled at her for taking forever then I cried because I was going to leave her without any control over my body or actions. I yelled at her THIS IS WHY WHITE PEOPLE GET EATEN!"! Tears flowing down my face. She was laughing. Then started singing I saw Bigfoot. I saw Bigfoot over and over. I corrected her i said I don't know what THAT WAS but it wasn't HARRY AND THE HENDERSONS. It wasn't like any Bigfoot that I'd seen. I told her I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT THING WAS, BIT IF I HAD TO CALL IT SOMETHING, ID CALL IT A WEREWOLF. not some giant ape. But something canine hybrid with a human. I didn't have to convince her she absolutely believed me. She knew I saw something because she had known me for years and we've been camping, hiking skiing etc. Encounter wildlife and never seen me scared of anything. Much less terrified. She knew I saw something and I believed exactly what I saw. Not just because she knew me. But by my very nature of my job in the military top secret elite military. Tactically training and everything. She'd never seen me scared like that ever. Now you talk about being scared we were still heading up the mountain to CAMP. I WAS ORIGINALLY GOING TO STAY IN THE CAR. HE I WAS GOING TO TAKE MY ASS BACK TO CIVILIZATION LOLOL I'm a Blackman we don't fuck around with that shit. We passed the sign for the ape caves, that freaked me out. Then passed those. Heading to base camp area. If it hadn't been that there literally was hundreds of people all over. Noisy kids, dogs and people partying no way in hell would I have been able to stay there. Though I was still terrified out of my mind. I kept looking at the wilderness all around the edge of the camping grounds. These foolish humans had NO IDEA WHAT ELSE WAS OUT THERE. I told her not to say anything to anyone else but she couldn't wait to blurt it out "Vance was Bigfoot " to the whole group. They all laughed and made fun of me. As military people love to do. Telling me it was just a list hiker I left on the side of the road. Then these MF'S decide to tell me. The kid from DC that Washington state is the national capital of Bigfoot Sasquatch sightings and ufo. Especially Mt Saint Helens.!!! I was pissed, noone decided to tell me BEFORE INVITING ME UP THERE ! They all laughed saying because I wouldn't have gone then. I didn't sleep at all that night terrified I shivered all night with fear. I couldn't even go to the bathroom by myself all the way across the camp grounds. She went with me. She never seen me like that. I really did see a werewolf or Bigfoot. It wasn't until the sun started to come up that I closed my eyes for an hour. The next day everyone was up and getting ready for the climb. We my friends were all newbies. The senior hikers were all taking off. It turned out to be one of the best experiences I've ever had. Though I was still very scared of the woods there were literally hundreds of people. I made sure to keep everyone together, I kept scanning the treeline and looking out there for IT. It took us 6 hrs to get to the top. We had some slower people with up. So we'd go up ahead and wait for them to catch up. We made it to the top.its amazing. One of the toughest things I've ever done. We took the hardest steepest paths up. Ever since I no longer feel safe or carefree in the woods. I don't go out at night even in the city. I know what's out there in the dark. It took me years to go back into the wilderness. I'm not one to be ruled by fear. I had to go back. I had to see the place to know that it was real even though I knew it was. I had never heard of dogman or anything like that before. It was years later when I first heard that name. I'd become obsessed with learning everything I could about whatever the hell it was I saw. To my friends and coworkers credit. Even though they ridiculed me mercilessly gave me all kinds of Bigfoot Sasquatch gifts and pranks. They all ABSOLUTELY BELIEVED ME. Apparently they all knew, heard something, knew someone who saw one, something. There were too many people too many accounts for there not to be something. It's kind of an open secret up here in Washington. Native and longterm Washington people, the LARGE NUMBER OF NATIVE TRIBES legends, they all know about Bigfoot Sasquatch and other cryptids JUST LIVING HERE! THE ENTIRE PACIFIC NORTH WEST FROM NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ALL THE WAY TO CANADA AND ALASKA. As you said all the MISSING PEOPLE and MISSING 411 all surrounding the national parks. I've since then finally been back to Mt Saint Helens, Mt baker, Mt Rainer, Whistler, hurricane ridge crater lake, silver falls among many others. I know they are out there. I will never go into the wilderness alone bit with groups. I finally did the ape caves which got their name from a famous Sasquatch attack on miners. It still terrifies me but I love to be scared. Adrenaline junkie here. I've watched every werewolf, movies books etc. It was through Linda Godfrey that I first heard that name the beast of Bray road, the Michigan dogman. I received i heard something about this back in the 90's but didn't take it seriously.an urban legend. Little did I know I'd come face to face with make-believe fairytales. Upon hearing about this beast I knew I'd FOUND my creature. Sure enough it was the same exact kind of creature crypid. It wasn't until I'd heard someone else say that the werewolf in van helsing was the same exact creature as the dogmen. I had to see this. The instant I saw it, Filled me with dread. Omgoodness someone in hellyweird actually nailed the real thing. The darker werewolf was nearly identical to what I saw. If you ever want to know what a dogman actually looks like. Thats it. To this day I'm cautious whenever I go out at night whenever. I do go out to the wilderness but never alone. I study and track these things all over. They are everywhere living among us. I believe them to be the remnants of the nephillim, children of the fallen ones. The Cynocephali a tribe of dog-headed men that history goes back as far as we do. As intelligent as we are, and hidden. We are a species with Amnesia. Only we've forgotten our true past. It was Hidden from us to hide the true history of this world, in order to hide the true existence of hide the existence of the creator. I've seen some some incredible things. None more terrifying than the dogmen walking out the woods.

