Hi Stonnie, Greetings from the island of Phuket in SW Thailand…… (8N098E) I’ve been watching you videos since late 2020 when I knew I was going to be getting another Golden Retriever puppy when I retired from the cockpit in Abu Dhabi. I’ve had 2 other Golden’s over the past 18yrs. This evening I turned off CNBC and watched your video with my 8 month old female Golden at my side. What happened next was hilarious. Sandy went right up to the TV Screen and watched what you were doing with the other dogs and how you got them to sit. I’ll have her watch your other videos and incorporate that into her training program…..Hahaha. Keep up up the great work…..

Wow green grass, NY is just squeaking by.Super great tips, so I will use my whole yard as my obstacle course, not just walking. I love how you work with the dogs and have the energy for it. My dog has butterflies in her brains at age 15 months(had her since 12weeks old and training it all) and when they keep popping in which can be anywhere from every 5 minutes to anything that flies by we are in trouble, even a pine tree seed. She knows plenty, she has been taught a lot and well, but when that distractions happen she is like Ferdinand the bull someplace else. I have a protocol and a routine, training buddy dog that is really well mannered, decades of training behind me and I have never been so tempted like other owners to use those other tools. Basically if I am not a ball, a piece of cheese, or a toy or have one she just wants to do what she wants. Pretty much since she tuned 12 months she just loses it easily. I don't though - I know what pushing does when something or someone is not ready, it just backfires and you end up at square one or worse. Keep sharing and if you could use more rambunctious teen breeds I would love that. Blessings to you and yours.

When they are around a year old, most dogs go through a phase where they pretend to go deaf and nothing you do will make them mind you. It passes. I promise. You just have to hang on, keep the training up, keep the leash on and wait it out.

How would you train a 12 week old mini schnauzer to do this? I have to bend down so far paying him treats, it really hampers the fluidity of the leash obedience training.

I’d love for you to make a video talking about you opinion on what she my flat collar , slip lead, slip chain, prong , harness for training. We know you use a slip lead , but why? You do not teach in the typical Tom Dokken style of popping collar , could a flat buckle achieve the same thing??

Stonnie, do you have a video about dogs regressing around other young dogs/new rescues? We encounter and see aggression (resource guarding) from a 2.5 yr old dog who is usually well trained/well behaved. During a training session I had the small dog who I typically trust very very well bite a big puppy on the face, then week later get into a scruff with another big puppy. Its clearly he feels small around pushy puppies or is not confident or is resource guarding. Thank you! I like the way you train and would like to train this situation properly

@@StonnieDennis Is the English show lead you use similar to a Classic retriever leash? Only difference is material and leash thickness? Really interested in your videos, so much useful information for me and my Golden puppy to use for training!
