Actually that's sometimes a huge problem. My lab is 13, he has cancer and HD and artrose, doesn't see nor hear very good anymore but is so happy and play full. At night he has pain but at day he is so happy, how can I make the decision, enough is enough when he doesn't want to give up?

its been a year the last time i cry...,,i cant believe i cry so bad watch this😔

That guy that stopped to help, was a true “man” thank you for helping a helpless dog in need! Aloha n mahalo from Hawaii to all that helped that dog especially to his foster mom!

To the man who took a different exit, saw him, decided to help me, a million thank you!! To the lady that fosters him, thank you!!

Thank you Calvin for saving this puppy and getting him the money for his surgery and getting him to a beautiful soul to care for him and to make him whole, I hope he's found his forever family and he is loved

Despite being abandoned and having his leg amputated, this dog has the tenacity to live without complaining one bit. I strive to be as loving and forgiving as my dog.

I'm angry about animal control, If I was there I would not have let the STATE take the dog, it is because the STATE took the dog that the dog lost his leg, animal control made his injury worse. The STATES have plenty of money to do the things politician want to do, life doesn't seem important to people who work for STATES, it's bureaucracy. The dog lost his leg because of callus bureaucracy. That is my opinion in which I am entitled to by the constitution of the united states of America. I'm angry the dog lost his leg , it could have been fixed. Why is it that people are so quick to cut off body parts, I think because it is less expensive and less trouble, not because it is the best solution. We must improve our society there is far to much suffering going on.

I loved how Calvin talked to Ike. It was so heartwarming. God sent him to find him. I was really hoping he was going to be Ikes forever home :(

Kudos to the man who took charge of the dog when he was stranded injured and helpless by the roadside.

Props to the girl for working on that animal's emotional side. Im glad that animal is surrounded by such amazing people. And yeah , props to Calvin for raising the funds. These people make the world a beautiful place.

This guy is amazing. How he stepped up for his dog and saved his life is nothing short of amazing. The foster lady is another wonderful human with a big caring heart. She healed his heart and gave him the ability to be excited for life again. There wonderful people for what they do for animals. Sadly there is never an ending to all these videos of hurt and abandoned animals. We need to do better

Calvins the man, so happy he cared so much, animal control lacked the kindness using that snare while he was so injured, plus 7 days dumped in a cage! Also thank you to the lovely , caring foster for seeing Ike's true essence, he is a real sweetheart!!

The snare pole doesn't hurt them. Its a humane way of capturing animals that don't want to be captured. Did you not see the dog frantically trying to run away, likely hurting himself further? Dogs that are scared like that will bite. Its the safest way to capture the animal for all parties. Just because you don't like the way it looked doesn't mean it was bad. Educate yourself.

In most cases, when a dog is hit by a car, there is a big chance of full recovery. However, most city shelters are underfunded and can't afford this type of emergency surgery or even an amputation; most dogs in this situation will be in pain killers for more than a week or until they can cover the surgery or find a pro-bono vet. It breaks my heart seeing animals in pain. Please, if you love animals, you can help go to your city shelter, ADOPT, FOSTER, VOLUNTEER, OR DONATE.

GREAT MAN CALVIN, and all the other GREAT PEOPLE that saved this poor pup, and nursed him back to the tail wagging happy pup now!!!

This story gave me the biggest lump in my throat May God continue to bless Calvin, Kendal, Ike and Uno! It just proves that there really are Angels who walk this Earth.

One of my pups was found exactly like Ike and she needed to have one of her back legs amputated as well and she runs, plays and just loves life! It is amazing to see that there are great people out there! Congrats!!!!!!!

First off, to the person who hit that dog and left him there like that you are a horrible person and I hope horrible things happen in your life as long as you live. Thank you Calvin for caring enough to take your time and effort to raise the money needed to get him the help he desperately needed. What's so sad is that leg probably could have been saved if there weren't such a delay but he's healthy now and it warmed my heart to see that first smile and tail wag on this video. Thank you to his caring and patient foster mom. He needed you so much and you were there to help him heal emotionally. He looks like a beautiful soul and I'm happy to see him feeling so much better.

Our town doesn't have a shelter. The nearest one is 64miles away. I'm so heart broken that if I find an animal in need I couldn't do anything 😭
