For whatever reason, people get offended when you call them 'it,' however animals don't have such frivolous preferences, and don't really care if you use the neuter pronoun 'it' or 'they.' Also it's his hind legs, not back legs, dog's backs are horizontal and back legs would go upwards on the other side of his backs, hence we use the term hind in such examples.

My springer spaniel was the same way. I learned to just give up. He'd spend all day in there, would fall asleep on the steps with his head on the deck. RIP Jacob, I miss you everyday.

As a slave to a couple of Labs, and a Golden, I can 100% confirm this is a daily routine. And that is EXACTLY what he's thinking. 100%.

We live across the street from a lake, like less than 100yds, and if my kids leave the back door open, ( usually around 730am) and if I can't find my hounds...... There's an island 750 meters from the shore, one morning, I couldn't find them anywhere, and sure as shit, all three are on the island chasing geese like it's Christmas morning. The park rangers, who, obviously, know my dogs quite well, had the boats out there, calling over the intercom, they can't get on the shore because of the mud. It was hilarious. They finally called me and I had to come and lay down the law... Which is me getting on the boat and shaking their food bowls.

That is the coolest dog I've ever seen. He is just CHILLING. My friend's 170 lb great dane kinda fell into the pool a few weeks ago and OH BOY he was not cool. at first he tried to be like 'this is no big deal i mean, I'm a mammal; all mammals can swim, therefore I can swim. It's simple a=b, b=c, therefore a=c logic.' buuttt, he quickly lost all composure and began flailing wildly looking for his master. I swam toward the dog and helped him stay afloat but he is a mammal and all mammals CAN swim, so h e could swim. The problem was more like, how do you get him out? Without damaging the pool liner that is 35 yrs old?

They gathered all around me as I kept going to the bottom of the pool, saying to each other 'See? it's TRUE! They really DON'T float!" That was 50 years ago.

from an anthropomorphic perspective, this is your best yet.

This guy is a comedic genius when it comes to these voice-overs...it's not just what he says but how he incorporates the smallest, most imperceptible behavior of the animal and uses it to make these videos hysterical *and* realistic (well, realistic if animals could talk...).

I love how as the human approached, the dog keep swimming backwards all relaxed, keeping perfect distance, like the dog has done it so many times and it always worked.

Bizarre how he's just swimming around like he doesn't usually walk on all fours.

This is going to become a classic.

I just turned 4, 7x4... I love how it gives "Im a big boy now" vibes

this hits close to home lmao when I turned 4 for some reason the morning of my birthday I thought since I was a year older I would gain the ability to swim. So I climbed in the out pool lucky my dad was close the last thing I said was “I wonder if I can swim yet” jumped in and sunk to the bottom of the pool immediately. All I remember is looking up and seeing the sun and the ripples of the water, as my dads hand reached for me. Everything felt like it was in slow motion. Extremely surreal memory that has stuck with me for my entire life.