I have an uncle who lives in New Hampshire and a cousin who lives in Maine. Whenever I visit my uncle I always make a point to see my cousin in Maine afterwards. Both my cousin and I are quite the outdoorsman and we both enjoy wilderness camping, hiking, and hunting. One year we decided to go camping in Mt. Katahdin on the Appalachian Trail and I gotta say, the stories of how remote this place is doesn’t do it any Justice until you’ve actually experienced it for yourself. We didn’t have any issues the first night we camped. It wasn’t until our third night where things got interesting. On our third day we hiked out a bit further to change up the scenery and it was on that hike where we both felt like something was watching us. Not too mention that we kept smelling a terrible odor the further out we hiked. At that point we hadn’t seen anything to prove our suspicions until we set up camp that night. After going to bed we were both woken up by the sounds of what we thought were coyotes or wolves walking around our camp. What made the whole experience that much more alarming is that our entire camp smelled like what we had been smelling earlier in the day which had the aroma of the most putrid rotten meat mixed with stale urine, and feces. It was enough to make us gag in our tent. So we decided to take out our firearms and hold down our tent until daylight, hoping nothing would get ballsy enough to enter. Luckily nothing happened but our camp was a huge mess the next day. Needless to say we packed up and hiked out of there. So like I said before, I’ve never seen a Dogman per-say, but I know deep down in my gut that I encountered one with my cousin on that particular camping trip.

Awww, snap!! Here in Indiana, in addition to a modern Dogman tradition (à la Beast of Bray Road), we also have some very old French colonial towns. The town of Vincennes was first settled around 1700 as an outpost by woods-runners, but it actually became a full-fledged town in 1732. Anyway, just like in Detroit, and early French colonial Canada, the people of Vincennes told stories of the loup-garous. However, something that sets the Franco-Hoosier version apart is that the afflicted person could not only turn into a werewolf, but other species as well, i.e. a werecow, a werehorse, werecat, werecoyote, and, in one case, even a werepumpkin! Another difference is that the afflicted could be cured of the condition by someone cutting them, or wounding them in such a way that draws blood.

This might sound bizarre, but Ireland 🇮🇪 had a history of Dogmen from back in medieval times and before, and a lot of Celtic tribes moved to North America along time before Columbus, so it’s possible that the DogMan clans also emigrated over, as all our oak forests were eventually decimated by the British also, as they needed the wood for warships leaving the DogMan clans nowhere to live anyway. We called them Faolagh, and they were highly respected as the greatest warriors on the island…. Encounters with Faolagh are nearly not heard of now in Ireland….

