I'm so glad you said Honey 😊 I also use "Raw" honey on my own wounds, if you have manuka honey it is even better for wound healing. Make sure it's raw honey not supermarket honey, as it's mostly sugar and its pasteurised, so all the enzymes are gone.

Any honey? I’ve heard Manukau Honey is the best. Till I get to the Health Store, I’ll use what I have on hand. Thanks! My chihuahua has a cyst that recently burst & I’ve been treating it at home.

My dog tumor or cyst rupture well i think she bit it off...it was dry n i gave her a bath n left her outside to dry with out no shirt and she kept messing with it ..n she had a wound hole...so i rinse it b spray some stuff from petco...what did u use for urs and did it close.

What if it is a large hole about rhe size of a quarter in the neck where the skin is not connected to the muscle ? What can i do to clean and cover ?

But honey can attract housefly and housefly are the major reason for maggots

What if the wound is open? Like I can see the muscle I think. Should I still use honey? And is organic raw honey good?

How do you care for a dehiscence of a surgical incision? It had surgical glue but the glue came off.

What if its a large whole about the size of a quarter in the neck? Where its wide open and the skin is not connected to the muscle ?

Can you use diluted provolone iodine, if you don't have chlorhexidine?

I don’t have local honey. Can a normal honey jar from the supermarket be used?

So once applying the honey, for the next day how do you wash it off to apply a new layer? Do you clean again with chlorhexidine then remove and apply the honey? (Asking cause my dog just had a big abcess drained and had stitches put in and a drainage tube, after 5 days (today) drainage tube came out and they took the stitches out as well and now left a huge open wound which they advise to keep open and clean with a solution (I have chlorhexidine and honey). Not sure why they removed the stitches as well after only 5 days.

Hi, I know this isn't a question about dogs. I have a red hen who's about 5 years old. She is walking slowly & kinda like a penguin walks. She is eating & pooping, but no pt laying eggs. My dog got scratched or bit by another dog through our chain link fence. I've been monitoring if for 8 days now but he just re-opened it and the scabs came off. Oh no, sorry! I have two dogs who like to roll in bird poop when they find it in my yard. I’d say get some good Probiotics, Dr Jones has a video on Probiotics.

If a wound is needing irrigation ?. How deep of a wound should it be before just dabbing honey and letting it air dry or putting a bandage on it to help close the skin over .