Saint-Christopher the Canaanite was depicted with a dogs head, but this likely resulted from a mistranslation. It is true however that Saint Christopher was a giant, from the ancient Canaanite race of giants (the sons of Anak). He first was a typical representation of his race, a boneheaded giant proud of his own strength, he proclaimed that he only wanted to worship one who was more powerful and more fearless than him. So for a while, like most of his race, he followed the devil, until once when he saw his master was afraid of the sign of the cross, he scoffed at the devil and was curious who it was that the devil was afraid of, that he would be worthy of his worship. At the time he helped people cross the river for a fee (seems like other giants also did this work, for example Druon Antigoon the giant of Antwerp), once a young child asked to be crossed across the river. He put the child on his shoulders, but when he was in the middle of the water the child wonderously started weighing so much it almost made him, the big strong giant, drown, he barely survived the ordeal. The child was an appearance of Jesus Christ, and the giant became a Christian. He changed his ways according to God's law and would until the end of his life help carry people over the river. I think he was the only one of his race that found mercy in the eyes of God. Yet because of the word Canaanite was mistranslated from Latin canis, dog, some (probably mistakenly) thought he was of the race of cynocephali (who btw like the giants are probably also descended from the fallen Watchers when they descended to Earth and took human wives), and hence he was represented as such.

@@bromisovalum8417 I agree that there are sooo many mistranslations in the Bible and things that were just straight-up changed for the benefit of the church, it's almost hard to take it seriously. According to Bart Ehrmann in 'Misquoting Jesus,' by the time the First Council of Nicaea was held, and the eventual invention of the printing press, there were literally 35,000 different versions of the Bible. Thank Goodness those nice church fathers were there to pick and choose through the parts they did and did not approve of! And, the editing process is still going strong. For instance, here is a popular topic that has obviously been manipulated to serve the church: the word 'homosexual' didn't actually appear in any printing of the Bible until the 1970s. The word 'abomination' did not mean 'sin' two thousand years ago - it meant 'unfit to be taken into the Temple.' Therefore, heterosexual sex was also considered an 'abomination' at the time the Bible was compiled, but no one ever seems to want to talk about that. Convenient, isn't it? The church was trying to eradicate the Pagan fertility rights that had been so common amongst the people. Sex was seen as natural and NOT a dirty, shameful activity by pagan folk. The church sought to change that, however and did a great job. I've never been in a church where ANY couple - gay, straight, or otherwise - was encouraged to have sex on the altar. Have you? See what they did there? lol Men LOVE to edit The Good Book to make their own points, but I digress. I agree with you... it's very interesting to see what men have done to 'The Word of God.' It is more likely an anthology of alien encounters than it is Truth from The Source. The Hindu scriptures do talk about a race of 'dog-headed' people. Whether they were indigenous or extraterrestrial, I do not know. One thing is obvious, however - many, many events have happened on this planet that included beings not of this planet. Now that our government is FINALLY talking about some of the E.T. contacts it has had (though still not transparently) some light may be shed on past goings-on. We can only hope. I have a feeling that there were many 'gods' positioning themselves as 'God,' and attempting to make humanity do their bidding. I do wonder who everyone has been praying to. I find your points about Saint Christopher very compelling. Perhaps he was a giant dog-headed being?! I cannot speak for any artist of the time, but from what I have observed, it appears that they rarely painted metaphors; they painted real events. Unfortunately, like everything in the Bible, we have to take someone else's word for it. Though... the writers weren't there either, nor were their subsequent editors, of which there were thousands. Oh, well.

I have yet to witness a dogman or werewolf myself, but I have seen things in the wilderness that were almost stranger than they are, so I have no difficulty whatsoever in believing the eyewitnesses who tell of their encounters with such beasts. The strangest and eeriest thing I've ever seen in the forest was a humanoid form of what appeared to be a woman, completely made out of green light. She was about five and a half feet tall, and completely luminous from head to toe. I encountered her at night, in Kings Canyon National Forest in California. She approached me and seemed intelligent and purposeful. Her gaze filled me with indescribable terror, and I hid my face for a moment as I tried to summon up my courage. When I felt ready to face her, a few seconds later, I found that she had vanished. To this day, I have no clear idea of what I encountered that night, but since that time I have had a very open mind when it comes to the strange tales told by others. I love your channel, by the way, and I thank you for your outstanding work! Sincerely, --N

It’s interesting that mankind’s worst traits are usually projected onto all these different creatures including Aliens. The driver calling the wolf he saw as having a snarling type grin or hunters referring to other hunters (perhaps in wolf form) as ghastly and horrific without acknowledging the obvious irony. I cannot help but wonder if some bury their own dark side so deeply it sometimes springs forth in the form of mythical beings?

I have driven through Cannock Chase many times and never saw anything, but I've twice been hit by a deer - at exactly the same spot, years apart! Each time the deer disappeared. I have meanwhile heard that there are lots of reports from that stretch of road of similar incidents, ie deer crashes and the deer disappearing. The road is also said to be haunted. Excellent as always. There's a few different legends right there that I have not heard yet. Thank you, that definitely clears up why there's so many different types of Dogmen out there. Although I do have one request, if you have any information on the subject, I heard a story from an Ojibwe Elder about the legend of the Bearwalker which can be summoned by a Shaman when someone wants to perform the ritual to become a werewolf. It's said to resemble a Dogman but much larger and more powerful with preternatural abilities but also somewhat looks like a bear. Basically the person who wants to transform offers their soul to the being in return for supernatural powers and the ability to change back and forth between human and animal form at will. Just curious if anyone else might know more about this.

@@HammersonPeters awesome, however I'm not sure if you're thinking of the same type of entity. It's not the "Bearman" like the ones that were hunted and killed off by the Sasquatch people but this one is some kind of demonic entity that resembles a cross between a werewolf and the short-faced "Running Bear." Besides the Ojibwe Elder, I've only ever heard one other story describing it and it was from a Park Ranger in Yellowstone who stumbled across its cave hidden deep in the forest. I'm pretty sure it was on What Lurks Beneath channel and fairly recent.

Ya know, the most unnerving thing about what they call the "Uncanny Valley" is that it's an evolutionary trait in humans which means we at one time had to evolve to fear something that looked human but wasn't. Let that sink in for a second.

I’m gonna tell you something I grew up in northern Ontario and we were kids in August whipping around on the dirt roads back in the 70s we came around the corner and there was something standing there eating corn and anybody that knows livestock corn grows to be about seven or 8 feet tall this thing threw it to the side and started angling us off running away from us. It’s brought it much closer very quickly it looked us in the eye my girlfriend screamed. We have never seen anything like that before.

I never heard of this legend of the bride who was stolen by a dogman, and the cat fish who swallowed him so he could escape I doubt it was a cat fish most likely the farmer's manic state being as he suffered from the trauma of such a horrendous attack and the loss of his bride. but this being the reason we Canadians don't eat catfish is something I never heard of, maybe in French Canada that may be the case, but I live in western English Canada, and i grew up with just not eating it because we were told it is too bony and not palatable. also it is a fish that lives in mercky smelly waters and is not considered desirable, we have a water body in this area where I live that is a slough and cat fish live in there it is dirty water with alga and gets clogged with water plants, and it used to stink when it was used for open sewer before the septics and later sewers were installed, so that is also the reason we don't eat it it. in this community but my husband has eaten it and he says it is good tasting but really bony still he says it is good fish I still have never touched it, children used to fish and catch them then throw them onto the road to let cars run over them yuk! they sure can live a long time out of water I felt sorry for the poor things but that just added to the "ickiness" most Canadians myself included feel about catfish. EEWWWwww lolol maybe if I was starving 😁

We were driving on the big highway on way home passing through Toronto and I saw a giant black thing walking up a small incline right towards some huge factory type building, I told the driver um I think a zoo animal must have escaped because I just saw something crazy. Lol I also saw a lot of dear on that ride too and was surprised so much wildlife would be around that area but the black thing was huge and so out of place, I checked news articles to see if there was anything about something escaping but there were none.

I could share some pretty interesting findings in regards to what people call Dogmen. I have seen them several times, Know areas they live in, over all all these topics people need too look at them in the broader picture of things, their is so much of our world that has been lied to us about, reality is not what it seems. If anyone here ever should encounter one of these beings, treat them with respect and do not harass or threaten them in any matter, even think thoughts of such ( idk how they do it but it seems many of these unknown creatures can read our thoughts by many reports) and they should leave you alone, only use deadly force if you are truly under attack and have no other option.

AMARILLO, Tx. (KABC) -- A strange creature has been spotted outside a zoo in Texas, but it's not exactly an animal and it's not exactly a human, or is it? Security cameras at the Amarillo Zoo captured what appears to be a wolfman walking around the property.
